We came here for lunch on a Friday and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of a wait. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced at $11.92 per dish, which is a great deal. This way we can order a variety of items to try even though there was only two of us. The service was commendable--our waiter was the only one working, yet he was attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The food, however, was a mixed bag and left some room for improvement. The stir fry pork was decent, but the flavor profile was one-dimensional--just sweet. I wish it had more char and the onions could have been grilled a bit more to add depth. The Steamed Egg with American cheese on top sounded intriguing, but the execution fell short. The cheese didn't melt properly and ended up separating from the egg, plus it tasted overly processed and didn't complement the dish. The Kimchi Cold Noodles were refreshing, but I missed the usual mustard and vinegar that typically accompany cold noodles. The noodles themselves weren't as chewy as I'd hoped. The Beef Tofu Soup was the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful with just the right amount of spice, making it my favorite dish on the lunch menu. Unfortunately, the Cream Udon was a complete miss. The sauce was watery and tasted like boiled milk, with no discernible flavor. I would definitely skip this one. On a positive note, they serve five different banchans, and the cucumbers were a standout--reminiscent of the cucumber salad from Din Tai Fung. We visited this restaurant for lunch today, and unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing. When we walked in, there was only one other table and one server. We stood at the entrance for a while without being acknowledged, even though the server and kitchen staff clearly saw us. During the meal, the server accidentally dropped a piece of onion onto my child's seat. My son picked it up and placed it on the table. Shockingly, the server later picked up that same onion and put it back onto the grill, without any apology or comment. This raised serious food safety concerns. To make matters worse, after grilling our meat, the server brought the entire plate to another table before returning it to us, again without explanation. We were also not given any dipping sauces until we specifically asked. The food itself was flavorful and well prepared, but the restaurant had only two tables at the time, and this level of inattentiveness and lack of basic service was unacceptable. Who's in the mood for a premium Korean bbq experience? Because I might have just had the best Korean bbq I've ever had.... last week. Finally!! Gooyi92 is a new Korean bbq place in Irvine that below me away with quality of their meats and their intestines. We got one of set of the meat that had tripe, small intestines, large entails and it comes with steamed egg,(cheeseeeeee!) and soybean paste stew!! And I've been a huge fan of small intestine recently. the steamed egg comes with cheese and is the best!! We also got some meats to cook in our own grills prime ribeye cap steak, of which they only allow five orders per day! It's considered by some to be the best part of the ribeye. Some other must tries include the beef Tartare. Unfortunately they're currently open for Togo. But you can enjoy their Togo food at the patio. read more

That's when they offer more affordable options at $11.92 like stir-fried pork, etc. No beef options for their special though Pretty much everyone at the restaurant were ordering the lunch special, which makes the most sense/value here. I made the mistake and ordered the Prime Ribeye $51.92, which was not worth it at all. I think they need better dipping sauce options for the meat. The tripe fried rice was $9.92 and it was very super spicy, but also small portion. The banchan was not as impressive; there were no pancakes. This isn't your typical BBQ place where you cook it yourself; the server does it for you. I can see people come here for the lunch special, for the most value, but I don't find the other choices worth it. read more

Fantastic bbq place. GOOYI92 is now open in Northpark plaza. Wait time was 30 min on Saturday night. Very polite stuff and servers. They check my temperature at the beginning. They use a lot of tricks to serve people during Pandemics. I wish I could try everything on the menu. The quality of the meat was premium and it melts in my mouth. It was the best Beef Tartare I've ever had. You must try this place! 10 Stars deserved. Definitely will come back again. read more

What can I say, AMAZING food, AMAZING service. My family tried the Gopchang combo, Prime Ribeye Cap Steak, Marinated Short Ribs(kids love it). Everything was ssssso perfect. Side dishes, sauces, salad, it went so well with food. Just awesome service, super fast and taking all the precautions during COVID. Can't say a single bad thing about this place. He cooked most of our meat for us and refilled anything we needed and asked if we needed anything. Beyond the food quality, I would go back juat because of the service quality.
