I can't recommend this place enough!…read more I was pretty nervous about getting Lasik done, but I was greeted warmly by Virginia the moment I stepped in. She walked me through the whole process and was very available when I had 1001 questions. I was able to schedule my free consultation shortly after I came in for information. I met with Chris who is simply hilarious and he took down a bunch of information about my eyes. He was really good at making me feel at ease. Then, I met Tim who did the dreaded "which is better? One or two? Can you read the letters there?" Test. I was pretty nervous about that, since I have bad eyes and I already feel defeated after I fail the letter reading test, but nope! He also made me feel really relaxed and comfortable. I asked a billion questions and he was able to answer everything really clearly. After booking my surgery which was about a month away due to my schedule, I called Lasik MD a bunch of times with random concerns and questions and they always happily answered with a smile. On the day of my surgery, i mostly saw the same people that I've been in contact with before and it was really comforting to see a bunch of familiar faces. After waiting in the lounge, getting a quick exam done, signing my consent forms and paying for my surgery I was lead upstairs by the wonderful Jamie and I waited in a smaller lounge with one other patient who just finished his surgery. We got to talk for about 20min and I went in! Dr Johnson was the one who greeted me at the door and he was very approachable and he made me laugh a bunch of times. The surgery was really interesting and pretty fun actually (weird, I know)! There was no pain, just pressure as they will tell you. There's also a weird smell, but they warn you about that too. Afterwards, I waited a bit more, got a second exam to see if everything started to heal, got my first set of drops and I was on my way! The whole experience was amazing. The staff is just perfect. I can't stress enough how great the team is. It really made a world of difference for me. I felt well taken care of and I felt like they took a personal interest. My schedule is weird and they worked to accomodate me as best as they could. I could go on for days, but if you have more specific questions, feel free to send me a message. I'd be glad to elaborate further. Reminder: Lasik is still a surgery, so it's not something to take lightly. These guys tell you right up front they are more about client service than maximizing revenues, and you can tell, because they really show they care. For instance, Dr. Morison takes the time to meet each patient personally before you ever sit down in a dental chair. Another example - they give you options and do a fantastic job explaining all of what's going on with your teeth in much more detail than any other dentist has ever given me. Perhaps that's too much info for some people, but I'm a fan of information overload when it comes to my own health. If you are looking for a new dentist, I would highly recommend checking this one out.

The wisdom tooth extraction went VERY well. Luckily I didnt have anything that would complicate…read morethings, but I was so nervous I felt sick the day before. Fortunately, I was prescribed halcion to sedate me before coming in (can you say, "can't walk without two nurses?"), and from what little I remember of the procedure, they were very good and professional (when I had to be stuck in the elbows four times trying to get a vein for my I.V., the nurse asked me what my favourite animals,colours, etc. were to distract me a bit and explained that they were having difficulty getting a vein (mine are tiny), although I was too zonked for more than one answer. Gillis said a friendly hello even though I was too sleepy to talk back, and likewise, the receptionists were all "All sleepy and ready, I can see!" with smiles while I was waiting (which wasn't long). They sent me home with percoset, extra gauze and care instructions, and since I hardly woke up until mid-afternoon, my mom and the nurse helped me into the car. No sutures put in, which is odd but I defer to their judgment, they do NOT skimp on anesthetic (it's been ten hours and I still can't feel most of my face), and they give you your teeth to take home (ewwwww. They told my mom it's because too many times they've had a no when asking, followed by getting a call the next day having changed their mind. The first thing I remember saying when awake again, was "Ew, you KEPT them?"). I look forward to being a patient of Gillis for many years to come, even not being in the same city.
