Maybe I'm a bit spoiled because of my visits to New York and the huge availability in general in America. I don't think the bagels at Barnini are made fresh each morning. Bagels should not taste that dry. At least the Bagel Chick had a guacamole mayonnaise, but my husband wasn't so fortunate with the Bagel Deli. And if you're a bagel cafe, how can you only serve one type of bagel? If I were rating Barnini just on its bagels, I would give 3 stars. But my rating includes the ambience, which for me adds an extra star. Even though the bagels are average, I would love to go back for a coffee and pastry (the cakes and pies looked great) for breakfast or in the afternoon with a friend because the place is so gezellig.

Ik laat hier zeker mijn slaap niet voor, maar het is zijn dure prijs zeker niet waard. De beleving wordt volledig tenietgedaan door onprofessionaliteit. De bediening is kil en steriel. Dergelijke prijzen kan je enkel rechtvaardigen als het plaatje klopt. Als de kwaliteit EN de bediening EN de netheid EN de klantvriendelijkheid spot on zijn. Dit is veel te duur voor wat het is. Ik vermoed dan ook dat dit niet lang meer zal blijven duren. Als mensen 1 maal de ervaring gehad hebben... hier kom je niet terug voor een tweede high tea lijkt me... Kies een gezellige, charmante zaak, met personeel met een hart voor de klanten aan de helft of 2/3 van prijs. Just cross the Nassaubridge and walk right into the Nassaustreet and discover a new world filled with delicious bagels. Not only do they look tempting and attractive, they taste absolutly fantastic! Down from the marvelous crispy buns 'till the numerous variety of fillings such as roasted beef with celerysalad, smoked salmon and even nutella chocolat spread with banana. I can guarantee you will be surprised. The lady behind the counter speaks English and a bit of Dutch but she is still working on that last one :) Do have to say I find her polite and very friendly. She can really tell she's trying her best. So the only thing I can say is get yourselves over there and be Bagelamazed :) Vlakbij de dokken en het MAS vindt je deze Amerikaanse bagel en koffiebar. Both were very delicious and generously portioned, although I struggled to locate my eggs when my order first arrived! (They were hidden in the avocado).
