I loved this place. I was here a few years ago for a special occasion. And they taught me well, and they taught the person that I was with, and we came out with really nice commemorative, sentimental, a special cool things out of the experience and I loved it. They are a bit pricey, but a lot of ceramic stuff is period they walk you through the entire process.They don't have a lot of glazes to choose from, but they walk you through everything.And there's a whole thing there if you want to be a member.I'm not sure exactly how that works.I did ask about three times in the last few years about it, but never really got any clear answers but I would definitely recommend this as like a date night thing or a special occasion thing read more

Walked in with an appointment but no one bothered to welcome us. Making an appointment for this place was pretty garbage too as there were no responses to their emails and the phone call appt didn't have any confirmation. Very disappointing as we had tried to do a walk in last year but was dismissed without an appointment. read more

I've been here twice, both times to take someone as a birthday gift/celebration. It is such a sweet place, with a peaceful atmosphere and helpful staff. The prices are reasonable, and it's a really fun experience! I am so thankful to Sade, who was beyond sweet, helpful, and encouraging to my 9 year old niece last night and had endless patience and kindness in helping her with her first ever clay experience! Thank you, Sade! (The only feedback I have is that the only project I completed here (last year) came out completely covered by the glaze, so none of my detail work showed through- maybe providing a heads up on doing more pronounced detail work or having thinner glazes would be helpful? It didn't bother me much, because I went for the experience and not the finished product, but it would have been nice to have had my work show!) read more

This is by far the best ceramics studio out there!! I have since moved away and tried other ceramics studios and just keep comparing everything to good life. The owner is the nicest guy and was always super helpful. The space isn't the biggest ever but they utilize the space well and have a ton of supplies, more than I've seen in other studios. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for studio time. I can't attest to the classes but the unsupervised time is a super good value! I miss the space! read more

What a fun place to spend time with friends or even on a date! Tonight I made a cat bowl for a friends cat with her name on it and little designs from all the accessories they provide to make a special one of a kind gift for the holidays. Vicky and Shade were really great in showing us how to work the clay and using all the different tools that were provided. I definitely will be coming back. read more

My office did a team event at Good Life and it was fantastic. They opened up early for us and they helped us understand the tools and methods in order for us to create our ceramic mugs and vases. They had some clay pieces we could practice on and then they turned us loose. The room is open and friendly and so was the staff. There was lots of friendly chatter and encouragement amongst the team - which is exactly what you want with a team event. After you complete your creation you pick one of the many glaze options and then a few days later your piece is ready. We are in Aptos and it was really cool that they delivered the pieces to our office at no extra cost. We will definitely be back! read more

Fun, addicting, and therapeutic! Been here about 4 times already and it's always been so relaxing. The owner, John, shows you the basics and different techniques of how to design your piece. All 4 times I've been here were walk-ins and I love how we get to play and design practice clay before moving on to the final piece. There was no limit on studio time and it's just overall a stress-free and calming hobby. I would make a membership if I knew about this place sooner and wasn't moving out of state. Love that I can walk in off the street and play with clay! This is not your typical ceramic "paint your own" place. You can design your own projects or make one of their suggested "walk-in" projects. The staff is helpful and will give suggestions when needed. Groups and individuals are welcome. Great place to create gifts for a variety of occasions. read more

This place is amazing. I've been there twice so far and it's such a laid back, soothing, & creative environment. My sister found the place and we love going! John has helped us the last two times and he's also super great. Really knowledgeable, helpful and also pretty dang witty. He puts up with a gaggle of loud girls with such ease. Very fun place to spend time with friends in santa cruz as an alternative to water activities.

I came upon this neat place while I was looking for something to do, to fill up some afternoon time. I was originally looking for a scrapbooking shop in the area, when the ceramics sign caught my eye. I went in and was cheerfully greeted, showed around and explained all the details to in a super casual, chill way by Jasper. I decided to make a piece and when I finished it, I got into the vibe of things there a bit more, I made 2 more pieces! Jasper was right there when I needed help and he was just fantastic and had great energy that inspired me to take more chances with my ceramic creativity. It was so easy and the people who worked there were really enjoying themselves. The whole place doesn't have one "rushed or hurried" vibe to it and everyone was talking to each other about their pieces. I am definitely going back ( besides picking up my pieces). I know I will be making some gifts for friends and family too! Thank You Jasper! For getting me Hooked on ceramics! read more

This place was awesome! Not only do they have open drop-in hours for anyone to make something, the staff is super helpful. It was a great date night outing--fun, creative, and relatively inexpensive. We spent $30 for two pieces, but that included a practice piece of clay for each of us to play with and try out designs as long as we wanted until we were ready for the real thing. We'll find out in a week or two what our final results look like. read more

What a neat place! Not like any other ceramics place I have been to. This is not a "paint your own" studio. Instead you learn techniques and get to texture and design your own piece. Went with my daughter today and used a Groupon. Was so pleased with the experience. The owner and his staff helped both of us with our projects. I made a tray and my daughter made a pencil box. We both learned how to texture and shape slab clay. This was a walk in experience. We had such a nice time and my daughter was so happy with her project that we signed her up for a week long kids camp. You really should check this place out. A local gem! read more

This is a great place to unwind and have fun. I had never worked with clay before and was sure it would not turn out well however I was able to create several really lovely items. I came in with my sister for a few hours - John the owner was welcoming and very available to answer all my questions and gave guidance when asked.
