The inventory has definitely grown and there's not as many "local Maine" items as there was. But it's all high quality, hand picked special things that need to find a home in your house. After hearing that they take part of their profits to help build houses for people that would otherwise unable to have a house I knew that this was a place to support. My first time in was to mostly scope out the joint. They have a furniture room, an electrical and lighting room, and the main room that consists of lumber, tools, cupboards, bathroom items, and more. While wandering I overheard a manager discussing with one of the volunteers that they usually look up the item and price it half of what local retail places would price it at. Yowzers! I like that! These prices gave me motivation for projects. My new place needed shelves in so many places that I knew If I went anywhere else I would pay a fortune. When I returned to the store the following day I did so with a list of dimensions for the different shelving projects I needed. Their lumber section is random lengths and types of woods so you need to use one of their tape measures to explore and find what is the right length. I somehow found all I needed! When I went to find shelf brackets a volunteer saw me pawing through the bin and walked over. She told me someone just donated a ton and they just hadn't been put out yet. She hurried behind the counter and came back with an arm load. "How many do you want?" Score! I have returned more than once since then to buy nails, screws, and scope out their tables which is next on my list. Right now they have tons and again everything is priced so reasonable that all seem a possibility for me.
