The whole church stops and says the St. Michael Prayer after Mass, which I grew up doing as a kid in PA but I have never encountered in a TX parish. I suspect a lot of people who go to church here are Czech and Polish descent but you don't need to know how to make pierogies to go to church here. I'm a sucker for a roadside attraction and per the visitors' book, it gets pretty regular traffic from other roadside oddity enthusiasts. All in all, it is what you'd expect: A really small (and unstaffed) church in the middle of some beautiful country with cows and oak trees and even a teeny, tiny graveyard.

The Original Church built in the 1860's still stands today. It is THE oldest Painted Church in Texas, that has the original painting created by Reverend of the time in the 1870's. Unfortunately he passed away in a hunting accident and could not finish. The Parish decided. It to finish he is work. You can still see the pencil markings of where is was continuing. Brother Mike regaled us with historical stories of the Church. He then allowed in the newer Church (built in the 1960's) and the mural painted in there. The original charter of 16 families are still represented. Wow! Ceremonies are still held inside during special occasions
