My advice is to never lease a property from this company. I leased from them for many years and they did nothing but interfere with the running of my business. Goodman rent is high but every year without fail they charge over and above on their already ridiculously high outgoings! I always question the expenses and they even went so far as to have false job sheets and invoices created to charge my small family run business excessive outgoings and this was EVERY year! During Covid they went over the budget on outgoings, when half the estate was closed or working from home? If you asked too many question they use bullying techniques and threats so you will pay up.
During Covid they refused to give any rent relief to my business, even though the government had asked landlords to work with their clients. My business was closed for months and heavily impacted by group gatherings; they did not care at all and refused to assist. They waited until the government was not protecting business anymore and locked me out of my property without any warning or legal processes being followed at all! They have a law unto themselves.
(NOTE: all my rent was paid and up to date only the rent during my closure was due and I was trying to negotiate as per government regulations)
They refused us to even be able to remove any of our personal property as well as the half a million dollars worth of equipment that they locked inside! Which I was later informed is actually theft, as a company listed on the stock exchange with stakeholders, I wish I were able to inform investors exactly what kind of behaviour actually goes on if you're a leasee of one of their properties.
They forced the closure and liquidation of my perfectly viable business and ruined my reputation. These "Badman" ruined our lives and our livelihoods, and left so many staff unemployed in such hard times. They should be ashamed.
They lie, steal and rip off small business without a care in the world and get away with it due to the amount of money they turn over every year and fact they have deep pockets and there own legal teams.
As I said DO NOT LEASE from Goodman. You will regret it. read more
