Cute spot located in Encinitas with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be a bit challenging, but the location has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service did not match the setting. Despite several open tables, we had a lengthy wait before being seated. Once seated, no staff checked on us for quite some time, and I eventually had to flag down a server just to order drinks and food. The restaurant was not particularly busy, although they may have been short-staffed that day. When the food arrived, the portions felt small for the price. The flavors were decent, but overall the meal was underwhelming given the cost. The bottom slice of bread on the chicken pesto sandwich was soggy from the pesto sauce. The "smash" burger looked appetizing, but the patty was thick and resembled a traditional burger rather than a true smashed patty. For the price point, it would also be nice if the burgers and sandwiches included chips or fries. During the meal, our server checked in only once, and we again had to flag someone down to receive the bill. Overall, this is a casual café with a pleasant atmosphere, but the service and value did not justify the premium pricing. With improvements to service and food execution, it could be a much better experience. read more

Both were generous portions and had tons of fun yummy toppings. We also got a small order of the fries to share which we both liked. Our server was super sweet and helpful. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so you shouldn't have trouble finding a table. Love this spot so much! All organic, grass fed and finished meats, well put together meals and friendly service all wrapped up in one. My partner and I both enjoyed our meals completely. I ordered the fried egg plate which comes with arugula, tomato and sweet potato hash. The flavor was just perfect! I didn't even need a sauce! I also picked up the bone broth with cilantro, turmeric and green onion added and that was so flavorful and delicious! My partner ordered the protein scramble which comes with pork sausage, grilled onion, mushrooms, cheddar and toast which he very much enjoyed. I had also ordered the strawberry matcha which was perfect too! Since it was raining and we had the pup we weren't allowed to sit inside, but it looked very comfy and cozy inside. The outside is always buzzing with energy too. Lots of space to sit and plenty of friendly servers around. They also have a gift shop with lots of goodies like snacks and local artist jewelry and cards. They even sell a couple cute plants on the wall. Definitely check out this place. Elk cheeseburger: 5/10 I was so excited to try it but the meat was dry and had no seasoning at all. The bun was extremely dry and crumbly. The only thing saving this burger was the thin slice of cheese and small amount of sauce on it. It was a good portion but wayyy overpriced. Smash Burger: 8/10 It was juicy and flavorful but not nearly as big for the price. Tallow fries: 6/10 They failed to meet my expectations. Tasted like regular fries. Great organic breakfast and lunch place. Incredibly fresh food and eggs that have deep flavor. The eggs are the star here- so fresh. Friendly and helpful staff. Menu has a nice variety. We had the vege scramble, breakfast burrito and the Baja scramble. Unfortunately they were out of chorizo for the Baja scramble and we had to substitute meats so it was just a scramble. The vege scramble was super fresh and they didn't overcook the spinach. Loved how they provided sliced avocado in the burrito! Tastes so much better than those that smash the avocado. What stands out here is the freshness of ingredients and depth of flavor for what you order. And A+ for giving sliced avocado. It's a cute location right on the 101 just a few steps away from Hansen's surf shop. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. My only criticism- it's a cashless restaurant but they didn't tell us that upfront. And, we didn't see the bill to check totals (and for hidden service charges), the waiter just shows you the total on a handheld screen. I made a Yelp account just to rank them and this'll likely be the only ranking I'll ever do because frankly I've never had such poor service. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I realize so many reviews are highly emotional and sensationalized reactions, but this is not one of those reviews. I waited 40 minutes and after that they gave me a refund without any food or any other sort of compensation for waiting (see the "VOIDED" on the screenshot of my receipt) after not starting my order at all because their kitchen is "a disaster" (their words, not mine). Everything was clean and fresh though. We dined on the patio, which was lovely. There's plenty of seating indoor and out, and the tables are spaced nicely apart. People-watching and seeing the city slowly wake up would have been awesome except for the high number of homeless wandering about. We came on a not-busy Tuesday morning, and service was not rushed. So, I order at the counter and tell the person at the register I'm going to be dining in and want 2 kinds of sauce. I told them where I would be sitting and they said they bring the food out when it was ready. 20 minutes in and I go to check on the food and they said it'd be out soon and they'd bring it to the table. 45 minutes in, I went to check again. Wooo! I'm on a review roll! Just reviewed Tsuruhashi in FV and came out here with a friend to try this place out after our workout! It is located on a busy street in Encinitas so expect parking to be a little bit difficult on weekends. Place does get busy as well so expect a wait. They can accommodate bigger parties as well but mainly outside. They do have a patio for outdoor seating incase you have a dog as well! We were quoted about a 25 minute wait for a party of 2 on a Sunday at 12:30pm. It did take about that time as well! We sat down and began to look at the menu. 100% organic as it is touted but the main dish that interested me was the protein scramble! I also ordered a iced vanilla mint as a beverage. My friend ordered a cashew vanilla latte and when our drinks came out we did ask our server for sugar. He took a long while and mind you the place is pretty busy so when the hostess came by we asked for sugar again and she forgot as well. Finally when our food did come out, our sugar came as well. Little bit of a fumble but recovered fine haha. The protein scramble consists of eggs, sausage, cheddar, mushroom. It is also served with sourdough toast and butter as well. Alone, the scramble tasted fine! But I would really suggest you add some hot sauce on it because it does enhance the flavors way more! My favorite though was my iced vanilla mint latte! The mint accentuated the vanilla taste which was definitely refreshing to drink. Definitely order this if you come here and you are a coffee drinker! Overall, this place is good. It was around $20 for my meal and it is a good amount of food and beverage for what you pay for. A little fumble on the service but that can always be fixed and worked on. So we wanted someplace that had outdoor seating and parking so we could watch the car as her bike was on the back of the car. This is located right on the street plenty of street parking. Although this is Encinita so parking can be a little bit tricky especially at lunchtime. Lots of healthy options for lunch, and they have a little market or you can buy some interesting items.
