There's nothing like the death throes of an antiquated technology or format to warm the cockles of my heart. Take CD's and DVD's. What were once the cool digital kids when Bill Clinton was turning 1600 Pennsylvania into a fraternity house... are now the stuff of landfill legend... and most thrift shops. I've long been a fan of physical media not trusting the permanence and/or reliability of the cloud or the ever changing landscape of streaming. That's where Goodwill comes in. Why pay twenty bucks to Amazon for music or movies when lightly used classics can be found strewn among a few hundred Jane Fonda workout tapes with change back from your dollar. Sure it takes time to shift through the crap but Beatles remasters and a Blu-ray Citizen Kane for couch coin is certainly worth the time. Not worth the time is that pair of Calvin Klein jeans. PROS: This is a nice goodwill near the Trenton area. The prices for most items are reasonable and the staff is very nice! They have a good selection of items, a good amount of parking, and solid hours CONS: Everything is unorganized and messed up on most of the shelves. Despite some stuff being priced well I did see many cheap items, like dollar store items, priced even more than the original price OVERALL: I will come back here when im in the area, but just double check on the prices. its hit or miss read more

Location: conveniently located on route 1. There is a decent amount of parking. Size: this is a smaller store Variety/quality: I was hoping that given the proximity to Princeton New Jersey that there would be a great variety of quality items and higher end labels. There were not. Interestingly there was also very limited selection. Possibly because of the size of the store. Cleanliness/Smell: it isn't well kept. I didn't see fitting rooms. There were a lot of clothes on the floor. Overall it's not a great Goodwill and thrift store. Not even worth going for a treasure hunt. If you're in the area red white and blue will definitely offer you a better selection and quality. read more

Prices in store have increased to the point I will no longer shop nor donate anything. Completely ridiculous! I can shop clearance on brand new items in regular stores & get better prices on new stuff. I have donated many items over the years, but I'll be finding a new place to donate instead of having Goodwill overprice items that are much higher than an actual resale price! Terrible, especially for the surrounding areas (Trenton, Hamilton, Ewing) where people are not on budgets to afford any longer. They also, no longer offer $1 Sundays. This used to be a great way to bring in a lot of customers & sales for Goodwill. Unfortunately, they no longer offer this & prices have dramatically increased!! read more

Went there for the first time yesterday and got some steals! From a Ralph Lauren button down for $4 to an Urban Outfitters romper (still new with tags!!) for $10, this place has good inventory-- or at least I went there on a good day. The sorting of items is pretty neat and I saw workers sorting clothing back. The place itself isn't the most aesthetically pleasing and I did feel like I was coughing up dust 95% of the time. Buying wise it was a good experience but environment wise could've been better. read more

Unorganized, overcrowded and overpriced for a thrift. Most merchandise poorly displayed and their window dresser needs to be shot! Not a lot going on for men here although I did find a great raincoat about a year ago. Wife always able to find high quality shirts but agrees with the overpricing. She also said that management at this particular location doesn't respect their customers or staff, based on observation. Staff can be uncouth to customers too and their are no bathrooms for customers, which is very inconvenient and probably illegal. This still doesn't stop the steady flow of shoppers they get, especially on Sunday when they drastically reduce prices to encourage merchandise turnover. Worth a visit since there are a plethora of thrifts to choose from in the Trenton area and you can make a day of it... you never know. As usual, Judge for yourself. read more

Best time for furniture is Saturday between 1-7 P.M. Problem is that a lot of out of town dealers swarm this place like vultures. Saw one dealer get 7 wooden ELLO designer chairs for $6.99 each. And leather couches for 34.99. Worth fighting the dealers for. No jewelry or watches ever. Sunday is $1.00 clothes day, but once again the Ebay vultures relentlessly swarm over there like animals. read more

Always a disorganized mess. Mostly same junk on the shelves which is unusable. I have donated to this particular Goodwill and have also shopped here too. I am pretty sure all the quality stuff in the back never makes it to the front and goes out the back door (I did not see any of my donations in the store) Its a shame that people donate their stuff presuming it will benefit the poor and needy but just goes to the shrewd and greedy. On a positive the workers are okay. Having been to other Goodwills this is one you should skip not worth your time. read more

This location has gone downhill fast. My last few visits have been disappointing at best. Most of the inventory is just junk, and the shelves have been mostly empty the last 2 times I've been through. This is no longer worth the time to stop into anymore. read more

Updated 3/17/17 - The good thing about this and all Goodwill stores is that its proceeds go to good charitable purposes. Red White & Blue and many other "thrift" stores are strictly FOR PROFIT and should be approached with that in mind by both buyers AND anyone looking to get rid of unwanted clothes. Next door is a Goodwill Medical Supply store - sparkling clean used equipment and new supplies. For a great chance of finding vintage, designer and funky finds, try Second Time Around on Main St in Pennington. Their prices are higher, but all the proceeds benefit community nonprofits through the Social Justice Ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton. Many of the donors are affluent Princetonians, and the quality is excellent. read more

Not a comparable location to many other Goodwills if you are a lover of fashion looking for some unique vintage or just interesting second-hand clothing. There are very few accessories (hardly any jewelry...even costume jewelry), the shoes comprise a terrible and small selection, and the handbags did not yield any remotely interesting pieces. I still found a beautiful vintage handmade coat for $12.99 though, so this trip was definitely worth it. My advice is that if you've decided to go cheap thrifting in Trenton, go to Red, White & Blue first, then to the Goodwill as a later resort. The sheer volume and turnover of merchandise at Red, White & Blue makes it more likely that you will find some treasured stuff when rummaging around. In both stores, however, finding something amazing is no guarantee... it's very hit or miss, mostly miss, as most low-end thrift stores are. read more

Goodwill is a little dirtier than I'd probably like it to be, but I really can't believe people are reviewing it poorly. You are getting other people's stuff that they are just trying to recycle, don't complain about how the purses were not to your liking. It's not like I'm at an Ann Taylor LOFT; Goodwill has no control over what gets donated, so to complain about the items within the store in a review is insane to me. The staff has always been friendly enough, and the place is big with different sections for different stuff. There's a donation area around back and every time but once that I've gone, staff was always on hand to help me out. I do have to agree with other reviewers about mess, poor organization, and a slight smell, but overall I do feel that it's worthy of four stars. read more

You have to really search for things and take your time. The clothing is never sized and I never find anything stylish anyway. I mostly come for the cheap movies and games. Once I found an authentic furla bag for 3.99! That's was the best thing to come from here. read more

This is an average Goodwill in terms of niceness and in terms of selection. There are much nicer Goodwills to shop at, and Goodwills with better selections, but this one is just about what you'd expect: odd smell, sloppy shelves holding all kinds of oddities, and the occasional gems, donated by someone with exactly your taste, that will keep you going back from time to time, just in case... read more

My friend came home after several months in a hospital and rehab place, still having a very difficult time walking. I was able to get her everything she needed: wheelchair, walkers, cane, commodes, and for a very reasonable price. The people in the store were very helpful, explaining everything and helping me find what I needed. They couldn't have been nicer. When she was getting around better, I took her to the store, and the people who helped me remembered me and were very welcoming. read more

I love this place! It's never too crowded, so there's such a relaxed vibe to it and they play good music. There's always great treasures to be found here, and for so cheap! Every day there are 2 colored tags marked 50% off. Sweaters are $5, jeans are $7, and tops are around 3, depending on the type. Best of all, there ARE fitting rooms, and they DO take credit! read more
