I won't lie. I haven't had much luck with good food in Denmark. Everything has been over salty and hasn't sat well with me. Food is an essence of travel and to be disappointed again and again is a bit sad. This place thankfully had good food. The pizza is not your usually Italian pizza. I assume it has a Danish twist. It's very thin crust. We ordered the Mark & Rita which is a play on words for Margherita pizza. We had the sourdough bread with buttermilk butter which was tasty. Olives were a nice start. Ordered the food with "Le Orme" glass of red which was nice and crisp and complemented the food. The servers Sean and Victor were attentive. The place has a very cozy feel to it. I found this place on yelp and made a reservation for Saturday night. Gorm's is very small but has a cozy and intimate feel. I started with an Italian beer (the only one on the menu). It was light, bubbly, and gigantic. I ordered the 3 course meal (250kr)-antipasti to start, pizza, and tiramisu. The antipasti was fresh bread with 3 dips. One was tomato pesto, pesto, and olive oil. All 3 dips were amazing but my favorite was the tomato pesto. For my main entree, I got the miss wishbone pizza and my friend got the denny special. Both were AMAZING and were incredibly unique. The fresh prosciutto was divine and the truffle oil on the white pizza was fantastic. For dessert, I had the tiramisu. It was probably one of the best tiramisu's I've ever had. I could taste the cognac and fresh cream. European desserts--no contest! If you love Italian food, this is a must try. Service was also excellent. read more

About the gluten-free pizza at Gorm's: you pay +20DKK to have you're pizza with a gluten-free dough and they are made properly - at a seperate counter, baked on separate pizza stones and always made first (but in the same oven as the normal pizzas). So one star for making a gluten-free pizza the right way BUT to pay 165DKK for a pizza approximately 2/3rds the size of a normal pizza is not cool (see picture - the normal pizza was nice round and had a diameter a bit bigger than the plate). I mean, it was good - especially if you like your pizza with a super thin crisp crust - but definitely not that good. Felt like a total rip-off to be honest Second star is because the restaurant in Magstræde is pretty cozy and the waiters were nice and helpful. But if I wasn't a celiac I doubt I would ever come back - and I only will if I'm going mad from craving pizza and have given up on making my own... read more

After a long day of travel, we arrived in Copenhagen both tired and hungry. Gorm's was a short 15 minute walk from the hotel so we decided that it would be the perfect spot to have dinner. The restaurant is located on a quiet street out of the way from hustle and bustle. We arrived around 6:00 and were seated immediately. Note: any later and we might had to wait a bit for a table, so either get there early or make reservation. Our server for the night came right over and offered us menus in English. Good thing too because my Danish is a little rusty these days. After a few minutes we made our food We started with the bruschetta. It was a little non traditional as it was served on a earthy stoneground bread. But we devoured it and the serving size was perfect. Our wine for the night was a reasonable priced Italian primitivo (255 DK). We both thought the wine was outstanding given its wallet friendly price point. We shared two pizzas. The pizzas are made on a cracker thin crust. The toppings are on the light side, but its how I prefer my pizza. A hungry diner can easily consume one pizza and still be hungry for more. I only finished half to save my ass the calories and save room for dessert. Speaking of.....the tiramisu is winner. Again, not traditional and served more like a custard. We ordered a glass of moscato which was served table side. My friend was shorted just a smidgen so our server ran out to get another bottle but when returned he told us that was the last bottle. We were actually fine as even the short pour was still generous. But he insisted on serving my friend a tawny port as well. So he basically got two drinks for the price of one. Both drinks were amazing and paired perfectly with our dessert. The service here is five star all the way. Just as good as everyone else says it is. The food is nice, but the service and timing really push it to being a special place. We had the three-course dinner which included the antipasto italia (two cheeses, two types of salami, olives and pickled onions, two types of tapinade), choice of pizza and choice of dessert. The antipasto was served with a darker bread than what you'd expect, but it is Denmark and so the rye bread is not surprising. Pizzas had very nice thin crust and rich toppings. I personally like super thin crust and crispy, so this was my kind of pizza. Dessert of tiramisu and berry compote were also very nice (not exceptional, but very good). The best pizza in town! I love eating at their location in Torvehallerne! It's such a fun atmosphere. They make the pizzas right in front of you and then give it to you to cut yourself! If you like the flavor of truffle, I highly recommend getting the Denny Special. It is incredible and tastes like so much truffle and goat cheese.. YUM! It's a fun experience and the best pizza ever. I love this place! I found it thanks to Yelp and was so happy. They have authentic delicious Italian food. I was visiting with my cousin's family and we decided to have dinner here. The place was tiny but cozy. We ordered half the menu (large group :). Everything was superb! The caprese salad was phenomenal. I am sad that I won't have it again in the States. We came on a recommendation, and I'm sure glad we did. This was one of the best experiences in Copenhagen. The atmosphere was lovely and you knew the food would be good. When walking in, the waiter told us our food would take an hour, but it was much less than that. We started with the "waiter's favorite"--vodka, lemon syrup, soda, and mint. It was delicious! Then I got Denny's Pizza, with mozzarella, goat cheese, potatoes, and rosemary. I really thought the toppings were intriguing and unique, and they complimented each other well on a very thin crust. There wasn't too much of any ingredient, even the cheese. I wish there were more rosemary. Thinly sliced potatoes together with cheese and a salted crust made for a heavenly white pizza. What a rainy wet cold night find this was! After a long day of work, I was exhausted and not super motivated to go out in the weather for dinner. But I finally gave in to my hunger and did a quick search on Yelp and found Gorms. Such warm atmosphere and rustic interior made me feel right at home. I felt like I was in a friends kitchen. The food. Oh yes, that's why you're reading yes? The pizza is marvelous. Well, that is if you are into perfectly baked cracker thin crust topped with fresh ingredients and sprinkled with mouth watering olive oil that I am sure was made in Heaven. Gorms is one of those places that you might see, if you decide to go in the smaller and older streets of Copenhagen, and the placement is super charming. I was invited there by a coworker, who had been there previously and was really happy about prior experiences. The place is small, and we were seated at a table on ground level, which resulted in some traffic next to us, due to people getting takeout from the place. Their primary item on the menu is gourmet pizza, and seeing that most pizzas are between 120 and 150kr, your expectations automatically goes up. I went for some antipasti as well, and wanted to end the visit with a nice tiramisu. The antipasti was pretty good, but that is where my positive review ends. After our plates were removed, we were left off waiting for a solid 45 minutes, before we asked the waiter about the pizzas. Multiple people that arrived and ordered after us received their pizzas and we were left with nothing. It wasn't until we asked, we could get a snack, for the waiting time. This is something I had hoped the hostess would do, as soon she noticed something was wrong. It wasn't a busy evening and she smiled at us multiple times. After the pizza finally arrived, I was really disappointed. Yes, it looked like a gourmet-pizza, where the concept of "less is more" really was applied. Yes, it was crispy, but it didn't have much topping on it, and way too much rucola. When you're serving something really crispy, you'd want _something_ to make it stick together, like a delicious tomato sauce on the base of the pizza, but to my surprise, no such sauce was on the pizza. When we were done, we got offered to get desserts and coffee on the house, but as we both had plans later this evening, we couldn't do that - In return she offered to subtract the price of one of the pizzas. A fine gesture, but not something that will make me give a higher rating. It is probaly a fine place to get your take away pizza from, and I will most likely try that some time in the future, and update the review accordingly. read more

This was our third visit to Gorm's Magstraede, and I doubt we'll give it a fourth try. The first time we stopped by in late December. It was 5 pm on a gray Copenhagen Sunday. The place was empty, but we were turned away since we did not have a reservation. The hostess was less than pleasant as she motioned us toward the door. Our second visit was actually pleasant. The restaurant definitely has that "hygge" feel, with old timbers and candles. The pizza was pretty good as well, but if you don't like thin crust, you won't enjoy Gorm's. On our most recent visit, we made sure to make reservations even though we were eating fairly early for Copenhagen. We had made a reservation for six, but one of the couples backed out at the last minute. We showed up at 6 pm to an empty restaurant. The waitress made it clear that we had seriously inconvenienced her by changing our number from six to four. After making a face and an exasperated sigh, she led us upstairs to our table. The day was warm for Copenhagen, and so the restaurant was quite warm as well. We asked to move to a table close to the open windows, and again, the waitress looked at us like we were asking her to remove the roof. She said she would have to check, and when she returned she advised that all the other tables were reserved. We quickly ordered pizza and beer so we could eat and get out. They only have Classic and a pilsner available. Thankfully, the beer was very cold when it arrived. The pizzas came shortly after. The margherita pizza that I ordered had plenty of sauce and cheese, but only one and half cherry tomatoes (think 3 little tomato slices) and exactly two basil leaves--that was it, no more and no less. I ate my thin crust, flavorless pizza and we left. We were there approximately 1 and a half hours, and when we left the place was as empty as when we arrived. I had a bad taste in my mouth as we walked out the door past the glaring waitress, and it wasn't from the pizza. read more

I am genuinely amazed at the rave reviews for this place. The pizza is average at best, the service is dismal and the prices too high. The waitress we encountered treated every request like it was a massive inconvenience and she even turned people away, despite the restaurant being barely a quarter full. The pizza was underwhelming - Gorm is a man who clearly is a stranger to salt and pepper, as everything was massively underseasoned. The meatball pizza sounded great on paper, but in practice it was like some bland mush on a melba toast and SO oily. Would not recommend, or hurry back. read more

It was freezing cold outside, and Gorm's was not far from my hotel. That is why it was chosen but that is not why I will return next time I'm in København ... their food was really surprisingly good. Rustic bread bruschetta, margarita pizza on a thin crust, and a delicious wine selected for me by my waiter. Lighting is by candle, but it only adds to the ambiance of a space that has been a restaurant since candles were the only lighting available. The service was also very nice and the place has a great atmosphere:) The portions are a bit on the small side but if you're not ravenous, you'll be fine. Horrible service, left with a friendly "f**k you" from waitress. Went to this restaurant a few days ago while searching for a break from Scandinavian food. Instead of ordering drinks we requested tap water, which the waitress assured us would be free of charge after we asked multiple times. We waited about 20 minutes for said tap water to arrive, which, again, we had been promised would be free of charge. The pizza portion of the dinner was fine, crispy, very thin crust with the usual toppings, nothing too special. When the check arrived; however, a small tap water war broke out in the restaurant. The 4 servings of tap water had been charged for 60 kroner (almost 8 USD). When we confronted the waitress about it, she told us we had known all along each serving of tap water was 15 kroner. Not true, and also doesn't make sense for water that was literally taken straight from the tap and put into a reusable glass bottle. During the ensuing protest against the tap water charge staged by our table, two waitresses, and two other dining parties got involved. The waitresses and one table were on the side "tap water that is promised as free should cost 60 kroner", while our table and another danish woman represented side "tap water should be free." While justice and free tap water prevailed at our dinner after a long battle, we were still left with battle wounds: a friendly "f**k you" from the waitress as we exited the restaurant. read more

We arrived to Copenhagen late on Friday night and they were happy to take us without a reservation. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming with rustic candle lit table tops. My husband ordered from a preset menu and I had a pizza. The antipasta from his order was perfect to share. I had the goat cheese pizza while a tad too salty for me I still enjoyed it. Two of us came in on a Saturday night at 9pm without a reservation - we were told there would be a one hour wait so we left our cell phone number with the waitress so she could call us if a table opened up earlier. We explored the charming downtown area in the meantime and got a call at about 9:40 that we could now be seated. Our last night in Copenhagen and my wife's birthday. We walk in and see several empty tables, but told they can only get us in at 9. We walk out and a couple that spoke broken English asked if they had availability. We explained they take reservations and can only accommodate at 9p. The other couple said they didn't have RSVPs either, but went on in and was given a table: my only conclusion, they didn't want to accommodate English speaking customers. Having been to this place before, slower service was expected and the least of our problems, the plastic bits and hair in both of our pizzas on the other hand was inexcusable! Long story short the waitress refused to comp a pizza due to the fear of being fired. Trying to turn the situation around she said the man making the pizza would be demoted to busboy and that this was not the first time that this has happened, but again she could not do anything about it.
