I do not recommend Graceful Movers. This was by far the longest and most frustrating move I've ever experienced. I came fully prepared. Everything was already packed and most items were disassembled, with the exception of one bed and an entertainment center. All belongings were staged in one easily accessible area, ready to be loaded. My new home is only 11 minutes away, yet it took a team of three movers over 5 hours, nearly 6, to complete the move. To put that into perspective, I've used movers before with fewer people and a much longer drive of about 45 minutes, and they still completed the entire move in under 3 hours. There was nothing efficient or "graceful" about this experience. The excessive amount of time it took is completely unacceptable, especially given how prepared everything was. To make matters worse, I still have to reassemble my furniture myself. At the pace they were moving, I can only imagine how much longer it would have taken if they had done it. We hired Graceful Moves on two different days, to load two different PODs for us. We had done quite a bit of work up front to stage items for loading. That said, these guys were hard working and efficient, and did a great job of keeping parts together for items they had to disassemble to some degree. They also did a good job of protecting items (with blankets/cardboard/shrink wrap). They were flexible, polite, and careful working in our house. We'd definitely use them again. read more

They really assess your needs properly when if comes to the number of guys which makes up for the hourly rate and ends up equaling what I've paid other places and these guys did way more. They brought us extra boxes, wrapped all our needed items carefully, they broke down and rebuilt furniture, reconnected our TV's, took handles off a fridge and put it back to move it, and reinstalled doors on our other fridge. They helped us center furniture and roll out rugs. They really steeped up and went above and beyond compared to any other place I have worked with. And to top it off our move was on Christmas Eve and these guys weren't bent about working on a holiday. They hustled all day and barely took a break. If you read nothing else in this review, just know that we had about 5 big furniture items and maybe 20 boxes and it took them 6 hours to move us 20 minutes away. We were quoted at 3 to 4 hours and $500 - $650 and ended up paying close to $1000. There were three movers and only one of them did any work. One of the movers liked to come up every now and then and talk at us about racist, misogynistic things (we have a recording of one of these instances). He spoke about how they weren't going fast because they kept stopping to look at the women passing by and how it's absurd that moving companies charge $160 an hour and their people don't do any work (which is exactly what was happening at that moment). He also talked about how certain races shouldn't be making certain foods and how he doesn't trust fast food because anyone can be behind the counter. My young sibling was there and has two different colors in her hair and he talked about how absurd it is that young women with different colored hair are serving you food now. I've yet to think up a correlation between race or hair and the ability to cook. One man lost his wallet while at lunch - which is completely understandable - but what wasn't understandable is how we were still charged for him being there while doing absolutely nothing but trying to find out how to get his wallet back. They broke our $1200 TV as well, there was a gigantic place on the side where they gripped it too hard and shattered the screen. I know it was them because they had us turn on all the TVs before we moved them and it was fine at the time. When we got around to plugging it in a few days later, it was completely destroyed. But all this doesn't matter because they refuse to talk to us about it. We have called and emailed and we got initial responses, but they have yet to address these issues and it has been three weeks. Our calls and emails have gone unanswered since. We sent them the audio of the man being racist and misogynistic and have heard nothing in response. They do not own up to their mistakes and charge you much more than they quote because they're not doing the work properly. Do not waste your time with these people. To begin with, graceful is not what I would call this outfit. We got three quotes and two said it would take a day and a half to move but this company said 9-10 hours. Well, we even moved items ourselves the day before to cut down and make sure. All said and done it was 15 hours and $1500 more than quoted. To make it worse, they damaged just about everything we owned in one form or another, and have not been responsive. They sent out two VERY inexperienced movers with two very experienced one and the fifth was middle of the road. The two inexperienced guys were the worse. After I unpacked and inspected all which took me two weeks as I do work full time, I responded to them with an email and photos of the damage, and I even leave out damage on back side of items as they don't show to the front. Still waiting and will be two weeks with one phone call from them when I was out of town which I returned when back in town and now four days later still nothing. Buyer beware, this is not a legit outfit and I should have done more research on them. There are reviews out there not on yelp, but out there with 2 stars! So I paid more than I ever thought I would, and have damaged furniture that has not been addressed, no response to emails from management, no way to file a claim online - these guys are not what you want in a mover. I feel I have no choice but to write this review on Greg the owner, and Ryan the sales person. Most movers send out a repair person to touch up what they can. Which is what I really need! I used Yelp to look for local movers and request quotes. This was one of the first businesses to respond and provide a relatively cheaper rate, and my moving process was as smooth as it could be! Shortly after I left a message expressing my interest, Greg called me back to explain their rates and schedule a move within the week. Sam and Alex also did a great job helping me move on my moving day. They texted me ~30 minutes before arriving, took the time to wrap all of my furniture (which actually made the moving OUT process take longer than I expected, but did not take long at all to unwrap during the moving IN process), and provided excellent customer service. Where to begin....several hours delayed start, exceptionally long move time, damages, and missing items. Let me start off by saying this was not the first time we have used their services, in fact we have used them multiple times in the past. However, that will not be the case moving forward. During a move in March our moving crew was about 5-hours late to the start of our appointment, originally scheduled for between the hours of 8 and 10am. We not notified of their delay until 9:52am when we were told the crew would now be likely to arrive between 12 and 1pm. Once the crew had finally arrived, at this point ~2pm, they were still one man short from a full three man crew for the first hour. The crew did their best and we very careful as they were taking items from our third floor apartment and moving them to the truck. However, once they eventually made it to our new first floor apartment (note: in the same complex) around 7pm things became much more hectic and rushed. The night of the move we let Greg, the owner, know our dissatisfaction with the overly long start time delay and some damages we had already noticed. To his credit, he did compensate us a small amount to make up for the delayed start that night and missing worker, he additionally agreed to discuss the extent of damages further after we were able to unpack and assess. In the following week, we noticed damages to multiple pieces of furniture including deep puncture wounds to an oversized chair, handles broken off of a dresser, and several shattered pieces of decor/plate-ware/vases. Not only were damages incurred, but we also noted after a few days of unpacking that a cardboard tube carrying multiple collectible items was missing from our new apartment. After searching our new apartment multiple times, and checking our previous residence it became clear that these items were lost during the move. After multiple weeks of failed attempts at contact we were able to get Greg on a phone call and were told that they would need to attempt repairs of the nearly irreversible damages done to the broken items. When told that was not sufficient he did offer an agreed upon fair compensation, but we were still in discussion on the tube of missing collectible items. According to Greg a police report would need to be filed per their policy, and he agreed to do this himself and provide us with the information so we could follow up on the process. We provided him multiple items of comparable value for the purposes of the police report, as well as additional information as requested. Over the next month we would continue to send weekly emails asking for updates on the police report that he had promised to file so we could stay on top of the situation. After over four weeks of no-response we decided to reach out again by phone only to be informed that he had not filed the police report. Additionally he insinuated that we only sought compensation for our damaged items after he had told us we would need to wait on police investigations of the missing items.....something which was not the case as we had been in contact about the damages well before we realized the other items were missing. At this point we will no longer be using their services in the future, and will also no longer be recommending them to anyone else. Will update following the filing of OUR Police report for HIS company policy as he has failed to do so for over a month now since he had agreed to initially file it and the issue of these missing collectible items have not been resolved. read more

Final Update: to add insult to injury, Ryan started arguing with me trying to justify this situation as "I was dishonest about what I had/needed" etc. My inquiry is in the Yelp convo is there, I was VERY specific about what I Had and what I needed. I sold all my furniture form my 580sq foot unit and had only personal items, I said a studio but since there was no damn furniture it was less than that. I had enough supplies to get the job done, given it's done by people who know how to pack correctly. His excuse was his guys didn't have the right stuff, I wasn't prepared etc. Tell me this Ryan, did the guys not having the right stuff cause them to also physically damage the walls in the hallway and in my unit as well? It's clear these guys didn't know what the hell they were doing, yet this company doesn't want to take responsibility and admit these guys may need some training. One nice thing I will say is JR , the service supervisor , was really cool, he was willing to work with me, but these sales guys are straight TRASH. Honestly I have nothing to gain from this long drawn out PAINFUL review, but there should be transparency for how dirty they did me. Not cool!!! 3 weeks post move update: Finally found all the cords they unplugged from my electronics (tv, printer, Apple TV, phone chargers, etc) shoved into a random box. Still undoing all the damn shrink wrap, on everything. I'm telling y'all, made my move 1,000x's harder than it had to be and charged me $1,000. Still trying to clean up this mess and find all my stuff that got taken apart. Damn shame, this has caused me SO much stress, lost time, and I can't even enjoy my new unit. Response for Ryan: False. I had adequate moving supplies but the way they packed was ridiculous, and all the shrink wrap and taking apart my fixtures and unplugging the cords, etc. They got lost for TWO hours even know It was right down item and I gave them specific instructions. I ended up unloading the truck basically myself While they took stuff up. Everything was placed randomly and I couldn't find my charging cables that I asked them not to unplug. I even had an extra dolly and plenty of bags to put stuff in and they had a ton of moving blankets, bins, etc they could've used instead of spending so much time shrink wrapping and whatever else they were doing while I was packing the bathroom and kitchen. They only had one wardrobe box and did not offer to buy it and instead dumped my stuff out all over the floor. I only talked to your sales manager once and he tried to convince me that this job should've taken longer and I know how long I had to move plus I had to go back and make additional trips. The guys had no idea about the job until I told them because no one communicated. I messaged you multiple times and now you choose to respond 3 weeks later. All I was offered was $100 and I paid $1000. The guys got lost for 2 hours when it should've taken 30 minutes and they only offered an hour. All I requested was $250 which is more than fair, and instead of responding you all chose to ignore my emails, calls, etc. I only had TWO phone calls. JR did offer to come help move stuff but after all the stress I did not want your guys coming back to myself. Trying to unpack all the shrink wrap and put back together the fixtures, many pieces missing, has been ridiculous. I did NOT have that much stuff. There's no excuse for this and this review is accurate. This is my ONLY negative review and it's only because you guys chose to accept that the job 1. Was not complete since I had to go back and do extra trips 2. And was not done as a professional company should. Everything was so wrong about this and has caused me missed work; I got very sick from the physical labor, I haven't even been able to cook or setup any of my new stuff in my apartment. We've been struggling for WEEKS to get a response back on my husbands damaged smoker. The movers worked hard but they only sent us 2 so it made our move unnecessaringly LONG and costed us more money for the extra time! We paid for insurance and the insurance wasn't even used- the movers didn't keep up the paperwork and when we reached out for help with our claim we were left in the dark! I was going to wait until my claim got resolved, but it's been a month since, AND over 2 weeks since I was told I'd get a call back regarding my claim. For a company who claims 'elite customer service', they have some *really* poor customer service. Hats off to the movers, they worked really hard, and the owner who I have spoke to seems like a good dude, but this has been pretty crazy to deal with. I paid for liability insurance for my move and my smoker got damaged. It wasn't handled properly between Graceful Moves and myself. I'll admit a small blame here, but it's not my job to make sure the liability insurance is handled correctly. I could tell from the beginning of the move the movers had no idea how to handle the liability paperwork. My recommendation if you decide to go with this company is demand 3 movers (they gave us 2 and the move took 5 hours when it could have been done in 3) and costed us a TON more than it should have. The second recommendation I have is if you go ahead with the liability, make SURE you check every claim you put on there AND make sure the movers know what the liability is. Update: 04/12/2021 Greg from Graceful Moves reached out to me regarding my experience and took care of my concerns. I would not recommend Graceful Moves. These guys are very very slow. They also don't call you on the day of the appointment. Its a very bad experience for me. I would never use them again. To give you a perspective, here is what was promised and what was provided. What was promised: 1) They mentioned that they would arrive afternoon on the day of the appointment. 2) They mentioned that they would call me 30 mins prior to arriving. 3) They mentioned that the move would be approximately 2 hours as I am moving in from a single bedroom apartment. 4) I asked for 3 men movers so that things would move quickly. What was provided: 1) They arrived very late at 3:35 PM in the afternoon after calling Graceful Moves multiple times. On the call with rep, he mentioned that my time slot was between 1 pm and 6 pm. I was never informed about the time slot over the phone on the day they collected the deposit of $50. 2) I never got a call. Instead I had to call several times to get an estimated time of arrival. The rep I was talking to mentioned to me that the guys assigned to my job were running late at a prior job and they assigned me a new crew. This only happened after I made 3 calls. These 3 calls were made with 30 mins gap. So within these 30 mins, they never thought of calling me back and updating me with the information. 3) They were very very slow. One of them took 2 bathroom breaks while on the clock within 3 hrs. They were chit chatting while they were supposed to move quickly. The move took 2:45 mins for my single bedroom apartment. You might think this is reasonable but not. The previous day, my friend moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to the same community with lesser time and had to pay much less than what Graceful Moves charged me. 4)  They damaged my TV stand leg and blamed it on Ikea products. They were rubbing it off that Ikea products are delicate and once moved, it would break. I didn't wanna prolong because they were discussing about it when on clock instead of moving stuff off of the truck. There were some scratches on some items and I only realized it after they left. 5) They were not wearing masks. During this pandemic, every business is supposed to wear a mask. This is not professional at all. Mask is for the safety of others. If people do not believe in it, thats fine but businesses should follow state rules and state has mandated face mask until further notice for all businesses. 6) They forgot their power drill and left. I had to call them so they can come back and get it. Its not really a problem but just throwing it here since I am writing my experience with the movers. 7) They left the unwrapped tape inside the home. They did not clean up well. read more

i booked these movers a month or so ahead of my moving time. a representative, woman, called my four days before my time to move to go over details. when i requested a bit more space, she said the charge would be approximately double the original estimate. i said something is wrong, she became defensive, started screaming, and eventually cancelled me and hung up. i have witnesses to this conversation and action so there is proof of this behavior. they do not want to refund my deposit . they also had some local guy call me to see if i was ready and packed to move a week before the moving date. this company is a sham and i will continue with my reviews unless they release my deposit. read more

Before choosing a company to go with, I received several quotes on yelp from 6 moving companies. Graceful Moves was by far the most affordable and responsive to all questions in a timely manner. I spoke with the owner who went through the entire steps prior to the move. We hired 3 movers to help us move from a two-story home to a one-story home. They arrived on time and all 3 movers wore their masks. They were all friendly and didn't waste time to getting to work. They had a system going on. One person would disassemble all the furniture, one would wrap furniture, and the other would move. We had pretty large furniture, including 3 couches, 3 office desks, 3 book shelves, 2 mattresses, and 2 large fridges. They were very gentle and careful with all items. We were able to load everything in their large truck within 2.5 hours and unload and assemble everything within an hour. They were very professional and would recommend them. read more

I reached out to Graceful Movers in July 2022. I contracted with them to move my belongings from Dayton, OH to San Antonio, TX. As I did not have a place yet in San Antonio, we decided to have Cross Country Moving store our belongings until I found a place to live. In October I finally moved to SLC, UT and contacted them to have my belongings delivered. They of course told me there would be a change in cost, which I was fine with. It has now been 60 days, and I do not have my belongings, a delivery date or anyone who will return my calls. I have had to file a claim with my local police department the Office of the Inspector General and Department of Transportation. I still don't have my belongings, and at this point I am very concerned that they don't even have my stuff. I have never been more angry and frustrated by the service of either company. As a Broker Graceful should ensure the delivery of the companies they work with. When they contract with someone and they do not meet the expectations they should find another company to assist the customer. Both Graceful Movers and Cross Country Movers have failed abismally. When I first contacted them my original quote was $2400 by the time they started to itemize everything (not sure what the 2400 covered) it cost me $3600+. They were given a 4 day delivery window, which they did not make. I ended up having to work with my landlords for an extra day because they did not keep their commitment. The day they finally show up to move me I am told at 8, 9, 10, 12, 1, 3 that they will be there. When they do finally show up the truck is so full that all of my belongings (which I paid for above) would not fit INSIDE the truck. My brand new ($4000) mattress and bicycle were strapped to the outside of the truck. To say this has been a horrible and difficult experience would be an understatement. To add to this I was just out of the hospital, after spending 2 weeks in care. I was trying to recover from health issues. Be careful whom you work with. In 10 years of using movers both domestic and international, never have I come across a more useless firm. My move was re-scheduled on short notice, then the crew showed up late and immediately negotiated for a higher rate. When I refused, i was forced to abandon furniture that was quoted as part of the move. I was promised 30 day storage, but at the last minute was told this was not possible, which forced a full payment of services immediately. Office move from Downtown to Galleria. We had an office space of about 10,000 sq ft. In a high rise building in downtown. Dealing with the "after hours only" policy of the building and the usage of the freight elevator was no small feat. Greg and the Graceful Moves crew tackled every obstacle with ease. Due to the obstacles, and sheer volume of furniture and equipment, the project took about 3 days. What set them apart from other moving companies was their honesty and genuine hard work. I supervised the entire process and not once did I see them slow down. Due to the efficiency, they hit their estimate/quote, which is huge when it comes to movers. We moved from a townhouse into a larger house, and we had stuff in two different storage units, as well as other furniture that needed to be picked up from a third location. Needless to say, we had a full truckload with numerous stops. The men arrived as scheduled in the morning in a 26' box truck with all of their supplies. They quickly got to work disassembling furniture and packing everything up to go on the truck. They took extreme care to wrap everything with plastic wrap and moving blankets. I could tell by their prep work that they were going to do a good job. After a few hours of emptying our townhouse into the truck, we headed to the storage facility. The weather was being reported as 95° and humidity reaching 100%. In the concrete jungle of the storage facility, I saw the temperature gauge on my car read 109°. Despite the extreme heat and humidity, they rearranged some things on the truck to fit the other furniture and boxes, while still leaving room for a dining room table and a large roll top desk. Aaron must have been a master at Tetris, as I was amazed at how tightly organized he packed the truck. By now it is the heat of the day. A quick rain shower only elevated the already high humidity, but they pushed on without a lunch break. (I think they ate a little something in the truck on the way to the third stop.) They found room in the truck for the final pieces of furniture and then were off to our new home. I was shocked that it all fit. The truck was packed completely full. They made pretty quick work of unloading the truck, while taking care not to damage any of our belongings or the house. They unwrapped and set up the furniture where we designated and cleaned up all of the used boxes, tape, and other packing stuff back onto their truck, and nearly 10 hours later had completed the job, with nothing damaged. I hope we don't have to move again anytime soon, but I will certainly call Graceful Movers the next time we need to. They were not the cheapest nor the most expensive when I requested quotes from vendors. I found their rate to be very reasonable, and given how hard these three men worked ALL day, it was really a bargain.
