This school is phenomenal. My son attended this school for two years (a 3 day program and then the…read more5 day program) and he fell in love with the school almost immediately. The teachers are invested in the program, the kids have an UNBELIEVABLE outdoor yard that is unrivaled here in Orange County. He's now attending a private elementary school and is thriving all directly related to his participation in this school. Trust me, take a tour and you will see the difference from the other schools in the area.

But the right amount in progress & I mentioned this to them via email, phone and texting with the directors and sent them my transcripts. They were aware but still brought me in for the interview and I thought awesome as a lot of schools allow for in progress units. Only to find out when I got there they brought me in for a potential position in the future because they liked my resume and phone interview. I had to sit through an hour interview knowing I wasn't getting the current job. I was NOT told this when asked to come in for an interview. The whole thing was weird energy between the assistant director and director and a waste of a 40 min drive and me taking a day off. The assistant director was incredibly warm and the main director was cold. I can't speak on the education etc.. of this school. But I did not appreciate my time being wasted for a "potential" position months away. As I was looking for and applied for current employment and should have been informed otherwise.

I was so excited to have my son (4 years old) start school here. The classrooms, daily routine,…read moreplayground are all set up really amazing. Unfortunately my son only went 3 total days before we ended up not returning. The story: on the 3rd day I picked my son up from the playground at the end of the day, the moment he saw me he immediately broke down sobbing saying his head hurt really bad and a kid had hit him with a shovel. Obviously concerned, I asked the teachers what happened and asked why I was not notified, and why he didn't receive any ice or first aid? All 4 teachers took turns blaming each other, changing their story from one teacher saw the incident, to nobody saw the incident, and then they said they did not have to notify me of injuries that did not leave a mark. One teacher even told me to "take it down a notch" as I asked questions regarding what happened. My son cried holding his head for 3 hours and threw up. I took him to Kaiser Irvine ER where they said he had a mild concussion. Keep in mind I have the toughest little boy who has never cried at school, and regularly falls and does crazy things and never blinks an eye. So I knew something was wrong. None of the teachers apologized. Zero leadership or accountability as adults. I don't expect perfect and it is very normal for accidents to happen on. The playground, but I expect basic first aid and a notification. Keep in mind, on the first day of him going to mariners, my son was also hit again with a "block" on accident. It left no mark, but he did receive ice, it was documented on the procare app, AND I received a phone call. Nobody had any explanation as to why none of this happened when he was hit in the head 2 days later with a shovel. (Which they do have on the playground gardening area) I made an appointment with the director, I received a full refund (about $1500 of fees), and they admitted policy was not followed by the employees. We haven't returned to mariners at all since this incident as it was just such a disappointment. Mostly just the complete lack of care and compassion toward my little boy than anything else. I can't recommend Mariners at all.

Dear Ms. Ruby, Ms. Susie & Ms. Jessica -…read more I wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for the beautiful graduation ceremony you hosted yesterday. It was clear from every detail that an enormous amount of care, creativity, and dedication went into making it such a special occasion. As a parent, watching our children take the stage with such confidence, poise, and genuine excitement was an absolute joy. The fact that they were so well-rehearsed and yet still completely in the moment is a true testament to the incredible work your teachers and staff do every single day. The event was so thoughtfully organized, and it showed. Every moment felt intentional and meaningful, leaving all of us parents with full hearts and the biggest smiles. These are the memories our families will treasure for years to come. Please know how deeply appreciated you all are, not just for yesterday, but for everything you pour into these children throughout the year. You don't just teach them; you help them grow into kind, capable, and confident little people. Yesterday was a beautiful reflection of that. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making this milestone so truly unforgettable. With warm gratitude, Happy Mama

Our experience with Irvine Montessori School has been good. From the front desk where Ms. Ruby and…read moreMs. Suzie manage parent interactions, to classroom teachers like Ms. Ana and Ms. Angie, the commitment to the children is evident. Our child has shown progress in language and social skills, and the staff puts clear effort into milestones like graduation ceremonies and holiday events. The campus itself is clean and modern. This is definitely one of the top 10 Montessori schools in Orange County. Refine a few operational details, and they have the potential to easily break into the top 5. Areas for Improvement: Teacher rotation does cause disruption in student learning. While staffing shifts are common, the school needs to do a better job of getting ahead of these rotations and being proactive about the transitions. Furthermore, the administration should establish a structured, year-round channel for parental feedback. While daily communication from individual teachers is fine, an administrative feedback loop like bi-annual parent surveys would allow families to share insights on scheduling logistics, administrative clarity, or classroom dynamics. It remains a solid option for families in Irvine, and showing better foresight regarding teacher transitions and structured parent communication will help them reach that next level.

This was so bittersweet, as we all wished that she could stay longer (as long as possible) in Marco Polo! We didn't want to leave! We were a part of such a tight-knit, warm, supportive, and welcoming community - the teachers, fellow parents, all the students - that I truly believe that the bond forged and positive effects gleaned (both academic and non-academic) will last well into the future. We felt that the Reggio Emilia approach worked so well in helping kids of different character traits and temperaments grow according to their own pace and strengths. We loved all the teachers that have taught our daughter, as well as others we saw every single day in their various supporting roles (admin, front desk, meal times, science, subs, etc). It took a village, and boy was that village awesome. We could feel that the teachers (and everyone else) working there truly were there because they loved kids, and they loved helping kids thrive. The Preschool and Pre-K programs were particularly notable and instrumental in their roles in helping our daughter get more than ready for her kindergarten year (and beyond). Under the relatively new leadership of Ms. Kimberly, I saw notable improvements in terms of the variety of interesting new subjects, activities, and a stronger sense of direction, leadership, and community. We can't possibly thank Marco Polo enough for helping shape our daughter, for encouraging and loving her, and for supporting us throughout. Ms Amy, Ms Venus, Mr Erick, Ms Paris, Ms Fatemeh, Ms Destinee, Ms Kimberly, Ms Jing, Ms Caitlin, Mr Ruben, Ms Lisa, Ms Janet, and everyone else - you truly made Marco Polo such a wonderful journey for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
