With two sitting stalls and 2 standing urinals you are sure to find sweet release a breeze in this biblioteca. The stalls are well stocked with tp and the electric hand towel dispensers are on point. Things to note (and the reason I am only giving 3 stars) - the soap dispensers, while foamy and stylish, are not always reliable, with some not working at all. The motion activated faucets, at least the 2 that work, shoot out torrents of water at speeds that would make Maverick jealous. The spritzy deluge often deflects in unintentional directions, thereby opening the door for the uninitiated to have a haphazard hose-down of unexpected proportion. If you don't mind the surprise super soaker spigots you're sure to simply swoon in the splendor of this sublime bathroom. Safe travels and may all your undies stay white.

I took the Basic Motorcycle Training Course at the DDS in Dalton. It was taught by John Ringhoffer…read moreand Bart Williams. It was an excellent class. I expected this to be mainly classroom work and a little time on the bikes but I was pleasantly surprised. The bikes are furnished by the state and are all in excellent condition. I would say that 70-80% of the class was was on the bikes. We did numerous well thought out drills with lots of practice. I came in being very hesitant on my bike and left feeling 100 times more confident. I highly recommend it for even riders with some experience and for those thinking of getting one. You will know for sure if motorcycles are for you after this class. You get a discount on your insurance and for 90 days after the course you can just go pay the fee and get your M class GA license. John and Bart were great. Super passionate about motorcycles and a wealth of knowledge.

We had a trip to the Vann House on our radar for quite some time. They do an annual candle-lit…read moretour of the house and a few buildings on the grounds. And I'm glad we went! This place was quite the glimpse into our state's past. There's enough here to make any history buff happy--a wonderful educational experience for all ages, with an interpretive center that is rich with information. The house is a very nicely restored Mansion once owned by a Cherokee Chief, James Vann. Construction on the house was completed in 1804. The "Friends of the Chief Vann House" take a great deal of pride in their restoration efforts, and there are plenty of volunteers around during the candle-light tour to clue you in on history and trivia about the occupants. They don't seem to pull any punches when talking about the Trail of Tears, and how the Cherokee were treated back then. Vann House was working plantation with slaves, so there is also a good deal of information about the treatment of the estate's slaves, getting down to some history on specific individuals. The amount of research that has been done on the Vann House is impressive. They also have "Vann House Days" during the summer. And the site is not far from New Echota Historic Site. There is a picnic area and lots of good historic information. We spent about an hour here. The trail is about 2.5 miles, we did about half then cut through the field. You can really feel the history come alive.
