So after asking some of the restaurant owners in Chinatown they directed us over to San San reflexology massage office. Now, it was 9:30 pm on a Thursday night, so most of the places that we looked at were already closed. But San San reflexology had us come in. We could pick different reflexology massages for i.e.:your feet, your back, your neck or do the complete package. We opted to just get reflexology foot massage. Granted, I felt like I was going into a Asian nail salon with them asking :" What do you like, honey?" But, I will say they were very accommodating for opening up their upstairs office to do our foot massages at so late a time in the evening. After taking off our socks and sneakers, and rolling up our pant legs to our knees, we were then given lined wooden buckets with hot water and a Chinese medicinal herb tea bag floating in it. Which we were to soak our feet for 5 to 10 minutes. Pleasant spa music played in the background. Then each of us had a masseuse start working from the bottoms of our feet up to our calves. They did the left foot first for 15 minutes and then the right foot. They did rolling and stretching, massaging, pulling and pushing, many deep tissue/fascia releases and finding the trigger points. If you need to the massage to be stronger or lighter, they accommodated your request. From the knees down to the ends of your toes, my feet were worked over. They ended the massage by wrapping our feet in a hot towel. For some of the workers, they speak in halting English, but you can communicate by showing. Thank you for fitting my friend and I in. Cash is best, but they do take cards as well.

There's also a giant "465" above the door so you know where you are, and I like this over-communication so there's no mistakes. Upon entering I was instantly greeted by a friendly person and when I asked about shiatsu massage she instantly said 60 minutes and I nodded, ok! After having previously tried 45 min and then 30 min, it seemed silly not to spend the extra $10 to level up the experience with the 60/60 deal. I was not disappointed with that decision! As soon as I lay down on the table I could feel my feet against the wall and when I told her, there was no response, so I knew she didn't have much English. Good enough though, no problem with Hello and Turn Over, but rudimentary for sure. She was fantastic, and the most thorough and professional so far with some new moves added that I appreciated, like lifting my leg up and over bending me backwards which felt great. That didn't sound easy for her but she did it, and I appreciate it. This may be due to the 60 minutes, I'm not 100% sure. There was some cheesy instrumental music playing in the background, which could have been louder but overall a pleasant experience. Starting with my first experience with rmt with expert Angela (miss you!) I noticed that when a massage is done right, my head gets congested (light headed too) and I feel like I'm getting a cold temporarily. This likely takes a longer 90 minutes to achieve and get in the zone, but Mia got close to this in the 60 minutes that we had. Makes me wonder what she could do in 90 : )

They almost always could accommodate me when I walk in. $28 for 45 min foot massage I don't bother remembering the masseuse name because I find it that Chinese massage places this cheap tend to have high turnover of staff. The service is pretty consistent though. Receptionist is always pleasant and prompt. Most of the masseuse speak little English, which is fine I guess because I speak little Chinese lol. So we both speak in mixed languages. I am not a chatter anyway when I get my massage. It's either I am browsing on my iPad or I close my eyes. They have tv with somsort of like a Chinese version of Netflix. If my pants are tight or if I am wearing a dress or skirt, I borrow a pair of short pants.
