Ate here for dinner tonight and got the green prawn curry and the fried rice with chicken! Both were a delicious meal in Germany!

Hands down the best modern Thai food in Berlin. The small storefront opens up to a cavernous eating area with many assorted sizes of tables. A large outside area is available when weather permits. The decorations here are authentic and unique, and the ambiance is very luxurious. It's a very popular place for lunch, as the surrounding area is full of high class offices, but the lunch menu is an excellent value (~10 euros for a meal and appetizer). In the lunch rush it might be difficult to get a table. In the Evening it's usually not a problem to walk in and be seated. Evening fare runs a bit more expensive than the usual Berlin prices, but the attention to detail present in every dish is well worth it. Every napkin is folded into an orchid and every meal is garnished with some sort of artistic food masterpiece, be it a radish carved rose or a turnip sculpted swan. Even the plates and silverware are varied and unique. The open kitchen invites everyone to watch them cook, and a large 'No monosodiumglutemate (msg) added' printed on the wall reassures us that what we taste is the result of quality and not chemicals. Highly recommended: The Sweet and Sour soup (if you like sweet and sour soup!) is amazing. The summer rolls are the best in the city. Before I came here I never liked Duck, but after sampling the Crispy Duck offered here, it quickly became my absolute favorite. Sick of all the heavy currywurst, bratwurst, & beer in Berlin? Head to GOOD TIME! The Thai food here is very much authentic and freshly prepared. I got the lemon grass chicken with a spring roll and I kept on thinking to myself that a restaurant like this in Los Angeles would make a killing. German PF Chang's but more expensive, slow, and bland. If you're in Mitte, it's okay in a pinch but really best avoided. Take the train for ten minutes and eat somewhere better. Thai food in the US is much better. read more

Great Thai restaurant just a few blocks from the Hilton hotel. We arrived at 9 and thought it was closed, it was not. The main dining area is in the back and it was very lively. Great atmosphere with a lot of energy, but not overwhelming. The service was great, the food was amazing and was brought out quickly and hot from the open kitchen. I would not return to this restaurant. Rude service from a server named Bi, who became unprofessional, started yelling and gave me an attitude when I asked about spice levels in the food. From there on out, she didn't ask me whether I wanted a drink, slammed things on my table and talked back to me every time I asked for something. I reported it to the manager Trang, who stated she would talk to the server but that she didn't know details so she didn't want to take "sides". For a customer-oriented establishment, they need to do better in addressing such issues and ensuring customer satisfaction. The rest of the wait staff was courteous and helpful, but I wouldn't return to this establishment given how they handled (or didn't handle) the one unprofessional employee. The food was ok; nothing to rave about -- at least not if you're used to authentic Thai food. Ordered the green curry, and the eggplant was too soft (also not Thai eggplant), curry was spiced with powder vice fresh green chilis, and beef was rubbery. read more

I was so surprised to find such a good Thai restaurant in Germany. The service was excellent, food came out fresh, fast and delicious. We ordered the pork belly, pad thai, pad see ew, red curry with some sort of meat, and their beer selection is great! Their outdoor seating is usually reservations only and is super cute. Drinks just a lot of ice with no taste. The summer rolls are clumsy. Main dish is ok, but I've expect better quality.

Unfortunately we did not have a "Goodtime." Service was slow and with attitude, even by European standards. The veggie spring rolls were slightly burned and came out before our drinks. My husband's order (pad thai, no tofu) came out with just tofu, and when corrected they forgot to make it spicy as he had specified. His water glass was dirty and when my husband asked about it, the response was "All our glasses are like that." Weird because my glass was clean. My Nori Goseng was actually pretty good and a huge portion, and the ambience was really nice. Too bad that so much else went wrong. Don't waste your money here. read more

Great pad Thai and curry chicken dish. Great value and casual dining considering it is in the touristy area. Spare ribs for starters were a bit sweet for my taste but spring rolls and sauce were excellent. Service was good and friendly. Place was busy for a Sunday night. Went with two couples on a Sunday evening. The place was well visited but not packed. Despite that the service was inattentive. It took ages for the occasional waiter to show up and our meals arrived separately over a period of 10 minutes. We skipped deserts after it caused the waitress by surprise that after she collected the plates and never showed up again we dared to ask for a desert menu. Clearly there is a problem with the employees' incentives. Nevertheless, the food was actually quite good and so were the cocktails, but with that kind of service this place will not see us again anytime soon. read more

There are plenty of cheaper and more casual Asian (Indian, Vietnamese, and Thai) eateries north of the Musueminsel, around HackasheMarkt metro station and a few blocks north in the heart of Mitte, but for something special come to this place on the other side of the river. Goodtime will not disappoint. The menu may be somewhat pricier (17-20 euros per person for a drink, a salad and a main dish), but the decor, the attentive staff, and the food presentation is worth it, especially if you've spent the greater part of your day browsing the museums nearby and need to relax and enjoy yourself. read more

Used to be one of Berlin's best Thai restaurants. Since it was taken over by another company a couple of years ago, streamlining is the main goal. The menu was condensed immensely, instead of thai vegetables you get bean sprouts, carrots and peppers in your dish (I did have 1 water chestnut in my meal though, so the menu wasn't lieing completely) and if you're really unlucky your tofu will be gone off (which the waiter will try to explain with just being a different taste since it's a natural product, but in the end still has to admit that it stinks and tastes bad). The only thing that went up are the prices and that quite a lot. The iced-tea is still nice, but you get an awful lot of crushed ice in it these days . It's a shame really. read more

This place is a nice surprise. I thought it would be a hovel when I first walked in (despite the Hausvogteiplatz location) but like Dorothy in Oz, a walk to the back reveals a totally different story...it is beautiful, and the food is great. By the way, they're not cagey about spice; hot really does mean hot. Never thought some of the best Thai food I'd have would be in Berlin. Nice neighborhood to walk as well. read more

Walked by Good Time and was curious because of the, not a lot of traffic out front and from the front two windows we thought ok, it's a small restaurant and only half of it was full so we decided to try and my friend wasn't to sure. But we walked the place was a buzz and there was another whole back section completely full and we didn't have a reservation, but they found us a table. And I was so so glad we stopped in. By far the best Thai food in Berlin. I will return every time I'm in Berlin. read more

The first point of view concerning this Thai restaurant lays on the awesome decoration, the quiet atmosphere makes you traveling away, what you appreciate the most, coming from the icy and stormy snow in February ! We felt comfortable in this wide and quiet space, that I would recommend for groups and for couples as well. Concerning the sarong that doesn't fit the whole staff (cf Staringattesun's review), that is just the inconvenience of uniforms. The staff is not chosen for their physical but for their skills, don't let be confused with a beauty race. I'm not a great specialist in Thai cooking, so I won't be able to deep penetrate into such details about the ingredients. All I can say is, after 2 dinners over there, it was not so bad, the decoration of dishes was quite elegant. The proposal of choice in different cuisines (Thai, Indonesian) shouldn't bother anyone as the target is based on discovery. So they probably don't earn to be criticized about this aspect.
