Frequent the stores, fan of thrifting. Went in on lunch break to find pair of tights. I used to know right where the were. Store has been redesigned. Sent majority of my lunch searching store. I asked employee and was directed to wrong area, had to ask again. Found them, waited in line for the 1 checkout. Spent my whole lunch already. I asked mgr at unused register if they ould be held until 5pm that day. I had to come back, I spent my lunch already just looking for the 1 item. She said YES, she would hold, reminded me that closed at 6. Went right back after work, waited in line again, Mgr register. I reminded her I was there 4hrs ago she was holding tights, gave my name. She said, No that was yesterday. I put them back. Nope, it was today. Few hours ago, I asked if she dated it. She didnt, she put it back. Told me to go look, maybe still there. It wasn't. She argued and Yelled at me while I was leaving. "I DIDN'T HAVE TO HOLD THEM AT ALL. What do you want me to do." No, she didnt have to, but said she would, knew when I was coming back. Best goodwill in the area. Dresses and media and basically anything that isn't clothing other than dresses are usually pretty well priced.

Goodwill in Augusta ME lost a customer. I had a few things to donate. First of all, I was in a line that was 5 cars deep. And the worker (an older man) was holding up each item and scrutinizing it and this went on and on. The car behind me left. I stayed because I truly thought I had nice things to donate: a Jack Lalanne juicer (that we bought for over $300. but were not using it). Also a 5 cup programmable Mr Coffee, and a box of Christmas items: stockings, wooden bead garlands, etc. When my turn finally came, he did the same thing to me. Actually t aking the coffee pot out into the sunshine and looking up and down and turning it around and then said "NO, I cannot sell this in my store. It's got a dirty tube." He did the same with the juicer. I did not even bother with the other items, and left. I had cleaned these items carefully and thought they were presentable. My favourite​ Goodwill store in the area. I usually end up walking out with something even if I never intended to. They have a large offering of home goods and furniture items in the back of the store. This area can tend to get a bit congested at times depending on how stocked with inventory they are. They also have a large selection of mattresses which seem to be new and in packaging for a cheap price. They have ​friendly and helpful staff. We purchased a bed frame​ that we thought would fit in our car. Turns out we're really bad at estimating sizes. The frame didn't​ fit and we thought we had just wasted our money. Luckily Goodwill held onto the frame until we were able​ to pick it up with the right sized vehicle. read more

I purchased a brand new box spring and mattress on February 24, 2023 and less than 1 week later the wood slats in the box spring broke and is no longer able to be used. I tried to return and they informed me it was all sales final when out the door. Not what their receipts say. I have filed a complaint with the State if Maine and am also pursuing a complaint with Better Business Bureau. First time visiting this location and at this point will be my last time. read more

Although I do have allergies and yes this place does make me sneeze, I still continue to come here for cheap kid's clothes (why do they have to keep growing like that?? Why can't they stay small and cute??). Anyway, I usually find a fair selection of clothes that fit my kid, so I can't complain about that. I will say that sometimes things are priced higher than I think they should be. Come on guys, this stuff was donated to you... Give us a break. The clothes are to much money for what you get,you can shop at tj max for cheaper prices and they are new..The store always smells,the restrooms are gross..The color tag 50%off is a joke! There is never any barbs of that color..maybe size 44 or 2...they need to tag more things that people will buy.. read more

What happened to the days when we poorer folks could afford GoodWill? Growing up with no money meant hand-me-downs only, until we were old enough to babysit. My sister and I counted on the original GW on Water St and their 99 cent racks, and the GoodWill wearhouse monthly sale when you could buy clothes by the pound. My, how the past thirty years has changed a good thing! After seeing some of my donations being sold for more there than I paid for them, new, I started dropping my clothes in the Planet Aid bins, instead. Also, some lady who worked there sneezed all over my change and I got the flu within days. Did you know that the CEO of GoodWill is a millionaire? Hunh. Imagine that. I can't afford to shop there, anymore, for half-worn, pilled, stained clothes. Plus, it smells like pee. read more

The building is very nice--items are well organized, clearly labeled. We didn't have any problems with foul smells while we were there. There were a lot of new items being sold still in packaging--reminded me more of a Big Lots but with discounted clothing. My one issue was the pricing on the items: most of the clothing was priced higher than one usually finds at Goodwill, and some of the new items were priced higher than you might get them for at other stores. Very nice place, but could be disappointing if you go there looking for good deals. read more
