Ladty who answered the phone refused to provide any details at all other than to say she could schedule a free in-person meeting. My time is more precious than that. If you can't give me very basic information as ALL other law offices have, I will not be coming to you. This should have been a fairly simple request and if you had provided a reasonable range ($1000-$2500 in my opinion), then I might have scheduled that first meeting.

I'm an insurance broker for people over age 65 and all I was trying to do was find someone…read moretrustworthy and knowledgeable in Elder Law to refer my existing Medicare clients over to when they need a consultation on setting up a trust in order to qualify for Medicaid. The earliest appointment her office would give me was a week and a half after I initially called them. I was clear in my initial conversation with her assistant, Katie, that I only needed a 15 minute block of time to speak with Julie and I was interested in referring business to Julie without expecting any sort of compensation in return. When our scheduled appointment date and time arrived, I received no phone call. I called Julie's office and I asked Katie when Julie was going to call me. Her assistant told me that "Julie was busy with another client and wouldn't be able to speak with me at all today". I was shocked that I had to call in to Julie's office to find out that she was going to ignore our appointment that was scheduled a week and a half ago! Julie blew me off and didn't even extend me the courtesy of having her assistant call me in advance to tell me that a 15 minute meeting together was not worth her time. Personally, I would NEVER treat anyone like this, but I guess everyone runs their business in their own unique way. Dealing with Julie's receptionist today gave me a really good eye-opening preview of how my Medicare clients and their POAs would have been treated if I had referred them over to Julie for consultations and for their Trust documents to be drafted. Her rate is $275 per hour and she charges $1,400 to draft a simple Miller Trust document, so there are more affordable options available. As a small business owner myself, I understand that the need to reschedule appointments comes up from time to time, but to have so little respect for someone else and their time that you don't even bother to notify them that you won't be keeping your appointment with them is really low. I will never refer any of my clients in Arizona to Julie Martin. That's my personal experience with the Law Offices of Julie Martin Elder & Special Needs Law, PLLC and hopefully your experience is better than my own.
