The stain-glass windows are breath taking and allows so much light into the lovely interior. You can tell - especially coming from an urban environment - that this city either a) has good management of money or b) a ton of it. I say this because the church's foundation and walls are all made of stone. The stone is the cleanest I've ever seen anywhere and I've been to Europe - seen my lifetime share of cathedrals thank you. Non church-going folks, this is a place where it doesn't feel like you are in a traditional church mainly due to the insanely nice people that welcome you at the door. Also this is "technically" called a liberation church so they are cater to being more modern and inclusive - liturgy and all. Best time to check it out if you are a bit touchy about "going to church" on a Sunday, I suggest on a bright sunny day.

I love the fact that we get to drink coffee, eat a bagel, and wear flip flops all while attending church. The music is up beat and contemporary and the message down to earth but impacting on your daily life. The chapel was beautiful the day of! But remember brides- there is no air conditioning just fans so be aware for summer weddings. You need to bring your own priest/deacon, organist/singer, etc. However, Sister Maureen was very helpful in recommending people to us to help. She was very patient and answered all our questions. She also allowed us to come visit the chapel many times beforehand. I would definitely recommend this chapel for weddings!

She's kind of a big deal considering she'd be the second American-born saint. Just a little trivia for ya. I think this church is beautiful. The altar, the ceilings, everything. I'm pro a simple aesthetic when it comes to churches, but the details inside Holy Family remind me of a church in Italy that I loved. The seating is cross style with most of the seats in the center in front of the altar and then two "arms" of seats extending to the side. The sound system is a little strange. The microphone in the ambo (where the lector reads) is embedded so when you're up there, sometimes you're not sure if you're being loud or soft. Only graduates of St. Elizabeth College and the Academy of St. Elizabeth can get married in the chapel, which is a little perk considering the tuition at both institutions. I also heard there are some intense catacombs underneath this place. Yipes.. I'm such a wuss I've never prodded about the issue. NOTE: While writing this review, the speakers on my computer have been going in and out. So I'm gonna end it right here. :/

We wanted readers of this site to know that this church supports a loving ministry to visit sick and shut in residents at a nearby assisted living facility. Over the past 2 years, as we visited our relative there, we saw faithful, caring, and consistent outreach by St. Thomas More to the elderly and disabled at this facility. Many of these residents could benefit from more attention from their own relatives. Sadly, from our time seeing our brother there, we saw many residents get very few visits. Because of this, the ministry performed by St. Thomas More is literally a God-send to the elderly at this facility.
