Dropped off some items to Goodwill today. It is usually very easy to drop items you want to donate. Today was a little different because a truck with a trailer got in line before me and they had a lot off stuff to unload. I could have been there 45 minutes for the unload. So instead I packed up my small load of three bags (pales in comparison to the trailer) and took them to the second Goodwill associate. She happily grabbed my items. By this time, there were two cars behind me. So, I had to do a car dance to get out of the queue. Alas, I was out and off to lunch. So ends my donation caper... read more

This particular Goodwill is smaller than a large format stores, but twice the size of the boutique Goodwill's. It's located in an older strip center on 183 next-door to a Dollar Store. Most of the floor is given over to clothing with a large shoe selection sitting on the shelves above the clothes. Every week they have a different color tag sale and on Tuesdays seniors save 30%. At the rear of the store, you'll find the aisles of glassware, housewares, appliances, electronics, and toys. They do have six dressing rooms, one of which is handicapped. The bathrooms here look very rundown and smell. Can't say we found anything worthwhile on our trip here. Check out the photos. read more

This location is okay, but not the best. I found a few long sleeved linen blouses here. They were reasonably priced. The inventory for furniture and decor was incredibly low and of poor quality. The staff was occasionally nice, but nothing over the top. I was looking for vintage items but did not find anything of that nature. read more

This Goodwill is nice and well organized. The racks of clothes run up and down the store and each rack is well labeled with the type of clothes, gender and the prices. One wall has a lot of books and CDs. The selection is ok and the price is inexpensive. The back of the store is full of housewares. The front corner was undergoing a remodel and it looked like the cases normally held jewelry of some kind. Currently, the store has a lot of Halloween costumes. This definitely is a good first stop to see if they have the Halloween costume you want before heading to an over-priced store. read more

This store has very low inventory. Most Goodwill's I go to the racks are stuff with clothes, while this one has huge gaps everywhere. Along with that, for not being one of the larger boutique style of goodwills, their prices would have you believe they are. Also I've walked through this store before while some of the employees who work in the back came out to the showroom floor with their masks down. I'd say it's a safe bet that they aren't wearing them in the back since they probably don't care, but they aren't even wearing them up-front either so who knows how sanitary this store is. And with that being said, not even the showroom floor employees are they great. I'm not greeted when I walk in, usually have to find a cashier as there's never one at the front, and I have to start the small chat or otherwise stand there in awkward silence. Overall, just a huge waste of time in my opinion. You'd be much better off driving 5 minutes north to the next goodwill. read more

Just wanted a few paintings or pieces of pretty art & chairs to refinish for my new apt, so I decided to stop in as I didn't want to pay top prices for new. They're all hit or miss & have that Goodwill aroma I don't care for, but they actually had some pretty decent things at very low prices. Even found 6-7 tops for a few $ each. Tip: Follow their FB page, as there are many sales they have each day. Sometimes it's 30-50% off certain colored tags. If you're 55+, they have an extra % off every Tuesday... I think all of them across the country do the latter. In any event, I visited on a 70% off a certain colored tag day & brought home a lot of cool things for $35, then went back following day for another $100 worth of stuff that filled the trunk again. Another tip: If you like it, grab it. I left behind 2 wooden chairs for $6/each because I already bought 2 & my trunk was filled 1st day... thought I'd visit next day... they were gone. One of the employees said merch goes fast & they restock most of it on Tuesdays. Neat store. Very nice employees & manager. 4* out of 5. read more

I have really nothing to say bad about this pl;ace. I bought a DVD player for $10 that still works. I bought a $5 coffee maker that lasted 7 months--at less than $1 a month, not to shabby! I bought a few other small household items here. You basically buy other people's crap for next to nothing. What's not to like? One this I do like about the Goodwill organization is, that they do reinvest. When you buy other people's crap here for next to nothing, the money does go toward job training programs, and other programs for the less-fortunate. read more

And, in a brilliant piece of foresight, they have a nice roof overhanging the donation area so that I could drop off a bunch of stuff last night even though it was supposed to rain a bit. I have no experience shopping at this particular location, I just know you should never, NEVER donate anything breakable here or it'll get smashed right in front of your eyes. Seriously, that's just what they do here. For some reason it's exactly the same destructive drama at the other Goodwill on 183; evidently they "train" their employees in the drop-off department to destroy donations before they ever get to the shelves. How they manage to find ANYTHING salvageable enough to sell is beyond me. Whatever you donate, whether it's an expensive computer monitor or a flat screen TV in perfect working condition, for some reason it's Goodwill Drop-Off working protocol for the guys there to literally toss them into a bin at least 6 feet away. Much like that FedEx guy tossed the computer monitor over a fence instead of ringing the bell. Apes like this don't deserve jobs ANYWHERE, except maybe making commercials for luggage..... Seriously, if you have something valuable and breakable that's in good, working condition to donate, DO NOT waste it on Goodwill! You might as well sell it on e-Bay or Craig's List, or give it away to a stranger via the Classified Ads. Whatever you do, just DON'T throw away anything breakable on Goodwill unless it's already broken! If it is already hopelessly unrepairable, then by all means, drop it off at Goodwill and let them recycle it. read more

I have been obsessed with decorating for Christmas this year. I had some extra time today, so I trotted in to see what treasures I could find. Oh, so many. I think my favorite item was a wreath for our front door that was $5.99. I just had to do a couple of touch ups and it's perfect. I am also always in the market for toddler clothes. This location didn't have a lot and it seemed sort of disorganized. If you're okay with digging around in the racks, then you'll eventually find a few good things. And with each item $2.49, it's a steal. Goodwilling may be my new favorite hobby. read more

I've donated stuff to Goodwill on 183 6-7 times in the last month or so. In fact, I have stuff in my car now I'm going to take there. They are always friendly and take your stuff, even if sometimes I suspect they throw it right in the trash. Their attitude has definitely kept me coming back, and made my willing to given them nicer things that I could have sold online. I liked this goodwill a LOT! The clothes were separated by color and type (i.e. long sleeves, jackets, etc). I found an awesome jacket for like 10 bucks and everyone that worked there was super helpful. They even told me on Wednesdays everything is half off! Crack is my Goodwill. Whoops! I mean Goodwill is my Goodwill. Shit. You get it. If I could go every day, I would. It's like a garage sale, but you don't feel weird about pawing through a bunch of (possibly dead) stranger's old junk! Sometimes I find old photos in the albums, and I totally jack those. One time I found a letter from 6 year old 'Rusty' inside a decorative box he gave to his beloved teacher. You bitch! You just threw it in the Goodwill bin right after school, didn't you! Another time I found a letter written to nobody by some 13 year old mexican girl describing in painful detail her plans to create bootleg Justin Bieber T-shirts with her uncle. This stuff is GOLD. Any need you have, Goodwill is that knick knack drug dealer down the street that will distract you from that need, show you a ceramic sheep jumping over a seashell rainbow, and steal $1.99 from you. Just like that. Do you need milk? Fuck milk. Go buy a book about teaching toddlers how to sign in Portugese. Don't have a toddler? You can probably get one at Goodwill. read more

I usually find this location to have a fairly decent selection of dresses so I visit fairly often. During this visit I unfortunately met an incredibly rude employee or volunteer. I finished making a purchase inside when I remembered I had a bag of clothing in my car to donate. I grabbed the bag and walked it over to the donation bin. Before I could dump it I was scolded on "cutting on line" in front of the cars who had many, many boxes were requiring help to drop of their donations. It was embarrassing and so I just left, taking my donation with me. To make it clear, I needed no assistance to drop off my donation, I needed no receipt for tax purposes, the bin was right in front of me, and it was acknowledged that I could dump the bag in myself. Please don't scold people trying to do a good thing. I can and will take my donations and business elsewhere. read more

Stopped in search of a Halloween costume and left with casual, playful staples for my fall & winter wardrobe. The clothes is primarily arranged by color and not by size so you really have to be patient when you rummage through the racks. Granted, for every gem you may find, you need to plow through twentysomething articles of worn clothes that will either make you laugh or cringe. Some of the great , gently worn (and a few new with tags) clothing I came across the racks were Talbots, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Gap, Dockers, Expres, NY & Co, and Nordstrum. ( I even found a pair of almost new 7 for all mankind jeans!) I looked for clothes for my two year old and did not find anything for him. The little boys clothing was very worn or loud & cartoon character laden. I am looking forward to returning in the spring for more fun clothes. read more

Man Goodwill sucks now. They don't arrange any of the clothes by sizes anymore...THEY ARRANGE BY COLOR! I can't even believe that. Just to find something your size you have to look through every 70's leisure suit and 13 yr olds B-team soccer jersey on the rack. I asked the manager why they stopped arranging by size and he said because they couldn't afford it anymore... Goodwill is a horrible horrible place and no one should shop there because of the way they treat employees. They have no morals whatsoever it's appalling. My disabled daughter was able to get a job there which I though was really great at first until they actually had the absolute disregard for the law and fired my daughter from her first job for her disability. I have obtained an attorney and will be suing Goodwill just to show my daughter that it was not ok for them to have done what they did. They scared her and yelled at her and she was getting paid less then anyone else in the store. I still can't believe that a non profit that claims to help people fired a 16 year old because of her disability. They should be ashamed of themselves as a company. I used to shop there a lot and donate money and items but now everything goes to Salvation Army. I just wish I could expose their horrible business practices. read more

Is goodwill becoming shady? I won an auction for some electronics and it turns out they can't be activated so I returned them to get my money back, they refuse to give a refund in cash, only a gift card. So let me get this straight. Here is a non profit company who receives free items some of them apparently stolen and put them up for sale, everyone already knows that most of the money spent there doesn't make it to people in need. So why can't I get cash back after being scammed? Being non profit there shouldn't be a problem returning my money for a stolen item they sold me. So where's the money go? Don't try and argue about getting cash over a card either, they are not beyond calling the cops and wasting their time to remove you when you insist on a refund. The cops were in total agreement with me but they are powerless in these matters and was just called to remove us, everything was civil, they just didn't want to deal with it. read more

To be frank, Veronica is the most disrespectful, narrow minded loser that I've had to deal with in quite some time. After some time of volunteer work and doing what I had been asked to do, I went to use the restroom. Within seconds a man walks to the stall door and says "Are you volunteering?" "Yes...currently using the restroom." After stepping out Veronica( a hard-on-the-eyes, extremely rude old woman that is clearly such a jerk because she has lived through a majority of her life and has nothing to show for it [unhappily working at a goodwill, HA] ) says "You can leave, I crossed off your time for today" I calmly asked why and she rudely retorted with "A worker went in the bathroom and saw that your feet weren't on the ground in the stall so you must have been sitting with your legs crossed, so how could you have actually been using the bathroom? Get out." I asked why they would look on the ground in the stall to begin with and said that I had just walked in to use the restroom and hadn't done anything wrong. *Who sits on a toilet with their legs crossed? This woman has a poor grip on reality. "Quit arguing with me or I'll never let you help here again" AS IF I WOULD? I am ashamed to have given ANY help to this establishment. Filth. If you donate any fragile items here, the ogres in the back can (and will) break them. All clothing items here are dirty/unwashed. I've seen multiple used toilet brushes for sale here at $3.99. I also saw a tiny vial of bubble-blowing-soap priced at $13.99. A majority of things here are damaged and priced higher than they would be had you gone and purchased them brand-new. ...And yes, I made this Yelp account just to share this terrible, frustrating experience. read more

I actually will never step food in one of these again, especially after what happened when I dropped off a trunk of items to Salvation Army next door. Right after I unloaded my car on a sunday, I was sitting in my car a lil down the lot calling my family when i see two guys walking over from the Goodwill dock and start picking items out of my drop off for Salv!!! They grabbed some things and took them back to they loading dock of Goodwill and vanished. If I had more time I would have just walked in after them, smacked them upside the head and taken my donations back to where they belong. But so much for dreaming. A week later, I went in goodwill to snoop, and low and behold! My shirts and jacket where up for sale!!!!! When I asked the mgr how this happened he told me that they just looked like my clothes and that they get so many its easy to see the same things over and over. So I nicely asked him the odds of seeing 4 items identical to mine, in the identical size and condition one door down from where i dropped them off a week ago .... he shrugged. I live very close to this store so come in frequently. It's always a very hit or miss experience, but I've gotten a lot of nice things over the years. My one issue is that they keep their dressing rooms locked and you have to search for an employee with a key. Not always an easy thing and can be extremely frustrating. read more

This place is a RIP OFF. Prices are way too high. $7.99 for a worn pair of warm ups? $6.99 for a tiny girls purse? A year ago, my husband needed a suit to wear to a funeral. Found a nice one for $20 but a few hours after buying it, he saw there were holes in the sleeve. He ended up borrowing one from a friend so I took it back to the store. I was told that I could only get store credit, so I said that's fine.I walked around with my daughter and only found a purse. I decided to just get the purse for her thinking they would subtract it from my store credit. When I got to the counter, I was told I could only get credit in CLOTHING! Not anything else in the store!! I actually couldn't believe this policy. I've never heard of such of a thing. What's the difference in what I buy with my store credit??? Then when she asked me if I wanted to buy the purse my daughter had put on the counter, I said 'Okay fine." When she told me over $7.00, I said I thought it was .99 cents. I looked down at the price, it was $6.99! Their stickers prints out the numbers far apart. I told my daughter to put the purse back and I walked out with a useless suit. read more
