It has been 3 years since my last review of this station and things have changed. GO Transit…read moreintroduced two short trains that start at Maple station, which helps quite a bit. It feels luxurious because you can always find a seat. However, they're only available at 7:19am and 7:49am. This station is much busier than it used to be in the past. Parking is full by 7:30am. GO Transit has also introduced reserved parking spots for close to $100/mo. There are still plenty of free parking spots available, but GO will keep adding reserved spots as more people request them. The number of free parking spots will only diminish. Illegal parking in the parking lot is not worth it, as I hear that tickets are close to the same price as a reserved parking spot. Parking in residential areas is also not recommended due to bylaws. From what I hear from a co-worker who takes the train from Maple station, the Maple parking lot is almost all reserved parking. The station has free wifi now. They always show CP24 news on the TV, which is a great distraction while waiting for the train to arrive. Takes ~45 minutes to here from Union compared to ~30 minutes by train. You can buy your tickets here from a teller during peak times or anytime from the machine.

The parking lot usually fills up by 7am so try to get there super early to guarantee a spot. This station has washrooms, a ticket booth, and free wifi for when you're waiting for your train. Train service stops around 9am every weekday so just a heads up. Service updates are provided on the monitors above and are fairly accurate & dependable.

Milliken station is slightly closer to my home than Unionville. However, if I end up missing the last train for the evening, my next best bet would be to take the GO bus, which stops at Unionville station. Buses run all the time. Trains don't run on weekends. The parking lot gets extremely busy at rush hour. It's interesting seeing folks drive in like maniacs, park, and run like their lives depended on catching the train. It's both amusing and stressful. The parking lot is one of the larger ones for a GO station in the area. I rarely got a seat on the train during rush hour when I boarded here. I only got a seat when it was March Break and thought I had won the lottery. I also learned how to stand up and sleep on the train. It's a skill that I am still proud of to this day. This station has a cute building where you can purchase tickets. There are also washrooms. This location is ideal. It's by Kennedy and highway 407. So, if you need someone to pick you up, it's pretty easy to find this station. There's more retail development around the area since I was a GO commuter. I would estimate a five-minute drive, at most, from this station to the local plaza to eat and shop. You can walk it, but I wouldn't recommend it on a snowy day like today! (432)

Since…read morethere is technically only one visible exit for each parking lot, some people run for their lives to get out of the parking lot as fast as possible to avoid the exit parking traffic. It is actually very stressful getting in and out of trying to pick someone up during rush hours. It will take a good 10 mins+ to just get out. You need all lot of patience as there are quite a few rude drivers out there. They really need extra stop signs for incoming traffic and extra exits. Whomever designed this place didn't think clearly with just one visible exit !! The go office is closed over the weekend so no washrooms are available. I could be wrong but I don't see a reload machine anywhere. You can buy a ticket , check, your balance or tap but no reload machine. There are two machine tickets booths - one near by the bus stops and one very the office that are self serve. Convenient but slow. Run for your lives!!

Mount Joy Go Station is my to go Go Station if I need to park my car when I taking the bus or train…read moredowntown. The parking lot is huge compare to Markham Go Station just down the road. I like how it is really well lit and there is also a second lot if you have problem finding a spot in the main lot. There is also the waiting area is sheltered and has an actual door that help blocking the freezing cold on a -30C windchill days. There is also a covered bicycle parking area! New ticketing machine also been installed recently. Extra 0.5 star for keeping the roadway clear even on snow day, at least my car was not stuck after major snow storms.

Most people do park their cars pretty late here, so your car won't be singled out if you come back after 11pm lols. I find that the drivers here are more respectful and do generally park okay. When I mean okay, I mean they all back in and make an effort to not park on lines. However, when winter comes, all hell breaks loose. Usually if you leave from Union Station, the buses will take you to Mount Joy Go Station. I hope this go station doesn't get any busier after my post lols.

This train station along with a couple of bus terminals have a futuristic oval shape. The interior is lined with mirrors and skylights, making it both bright and beautiful. The station is very clean and still has that new construction smell. There are 2 parking lots, managed by Smart Centres. The larger parking lot is located next to the station. The smaller parking lot is located where the old Best Buy and Home Outfitters used to be.
