worst place you could apply for a job . was full time and got cut down part time . management…read morenever ordered stuff that we needed. for the residence and the elevators kept breaking. when the elevators broke down it would be like 4 hrs for residence waiting around for them to fix it. they have to wait for a part for the second elevator .i would have to work in dining room by my self. sometimes . it wasn't worth it. the only good thing was the respect we got from the residences . each day they also wouldn't have anyone come into clean the kitchen hoods. or inspect the dishwasher. it was not the correct temp . the place was also smelling like sewage water in places. and they took time i don't know if they fixed it.

My sister is a Parkinson's patient. We were assured that they could meet her needs. She was in a Broda chair. I can't begin to tell you how many times she fell out of the chair or fell on the floor from her bed. She was often on the floor for up to two hours. I left a white board in her room reminding staff that she had to have her chair tilted back to prevent falls. Her room was disgusting. I asked several times for the carpet to be cleaned.....to no avail. She constant ly had UTIs. The last straw was when I got a call at 11 pm. She had fallen once again. When I got there she was on the floor complaining that her hip hurt. There were 2 young girls in the room with her waiting for the hospice nurse to arrive. They had no idea what to do because they were not nurses or aides. They said that they found her on the floor. There was not a nurse on duty who could help. The only person that I saw was a charge nurse and I don't believe that she was even a nurse. (Aren't they supposed to be nurses?) I believe that she was Just a worker on duty to handle the meds. It was after 11:00 and my sister was in the clothes that she wore all day. They did not even get her ready for bed. Obviously no one had entered her room all evening. The excuse was that she liked to eat her ice cream late at night. So they were waiting. Is that not unbelievable? Im guessing that she was trying to get to her bed when she fell. She had to have been on the floor for several hours. We complained so many times and absolutely nothing got better. I'm not sure how many times she fell but I'm positive that we weren't aware of all of them. I could go on and on about the lack of care at New Haven. The food was horrible. They said they were working on that. When we moved my sister and the last items were being taken from her room, I looked back at the filthy carpet and thought..... I wouldn't let my dog stay in this room. Please know that this review is not an exaggeration. If you do decide this is the place for your loved one, visit often. Then again, I went almost every day and things still didn't get better.

My mother was admitted for rehabilitation, yet during the nine days she was there, she never received the rehabilitation she was admitted for. A physical therapist finally came to see her after she had already been there for seven days. By that time, she had spent most of her stay lying in bed. What made the situation even more upsetting was that she was often left in bed because no one would help get her dressed or out of bed. There were also times when she was left sitting in urine without being changed promptly. No patient--especially an elderly person--should ever be treated that way. Even more concerning, she was not given her insulin as prescribed. To make matters worse, the attending physician never saw her during her entire stay. The first time I visited her on the second floor, I stepped off the elevator and was immediately met with the smell of urine. That was a major red flag and reflected the overall condition of the facility. After nine days of virtually no meaningful care, we decided to remove her. Instead of facilitating her discharge, the staff delayed the process for hours, telling us the doctor had to see her before she could leave. Our response was simple: **Where has the doctor been for the past nine days?** We felt the delays were unnecessary, so we took her out rather than continue waiting. Based on our family's experience, this facility failed to provide the basic level of care my mother deserved. Our elderly loved ones deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. When families entrust a rehabilitation facility with the care of a parent or grandparent, they should be able to expect timely medical attention, prescribed medications, rehabilitation services, assistance with basic hygiene, and a clean environment. One final thought: if the time and energy spent responding to negative Google reviews were instead focused on patient care, I believe this facility's reputation would improve on its own. Great reviews are earned through quality care--not through responses to criticism. Families are trusting you with the people they love most. That trust should always be your highest priority. Sadly, that was not our experience here.

To start, the community is so inviting and really does go above and beyond to make it a wonderful place for their residents. All of the staff we have met so far have been friendly and incredibly helpful. If you have any special requests they really do accommodate them. You can tell the extra time they spend each morning getting the residents ready for the day and making sure they are well fed and entertained. She has been at other facilities where you barely see management. That is not the case here. I regularly see management out interacting with the residents and their families. They are all approachable and willing to help at the drop of a hat. We honestly can't be happier with this location and plan to keep her here as long as needed. If you're looking for a caring place for your family member look no further. This is the best place there is in the area.
