It's hard to review a business I haven't used, but the fact I haven't used them is the reason for…read morethe review. A client called me on a Friday to ask me to obtain a quote. I sent off a quick email to Superior explaining clearly I needed the quote *before end of business Monday*. I didn't make it easy for them, I admit, because the client had given me a theme description but no date or venue. But I wasn't asking for a full event proposal, just a quote on some rentals and staff. Monday at 11:30ish, I get an email from Lee at Superior saying he's leaving at 1 but we can talk "today or tomorrow." First indication he hasn't really read my email, since Tuesday obviously doesn't work for someone who says she needs the info Monday. He also says he has questions but, instead of asking them so we can start the ball rolling, suggests only that they exist and that I should contact him. Nice way to speed the process along when your customer's in a rush. He also manages to get my name wrong. I call him within minutes. We talk. He says I'll have something shortly. I call back a few hours later and Joanne tells me he's gone into a meeting, but will have him get in touch with me when he gets out. I call back AGAIN a few hours after that, and he's apparently gone from that meeting to another. It's now 20 minutes before the end of the day and when I explain to her that they've just lost a customer over this, now she gets proactive. Not enough to track Lee down or get me my missing information, but to refer me to someone else who can start from scratch only 20 minutes before my deadline. Apparently a new customer wasn't worth passing the file along, or asking someone to call me, or anything. He just left me hanging, screwing both me and my client. Want to use Superior? Go for it. I'm sure some people have had good experiences. I, however, was left hanging and let a client down because I relied on their promises. Post-script: He finally got back to me with a half-hearted apology and attempt to provide information at 9pm Monday, hours after my client had made her decision, and hours after the deadline I'd given him. My name was still wrong, and while he apologized for getting back to me so late in the day, he didn't really acknowledge that it wasn't just late in the day, it was past the deadline and useless.

We were blown away with their services from start to finish. They are thoughtful and observant in obtaining information from their clients about design preferences. When we received their design plan for us, we could not have been more thrilled. They captured all the elements of the design and wedding experience that we were hoping for and even suggested additional special elements (like a Tiki bar) that we hadn't thought of ourselves, but absolutely loved. Melissa and Morgan were also thoughtful in helping us plan the multicultural aspects of our wedding, weaving together seamlessly different cultural traditions. The end result was unique, elegant and received glowing feedback from all of our guests. In addition to all of this, Melissa and Morgan were extremely organized and on top of our wedding timeline. Of note, our wedding was not the easiest to plan, as we live in NYC and were planning during the pandemic. This did not prove to be a barrier as Melissa and Morgan held Zoom meetings with us and handled everything on the ground in Toronto until we had our final planning meetings in person. We felt completely confident in them, even as two type-A New Yorkers! Lastly and perhaps most importantly, they are an absolutel joy to work with. Contracted Melissa in the late summer and after…read moreless than 6 weeks had basically nothing from her expect pages of links to venues with zero value-add info or budget details. Email responses incredibly slow. As a result, we sourced our own venue and when the date was unavailable to Lustre events, we made the decision to release them. They refused to refund any portion of our $4k deposit. Over the course of 6 weeks, we estimate Melissa spent less than 3 hours on us, we never even met Morgan. We requested a partial refund (from our perspective this was generous) to which she immediately gaslighted us... launching into what appeared to be a heavily scripted response, it was clear she's done this to others, dishonest vendor, very important lesson to always read the contract! Absolute scam.
