This was my child's first school experience after being homeschooled his entire life. It wasn't our first choice. To be honest, when I saw the school in Google, I didn't even give it a second look. We moved from NorCal back to San Diego missing the start of the school year. I was looking to send my son to a private school for football, but missed the start of the season. So my second thought was "he will play next year, let's just find him a school to ease into the transition." So a lot of the "soft" schools like High Tech High and School of Engineering and Technology had a waiting list. Wanting to get my son into school ASAP, we decided on Americas Finest Charter High School. Well everything happens for a reason. The school, staff, and its teachers are AMAZING!! They truly care about these kids future. Now don't get me wrong, nothing in life is perfect. There is good and bad in everything. Your child will only get out what they put in, school or anything in life. But the help and support is there. From our experience, the school counselor Ms. Saucedo, Mr. Poteet (history teacher) and Coach Gab (Math Teacher) work hard on getting these kids to the next level. Once again, your child will only get out what they put in, your child will have to want it. So if your child is looking for a school where they can just go to learn and reach their full potential. Not worry about other nonsense and drama (unless they bring it). I highly recommend sending them here. It worked out so well, our oldest is returning. He is happy there. We are even sending his little brother to the school here!

The HTH ethics of no tests, minimal homework, and project based learning serves to degrade your middle schooler to the academic ethic of a preschooler. I watched so many of my classmates proceed to college and similarly struggle with the lack of an adequate educational foundation in all subjects especially in STEM. While some were able to overcome the shortcomings enforced by HTH, many found it easier to give up and go to a JC and not even finish at all. I regularly run into my former classmates across the county robbed of their potential by HTH working retail jobs. Just don't send your kid here if you value their future.

Kavod has given us a whole lot of amazing learning experiences but I can sum it up by saying that they have cared for my children with respect, consideration and an openness to learning. Both of my children with IEPS have required specialized services and very specific supports. I found the teachers and staff members to be caring, smart, fun and excited about creating a community of respectful and inquisitive learners. No child was ignored, every child was met where they were enthusiastically and the staff worked extremely hard to address needs while simultaneously building on strengths. My kids have both done very well there and the emphasis on languages and culture has been a ton of fun. Projects were meaningful and I appreciated the organized communication and leadership from administration. I would have never imagined my children speaking all these languages so quickly but they have learned because Kavod makes it possible with their organized programming and the support of all team members. As a part of the parent community, I felt welcomed and cared for there as well. In a time where there is so much division, it's a beautiful gift when we can gather, respect one another and learn from one another culturally. Any and every school can teach kids what they need to learn but very few can teach kids how to be amazing human beings and every single staff member I have encountered at this school has done so by strong example!! My boys have been through a lot and they have provided them (and all others) with a loving, caring, and supportive environment. The principal is amazing! At most schools you hardly see the principal if at all but not here. I see him daily. He is a constant throughout the school constantly moving and involved in all aspects and activities instead of just hanging out in his office. The office staff is always helpful, warm, and welcoming and they show a genuine care and concern for all the kids (and parents) and their well being. The teachers are amazing and put a massive amount of effort into each child and their individual learning needs. I have a child with severe ADHD who has struggled in school ever since he started and his teacher Mrs. Cress has some how managed to find a way with him to where now, not only is he actually completing work but completing it correctly and retaining what she is teaching. He is actually excited to go to school and even do homework (weird lol) for the first time ever! The after school program is amazing and the staff there is equally as caring and invested as everyone else in the school! I am so grateful my boys wound up here!!

Just like all of you who are reading this review, I was hesitant myself. Didn't know what to…read moreexpect, not sure of how legitimate this was, but when you're all out of options you would do anything to succeed. Rachell Allen was the saving grace. I emailed them inquiring about the class and received a message a week later. They answered majority of my questions, but again I was hesitant. What made me give it my all and enrolled in this program was my desire to be better, to be an RN. As soon as I walked into the classroom and they did their introductions, I knew Ii was in the right place. You never felt alone and knowing that the rest of the class has been struggling the same as you makes you more comfortable. We were all there for the same reason and it is to pass, that is what Rachell Allen did for me. You are given modules to prepare for, and then you have review classes for 10 days. The 10 days are gruesome, but doable and fun. When you pay for a prep class and you know that this is it, you put all your effort forward and eventually, you'll succeed! This is all based on my experience and I highly recommend Rachell Allen for your NCLEX needs. They will support you not only as a nurse, but also as an individual. They encourage you and motivate you to be your very best and that is why I say take the leap, enroll, study, and ace your NCLEX-RN or -PN. I am very thankful for them!
