Who reviews churches? Well, having been to nearly every Catholic Church in the St. Cloud and…read moresurrounding area, I feel well qualified. St. Anthony's is a modern urban Catholic Church with a small architectural footprint. They used to be in the basement of the school building across the street before they built the present Church. The Church offers a decent space for quiet prayer, and a lot of natural light. Personally, I don't care for the large Resurrecifix that you'll find behind the altar, but you can always close your eyes. The new stained glass windows - one of Mary and child, and another of the Holy Spirit - are nice pieces done by Michael's Stained Glass Studio in St. Cloud. I wish there was more stained-glass. The Church is done in the semi-round. It's all white, and in those respects it feels a bit Protestant. If you have a moment, go into the entry way of the Church and go left through the door. You'll enter an entryway where you can enter the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Here, you can pray before the Blessed Sacrament any hour of the day. This is the real gem of the Church, as it's the only Church in St. Cloud proper where they have perpetual Eucharistic adoration. The chapel has a nice statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe and some additional stained-glass work. It's a wonderful space for quiet adoration and prayer.

Other points-- The talks are relevant and life-changing. Pastors don't talk theory--you will learn what you need to thrive in the ups and downs of real life. Come a little early for coffee and to check in your kids to the kids' program. Music is excellent and loud enough that no one cares if you don't know the words. People are excited about faith so they don't sit passively. A basket is passed for an offering for those who choose to make the church their own. Most people wear jeans and t-shirts, including pastors.
