There is still a lot of work to be done. I had healing a few times! Radical deliverance so I know what sound solid church should look & feel like. THE WORD OF GOD IT IS THAT SIMPLE! WE USE THE BIBLE! I AM A STUDENT AGAIN! Kids church school/ ministry is so awesome! My granddaughter runs to class! She has a home church in Vacaville she knows good stuff. As an Assemblies of God church, it's Pentecostal; they deeply believe in the Holy Spirit's power. The worship is an engaging, charismatic experience. They offer more than just Sunday services- they have Bible studies, programs that help in the community with issues like foster children and sex slavery. They do a lot of good. Despite being a "megachurch" of sorts they put much effort in showing friendship&welcome to all. Nobody feels like a number. Like the nearby winemaker statue, it's hard to miss. It welcomes you into the city of Napa.

It was a Christmas craft fair combined with re-enactments of the Bible story. Buying gifts&giving donations went to worthy causes like hospitals, orphanages&food banks. They would serve up cookies, hot apple cider, coffee&hot chocolate. They'd have live animals such as camels from Six Flags. Main Street Bethlehem was a Christmas pageant kicked up several notches. Just like my home church in San Diego, this church is absolutely gorgeous inside. I love the architecture, and it is beautiful at Christmas time. I went to church here on our last trip, and I immediately felt like I belonged here. The parishioners were very welcoming and friendly. I didn't get a chance to meet Pastor Genesis, but I am on their mailing list, so I can catch up with what he is thinking via their newsletter. We are hoping to move to Napa before the end of 2026, and I have already decided that this will be my new church home.

The stained glass windows of various saints are lovely. It's a place for contemplation among the vineyards. It's a spiritual oasis when it has places like Michael Chiarello's Bottega/NapaStyle as well as Thomas Keller's French Laundry, Per Se, and Bouchon down the street. While it's within earshot of Highway 29, it is a place of silence and beauty.

The pandemic left its mark on so many people and so many ideals (especially around the church and gathering). I knew I needed help so in May of 2021 I decided to check out the Celebrate Recovery(C/R) at First Christian Church (FCC) on Tues. nights. I truly felt welcomed and decided that I wanted to keep attending C/R. I was invited to another church in the area for Sunday worship by someone that I had met in a phone conversation so I went to this church the next Sunday. No one greeted me, and I had to introduce myself and tell them I was new before someone came to lead me around and talk to me. Not a problem for me but if I was a shy new Christian, I know that I would have left. I did mention this to that pastor just because I think it was important for them to know. First impressions really do matter. I decided that the next Sunday I would try FCC. I loved the C/R, and many of the people there were regular attendees at FCC so I figured it was definitely worth the effort. When I got to FCC Sunday morning I was greeted by a very sweet and smiling Connections Ministry Leader who gave me a gift and set me up with connections to the church. The worship was amazing, the kids and family ministry was so terrific and truly caring, the Pastor was so "on Point" and the congregation was open and friendly. Like any family though, they are not perfect, but they try their best to love like Jesus and truly that is all that matters to me. We are all beautifully broken and when we can fit in a place where that is accepted, where we feel we can heal and not have to live up to some "perfect" standard, then we are able to let Jesus heal us. I truly feel this is a place of healing and love. From the C/R to the Sunday sermons it is all about Jesus and fellowship. Thank you FCC for being faithful and honest to our Lord and Savior Jesus! I will never find a church to replace the one I left in 2013 but I found a church in FCC that is as honest and caring in their faith as my old home church. I am very happy to call FCC my home church. Are they perfect? No. Is any human or establishment? No. Do they love well? Yes, and that is truly all that matters to me.

Our Cathedral Choir is magical with Jan Lanterman as the director. Our Pastor MaryLee is positively inspiring and educational. The bell choir directed by Diane is also amazing. Dianne the Church Administrator keeps everything in check. The church has a family friendly messy church on Saturday evenings which is fun! The 930 am service is wonderful and sacred in the sanctuary. This is a church which follows the teachings of the Bible. It is all inclusive where everyone is welcomed. The sanctuary is also great for weddings, funerals and other sacred occasions.
