Renovations were done throughout the years and even an addition in 2006. The library is architecturally beautiful. There were plenty of parking. It was large, organized, and quiet. We went to the children's section and it was massive. There was a class going on for the kids. I noticed it's more catered to elementary/middle school kids. There was a small preschool section, but there was only a play kitchen with no accessories for it; toy pots and pans, toy food etc. They had a sensory board wall and some play costumes. They had a fish tank and so many fun decorations. The library is a great resource; they offer free and discounted museum passes and more. This is a great asset to Bristol for sure, but wish there were more entertainment for kids 4 and under.

Erin is warm, welcoming and wonderful with children, and the storytime is something my daughter and I look forward to every week. We sing songs, read a couple stories, and then do coloring or other crafts. I haven't really explored the rest of the library, but absolutely recommend the children's library and programming.

Once you walk in from the parking lot, take an immediate right up the stairs (I don't know if there is an elevator). This floor was huge! Biggest kid section I've seen. The Teens room had their own room. There were multiple study rooms which is pretty awesome, I haven't seen those in the libraries I've been to in the past. There's an art studio as well. The kids/preschool section was nicely decorated. The books were organized and they seem to have a huge collection of childrens books. My toddler loved the play kitchen; there's a puppet section under the tree, a play boat with fishing toys, blocks, chess table, computers, and magnetic blocks. We spent over an hour there and it's a great place to take the kids. I see that they have many events planned that's posted on their bulletin board. I will be back for sure!

Our daughter's first teachers were here during Busy Bee's play/learn group and learned so much. We are so grateful for that experience. Many interesting and fun programs over the years from craft projects to fantastic performances. The staff are amazing humans who put 100% into everything they do, not just for the kids, but the whole family. Very knowledgeable and supportive. Great books of every kind, including tough subjects and how to talk to kids about anything: bullying or bodies or big life changes. The adults area is great and I have enjoyed taking my laptop and doing quiet work by the enormous windows at the provided desks- that have outlets! I went to this library for a play read, and that was my first thought - my, we're parking on the side of the road. It did work out, all cars were fine, but I see why they maybe needed more space. The building is a beautiful stone though, and inside is now a book store owned by the library. They have their selections divided by topic, and are priced reasonably enough for used books. There is a fireplace on the first floor, and a restroom on a little half level going up. Overall a very pretty building.

When I was there, an individual was having a meeting with who I think was a social worker. I wouldn't identify this as a quiet working space but I did notice there was a computer lab at the other end of the building and while there weren't large workstations, it seemed like this area might be a bit quieter. Needed to check in with a library host to get access to a computer and so I ended up going back into the other room. Read for awhile and then headed out. Spoiled with my hometown library and I'm comparing the two but the outside reading area seemed quite lovely and despite being a bit outdated, this library had far more adult reading materials than my own!

It's a standard red bookcase that is in good shape. It's in a great location near the playground and the school; it's right on the sidewalk adjacent to the parking lot. As always, a great spot to donate books and pick up books. I've always found a good selection of books every time I visit, especially children's books there. Note: I thought I took a picture of it in the past but couldn't find it in my phone. I will come back with a photo update soon. Until then, keep on reading those books. B-)
