I've never written a review before, but felt it was worth downloading the app just for this. I had the most ridiculous experience at Goodnight Moon. I have never felt more uncomfortable in a store in my life. The staff, especially the owner, were rude, pretentious and snooty. The owner followed me around the store, making sure to touch or adjust items on every table that I was perusing. Nothing subtle about it - she made it very clear she was watching me and I was not a welcomed guest. Cute store---Love the displays---the brands---the quality Don't care for the pretenciousness--but consider the area and that is sometimes what you will get. Don't care for the prices---not much in here for budget minded shoppers. Did not see any sale or clearance areas or racks... There were three people working this small square footage and waited until I had one foot out the door before choking out if they could help me or not. I have two little girls with an affinity for quality clothing and live half a mile from Goodnight Moon. I would be an ideal customer for this sweet store. Yet I've only shopped here a few times since my daughters were born. Why? Because every time I've gone in, I feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman who was asked to leave an upscale clothing store because she was out of place. I tried it out again today and have resolved never to go back. My daughters will be flower girls this fall, and I found a sweet little dress for one of them at this store. I reluctantly decided to purchase it and felt like an unwanted pariah all the way through the transaction. The store was filled with people who were apparently more desirable than I. Somehow I haven't passed the test. I won't return. There are fortunately many other options for beautiful children's clothing in the Twin Cities. read more

Upscale children's boutique in the 50th and France area, Goodnight Moon is a great place to but a baby gift for a mommy-to-be. The clothes lean more toward the conservative/preppy side, but they are all of high quality. They have these adorable back-zip cardigans that you can have your child's name embroidered on it. At first when I heard of this option, I was a bit skeptical, but it actually is quite adorable. I wouldn't however recommend it for a child that can understand language though, as the whole "stranger danger" philosophy advises against advertising too much info on your kid. That may sound a bit paranoid, but with the wave of attempted child abductions around the end of the school year in the Edina area, it's not a bad idea. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed in the return policy. They gladly returned my item for store credit, but they gave me a PAPER RECEIPT to hold onto. Not even some form of card stock. Seriously it's a receipt. I was like, can't you just put the money onto one of those plastic gift cards you just gave the woman in front of me? Apparently not. I didn't think that could have possibly been true, but what could I do? The saleswoman seemed totally overwhelmed with the computer in the first place, so maybe the policy is different, but she just didn't have a clue. Wouldn't be the first time... read more

Really cute children's clothing, but super pricey. I purchased a dress for my child and returned the same day due to my photographer canceling our shoot cause of covid. The cashier processed my return and sent me on my way. Ten some days later my money was never returned; I had my husband call the store to see what was going on. And we both could hear the conversation on the background from staff which was not pleasant. Thankfully the money was eventually returned. But really unfortunate treatment by this establishment and will not be ever returning. read more

This is an adorable store but their over the phone service customer service needs major improvement! Placed a call to the store today & was immediately asked if they could place me on hold. I agreed. The sales employee let me know that if the phone hung up on me I was to call back. Umm okay? I was hung up on and called back. I let the employee know that, "Yes in fact I was hung up on while on hold." She then rudely said, "Can I call you back" Excuse me? What? I understand they are a small store and were most likely busy when I called but the treatment was sub-par for a designer children's boutique. I would have rather been frustrated with the phone ringing & ringing then be placed on hold, hung up on and THEN rudely asked if I could be called back. Bummer experience. read more

wow, I always thought the staff was rude here, but then my parents came into town and they came home very disappointed, they staff treated them rudely and was almost appalled they would bring a child into a children's clothing store. if you are looking for cute kids gifts at 50th and France I would just go to Pacifier, the clothes are more modern and fresh - and the people who work there are actually pleasant and welcoming. read more

I just went in to do a customer return, the owner of the store handled the transaction, so I anticipated a great experience from a small business owner (not the case). The return policy is 10 days and anything outside of the policy is given a store credit. I was 2 days outside of the policy, and was not only denied a credit to my credit card, but the owner was smug and not friendly about it at all. It is one of those stores that clearly does not like returns. My advice is to have a bit more flexibility for your customers, you now are competing against Pacifier down the road and I would highly recommend that store over yours based on them realizing that retail only works when you treat the customers well. read more

This is a beautiful store and the clothing is exceptional. The products offered are high quality and classic. There are modern and fun options along with the opportunity to monogram a special dress or outfit for a grandchild or baby gift. This is our go to store for all the grandkids needs. My daughters love EVERYTHING we buy with and for them from Goodnight Moon. The staff is very helpful every time we shop. The parking is easy too! I am incredibly torn while writing this review. I just had my daughter 5 months ago after having 3 boys, so naturally, she is kind of spoiled. This store has AMAZING clothing, it is well made and beautiful! However, the service is TERRIBLE. I walked in with my friend, we both have several visible tattoos but otherwise look like normal suburban moms. I started picking out things for my baby, and while doing this, I couldn't help but notice the dark haired middle-aged employee watching me like a hawk. I moved to the other side of the store, she followed. She didn't offer any assistance or ask if I needed help, she just followed me like I was some sort of ex-con that was going to rob her blind and burn her store down. I asked her a question and made a comment about the little giraffe brand blankets that they carry, she turned her nose up and said if I wasn't going to purchase it then I needed to put it down. I had a little kid moment at this time, threw down the $400 dollars worth of clothing I had picked out on her counter and left. I will NEVER go back to a place that treats their customers like this! I would much rather pay for parking and walk a block down the road to The Pacifier-same type of clothing, MUCH MUCH better service! They even gave me balloons for my kids when I walked in there nearly in tears after I explained what had happened with the service at Goodnight Moon. My advice- GET NEW EMPLOYEES ASAP! I have never written a review on social media in my life, but I am really bummed about an experience I had at Goodnight Moon. I purchased a precious baptism gown for my daughter and I obviously had EVERY intention of using it. But my mother in law had a dress made out of her wedding gown material, and it is an exact replica of her wedding gown. Absolutely precious. Accordingly, I no longer need the dress anymore! I looked at the receipt and it said christening dresses are a final sale. I called the store to see if they have any exceptions and the owner told me that they have no exceptions. She said buying a christening gown is like "buying a wedding gown and they cannot be returned". However, she said "I understand your dilema". I am so shocked by this, I had to post. I do not feel like this is similar to purchasing a wedding gown, as wedding gowns need to be altered and are much much much more expensive. The baptism gown is still in the original bag and has not been opened or touched. What the owner doesn't know, is that I am a frequent shopper at Goodnight Moon and buy all of my baby gifts from there. I have purchased so much from this store, but I didn't want to tell the owner that when I called, because I think all customers should be treated the same way. I realize that the receipt prints "final sale" - but how are you suppose to know that ahead of time? Perhaps there is a sign at the register, and I didn't observe that. Shame on me if I didn't. But I would think that they could allow some leeway this one time - and allow me to return it. I am not going to use it and it was very expensive. I will not be returning to the store. Unfortunately, I also echo the sentiments from other reviews that they are very pretencious and make you feel uncomfortable. I will miss the cute merchandise! But I cant get it all elsewhere! Wow, stopped in for the first time to look for a gift. I received no welcome, no help and zero effort to make my experience pleasant. I was rummaging through stacks trying to find the correct size I needed while lugging around an infant the employee sat scowling at the register. When I checked out there was zero small talk. When I left I immediately had a bad taste in my mouth. I decided to head to pacifier on France Ave instead where I had a much more pleasant experience. The next day I went back to Goodnight Moon and returned everything. My second experience was even worse then the first. This time around there were two employees in assuming one was the owner. Again zero interaction or greeting to me as a guest. Instead as I proceeded to the checkout and stood there waiting they continued to talk to each other and do inventory, I could continue in but would rather not waste any more of my time and energy with these pretentious woman. RUDE! They will not last much longer! read more
