This was the most unprofessional and irresponsible bunch of " movers " I have ever worked with. I have moved at least a dozen times in my life and this by far was the worst one. These people ruined many of my belongings , Left furniture in pieces not put together and an entire garage full of unlabeled boxes. The move took 2cdays when the quote was for 1. Do not hire Gorilla Holers if you expect a full pack-and-move service. I paid for complete packing and moving. They only transported my pre-packed storage boxes and packed less than 50% of each room in my home. The job was left unfinished, yet I was charged the full price. This created unnecessary stress during an already difficult move. I feel the service did not match what was promised or paid for. Please be cautious and do not use this company. I contacted their office on Friday when I went back to my previous place to check and was shocked. I called Eli the operations manager and complained on Saturday and said Wilson the owner would call us. To date no feedback!! Two stars because the process started out positive. By the end of my delivery, which was earlier than expected (a plus) my calls were avoided. What was agreed upon and documented was not represented at pick up or drop off. My move ended up costing 50% more. This company is no different than others. They get you coming and going. My scf was much less than they said, and I was charged and extra $300 for delivery. So many discrepancies! Sad! So sad! Prior to the move, Eli was very nice, professional, and easy-going. During the move, everything turned into a nightmare. The first group of people who were dispatched to move our stuff, were filled with complaints of having to work on a Saturday and how they had to accommodate the schedule because they had other plans (name was Wilson). Wilson was very disrespectful. He sounded like we were indebted to him. Granted, they wrapped our items well. Once they arrived to our house to deliver the items, only a few individuals worked to get the stuff in our house. The lead, he was Hispanic, was apparently complaining because he had to use booties to get into our house and upstairs (we had new carpet installed). The movers left early and left everything else in our garage - the agreement was that they place our stuff where they should go and that did not happen. Following day, 3 guys came and finished the work. Their original task was supposed to move our items from two 10 ft storage unit, but they ended up finishing the unfinished work in our garage and inside our house, which ultimately led to another problem later that day. The movers were good. We were happier then, except they had to keep working late despite us having our own timeline. We spoke with Eli regarding our constraints and Eli was determined to get the job done (because he said he had no one else who can come out to finish the rest of the work) and did not seem to care that we had babies and with sleeping schedules. He said that their work hours end at 9pm, yet when I asked him why the first group of movers ended their work at 6pm and why they didn't finish the work, he couldn't answer. Instead, he turned the tables on us and forcing us to finish the work. Mind you, we paid thousands of dollars to get this company filled with very unprofessional movers, lack of communication and when things fall through, they will turn the blame on you! We hired professional movers with the expectation of not having to stress much. Instead, they stressed us out a lot! Also found out, their actual movers are not even professionally trained. They were hired from somewhere and offered to get paid about $20/hour. Yet some of them acted more professional than their leads! Not to mention, some of decorations were broken - we did not mind reaching out to inform Eli because it has become a nightmare talking to him. We wanted to end that relation with this moving company. This moving experience was nothing short of a nightmare, and I would not wish it on anyone. From start to finish, it was defined by incompetence, disrespect, and outright cruelty from the individuals and the company I trusted with my belongings. What should have been a simple, professional service turned into one of the most stressful and infuriating encounters I have ever endured. The two young men sent to handle my move were nothing like professional movers. They behaved more like thugs than service providers. From the moment they arrived, their attitude was apathetic and rude. They carried themselves with hostility, as if they were looking for an argument rather than a job to complete. Not only did they show no care for my belongings, they actually threw my items--literally tossing boxes around in front of me as though they were unloading garbage into a dumpster. Fragile boxes, wardrobe boxes, items clearly labeled as breakable--all of it was handled with complete disregard. When I pointed out the obvious damage happening right before my eyes, they had the audacity to deny everything. No accountability, no acknowledgment, no professionalism whatsoever. Their excuse for showing up 24 hours late was equally insulting. One of them claimed he had been stung by a bee, as if that justified keeping me waiting for an entire extra day with no communication and no backup plan. This was not just an inconvenience--it was an outrageous breach of contract and of trust. I had rearranged my entire schedule, only to be dismissed with a flimsy story that no legitimate business would ever use to excuse such negligence. After the disastrous delivery, when I finally called Wilson to voice my frustration, his response was beyond shocking. Instead of offering an apology or any kind of resolution, he told me I was being selfish for "demanding that his workers put in long hours." Selfish--for expecting the movers to show up on time, fulfill their contract, and treat my possessions with basic care. To make matters worse, he actually told me I was cruel for being upset that they were an entire day late. Imagine being on the receiving end of damage, delays, and blatant disrespect, only to be told that you are the problem for daring to complain. By the time they left, I was so disgusted that I refused to let them place anything further inside my home. Instead, I took my own belongings from the doorway and carried them into the house myself because I wanted these people out of my sight and off my property. That's how unsafe, uncomfortable, and angry they made me feel in my own home. And as if the disrespect, lateness, and damage weren't enough, I was also overcharged. I had been quoted a flat rate, yet I was hit with more than $300 in additional fees--on top of the fact that they had already failed to deliver within the agreed-upon time frame. This company is the definition of unprofessional. They broke their promises, mishandled my property, insulted me personally, and then charged me more than we agreed. Honestly, Gorilla Haulers came highly recommended, but we did not have the best experience. It took five guys over 8 hrs to move a two bedroom apartment down the street. And this was without them having to pack any clothes or coats (we moved these beforehand, and we had to help them pack boxes during). They quoted us for 5 hrs and not only did they take 3 hrs longer, they of course charged us $700 more. They started out fast, and then slowed down quite a bit. They did not seem to know the most efficient ways to pack boxes or the truck. On top of that, they left multiple items behind that we had to move on our own, such as a tv, a few computer monitors, our comforter and pillows, a suitcase, a few boxes and several more items (at least two cars full of items). And they wouldn't move our plants. When unpacking, we found a few broken items, some bowls and cups. And finally, they broke off a part of my Peloton bike, the cup holder, which was no where to be found. Fortunately, the bike still works fine. We gave two stars instead of one because, well, it could have been worse. But what bothered us the most is they wouldn't answer our calls or texts in attempt to correct the situation after the fact. read more

I had Gorilla Haulers help with a full house clean-out. It was a large house on three levels with 30 years of accumulated stuff. I rented my own 15 yard trash bin for the job, and Wilson and his team at GH provided the labor. After a few messages describing what I'd like done I accepted the quote and the team showed up as promised and on time. In a matter of a few hours the team worked quickly, effectively, and per my direction to fill up the bin. I underestimated how much stuff was in the house, and another bin was needed. I was able to easily schedule GH to come back in a couple days to complete the job. Wilson and his team were great to work with and provided good value. Not a good company, employees were sleeping in the truck, working very slow and speaking by phone while moving my stuff ( and me paying for it!) I called their boss and his excuses: "they were tired and it was hot outside". It wasn't hot outside and if they were tired they shouldn't be working because I was paying $148 an hour each! They just finished moving some seriously heavy furniture that I cannot with myself. They came within the allotted time slot, very nice and professional guys, moved it without issues. The price was what they stated in their quote. No issues whatsoever, will definitely use them again whenever we have moving needs As a side note, the company "HaulPROZ" was actually much closer to me and they gave me a quote. However, despite their good reviews, and after reaching out to them multiple times, they completely ghosted me. Beginning to end was a great experience and convenient. I shared a description and pictures of the materials that needed hauling and they were able to give me a competitive quote. Guy named Wilson with NY tel no sets up my move which raised my suspicion but I decided to give them a chance on Facebook then he made up a reason to immediately increased the price saying I was too meddling after I just asked about date change which immediately caused concern but I gave him another benefit of doubt. 3 urban movers showed on time but they moved slow, wasted time standing around, lifted small things to pretend work and milked move duration to increase charge I can tell immediately. I called Wilson to complain and he immediated became combative and accused me of having stolen property lol... what bizzare thing to say to paying customer. You can't make this up. Also lead mover made up excuses why they had to leave early and abandons job and leaves me hanging that took me some time to finish in heavy rain. The price was ok. The movers broke our cabinet, chipped our dining table, and damaged the main mattress beyond repair, and our mattress for visitors was filthy on one end. My thought is there the damaged end was not on a cover. There was an acknowledgment by the movers of our broken cabinet which they tried to fix but was unfixable considering the whole that holds a screw in was damaged making it unfixable. In the end, we were never reimbursed or made whole. I give two stars for the pleasantness of the mover's demeanor, but no more. I would not recommend this company. Money saved for them was money lost by us. I would post photos of the damages, but nothing came about then, so I do not expect anything now. read more

Cons: We used their service recently (30Jul2021) for our local move in Urbana, MD. 1. First thing, they came 6 hours late (supposed to come at 2PM but came at 8 PM ). 2. We had an IKEA Queen bed which they were not able to dismantle (they informed me that IKEA bed are sometime hard to dismantle and fix it back - it is understandable). I told them it is okay to remove the pieces into the new home if it is broken. As suggested they moved the broken bed to the new house but charged extra $25 for moving the broken bed (moving the bed was part of the initial quote). 3. They broke an office table during the move but did not inform me and left it in the office room. 4, Lastly, they removed the storage rack and did not fix them in the new place and I could not find the screws to fix them. Pros: He did say sorry for coming late and said that he is not billing for one person. -- We had moved several times and worked with different moving companies (we used to give them the keys and they used to arrange everything for us) but never experienced working with someone like Gorilla Haulers - so unprofessional!!! read more

They showed up on time for consultation/quote and exceeded my expectations with their work. Got quotes from 3 other companies, two companies blew me off for weeks, the other tried to sneak in additional charges for dumpster/truck rental/additional labor after we had agreed on price. Gorilla Haulers beat them all by a wide margin. Super friendly and professional, returned my calls/texts within minutes not days, clear communication of services and charges and no nonsense with hidden fees. I've been trying to clear out my basement for years and they knocked it out in a few hours. I would expect most companies that move this quickly to just handle the bulk and leave a mess behind but they cleaned up quickly and thoroughly along the way. Also, they pack as much as physically possible into each truckload when you would normally expect people to loosely fill a load to create a reason to come back and charge more.
