Salvation Army on Main st. in Nashua, Families in Transition in Manchester, or shelters are all doing good with your donations besides getting rich. $749 MILLION IN 10 YEARS! The Goodwill shop in Amherst is the nicest thrift store I've ever been to. Staff are professional, kind, and incredibly helpful. Senior and military discounts make shopping here well worth the trip! read more

We made our first trip to this Goodwill Donation center this morning. Although the staff was polite, they rejected several of the items we wanted to donate. It was not a good experience. We've recently donated to Goodwill at other locations and they would always take everything. Presumably they would discard anything they deemed unsellable. Not here. We had to take the rejected items back. None of the items we were forced to take back were on their "Unable to Accept" list. This appears to be a "hit or miss" proposition, depending on how the Goodwill employee feels at the time. For example, one item we wanted to donate was a near new accessory cargo net for the bed of a standard pickup truck. Rejected. What a shame. We always welcome an opportunity to help those in need and set aside new or lightly used items of value that can be used by others. This Goodwill location makes donating difficult. The staff at the Donation Center are rude to the point of being obnoxious. They wouldn't accept the furniture and no one helped to get items out and back into the car. I will not be using this store again and will most certainly never donate. read more

The best changing booths of any thrift store I've ever been in! They have sold locking doors. I have been to a thrift (a Salvation Army)that had rickety changing booths with those venetian blind type of doors that didn't lock from the inside-led to many socially awkward incidents.This led to my appreciation of solid-walled changing booths with working locks. They have chairs inside and mirrors (I'm referring to YOU -David's Bridal- for contrast). The changing booths are HUGE, at least 5 feet wide X 7 feet long! The lighting is more natural than most too. Unfortunately the store is tricky to find and access from Amherst St, it's just stuck in a weird spot. I like Goodwill's environmental initiatives such as: No longer providing disposable shopping bags. Bring your own bags or buy one or just use your hands. Look around in the trees and shrubs, you'll find plenty of plastic bags choking the landscape. They also have the lights a bit dimmed, like other stores on Amherst St, such as Target, to reduce electricity use. The employees are friendly and helpful, the music isn't too loud, the store is well-organized. Overall it is a nice relaxing place to shop. read more

Pricing used dvds at $10, and beat up shirts for $20 is horrendous. It's sad to me that people who may have depended on places like this are now being priced out by greediness. The audacity is high at goodwill, do not shop there. read more

I like this store a lot! First of all, the personnel are very friendly. They also have a large number of items and always on the specials every week, just like all the goodwill stores. I almost always go out of here with an item or two or three. Things tend to be where they should be. Note that as an all goodwill stores you now have to bring your own bags. The only things I don't like where the "new" items which were made for a good well I think. They tend to be an expensive and worth every little penny... They are very cheaply made. Gross, after every visit i feel dirty and like i need a shower. In the dozen times i have been here i have never seen a piece of furniture, shirt or record worth getting. Which are my top items. I am not sure where they get the new stuff in that area but it looks to me to be trash also. End shelf's probably have the tackiest stuff i have ever seen in a store and you would have a slightly higher quality of items if you shopped at the still good shed at your local transfer station. read more

Husband just returned from Goodwill store with items that we wanted to donate. Items were in good condition and certainly could be resold. One was a booster seat which had been seldom used only when granddaughter came to visit. Person working at the Goodwill said they did not need any items and refused to take them. We are now only a throw away society. I will never donate again to the Goodwill. read more

What a fantastic Goodwill! The best customer service too. I shop all the local Goodwill's and this one hands-down is the best for name-brand clothing and quality goods donated! You can always feel good about shopping at the Goodwill because the proceeds fund a wonderful nonprofit organization for those in need. Goodwill also has always been good to their volunteers. I love to donate and shop the Goodwill locally and I highly recommend others do the same that are on a tight budget like myself. I can't tell you how many compliments I get regarding my outfits for work and all of them have been purchased at the Goodwill! read more

Thank you, wealthy people of the area for donating your good quality, name brand items to this location. ;) On one occasion I found three pairs of pants & jeans for myself & my husband found several nice sweaters. We're usually shopping for kids clothes though. For some reason we're always able to find nice things for my youngest but almost never find anything for my oldest - go figure. Most things are donated so make sure you check for holes or stains. There are always some of those but there are great, designer or "mall brand" items too. They have some new items like shoes, hats, toys, underwear, seasonal stuff... And there's a "neighbor made" area which is neat - local artisan-made things like the Little Scoot wooden toys, beeswax candles, wallets, etc. Worth a look! read more

Don't get any respect at all when you drop off . Was treated very rudely by a young man with long pony tail ( really could care less what he looked like ) but he was rude beyond rude ! Will never donate at this location again ! Very poorly managed store ! read more
