A very handy Grainger games with great parking , a medium size shop, selling pc games, console…read moregames, and DVDs new and pre-owned , some of the pre-owned games are a real bargain from as little as £2.00 a game for the older consoles. Defiantly worth a visit you could save a fortune by going here, they will pre-order stock for you and keep it reserved. Staff are know what they are talking about. Best for cars this shop you could walk there and not to far from a metro station and bus stop , but you would tend to find you would go to town if you wanted to go to a Grainger games. But if you do have a car saving parking fees and trouble in traffic by going here. Some amazing bargains to be had, will also trade old games from you to buy a new one.

It is probably the largest store I saw on my recent trip to the Tyne and Wear Region of WHSmith, which included branches in Newcastle Central Railway Station, Durham and the Gateshead Metrocentre. This branch was my favourite out of the ones mentioned mainly down to the size, it had a good product range for items such as lever arch folders, drinks and snacks etc. The drink selection was good however I found the 2 for £2.50 promotion to be a tad expensive, considering Superdrug nearby runs a promotion to have 2 for £2, which works out £1.80 with my Unidays Discount however sadly the range they have is much poorer than the WHSmith branch, when comparing the branch nearby to this one. There also is a huge staircase in the store, with the upper floor having some more WHSmith floor space as I recall and a post office. The staff member working seemed friendly enough, although I did have to take longer checking out my items as for some reason the self-service tills wouldn't recognise the 2 for £2.50 offer on my drinks, meaning it would take longer as I had to go to the manned checkout, then I had to go through the slightly longer process of finding my card after being told they don't accept Apple Pay by an employee, only to go on to find out they did accept it and the member of staff who served me didn't know about it. This is a large, decent branch of WHSmith, staff training on payment methods, machines recognising offers and pricing needs to be worked off at paramount importance, but until then this is still a decent store and a nice branch of the chain to warrant a three-star rating.

This store in particular is very grotty and every visit to it so far has left me feeling deflated. The blue fluorescent lighting makes the shop horrible and dingy and the staff look like they are working in a prison. The store is far too big for what it is (a newsagent) and they never seem to have enough stock to justify the space. Especially upstairs. All that is up there is the post office and stationery, with a huge empty gap in the middle. I only really come here to buy snacks on the go as they have a good selection of confectionery, including American chocolates. I would have left a 1 star review but the confectionery lifts it up to 2. But as a whole, WHSmith works better in the travel industry, like in train stations and airports because their main high street stores are always eerily quiet and depressing, with the only noises being your footsteps and the occasional beeping of the self checkout.

For me, whilst others dabbled in long sessions of clothes shopping, I geeked out in one of these stores whenever I had a chance. After all, this was basically the only store that remotely sold anime-related paraphernalia or quirky little bits and pieces. Unfortunately, as a tween, anime was not as popular as now and the section dedicated was tiny in branches I visited. Over the years, the manga book selections have increased but at this particular store, it is still quite limited. For me, this store didn't offer much. I'm not a gamer (board and card) or particilarly comic-book orientated but this store defiantly would meet your needs if you are. This branch is located in the intu Eldon Square Shopping mall and is classed as being located on Northumberland Street, in Newcastle city centre, when comparing this store to over city centre branches such as the larger and more modern branch in central Manchester, Manchester Arndale, this branch really does disappoint. I've found this store to be one of the busiest stores in the mall on a recent visit, and for the size of the store, it doesn't match that, the store is too narrow and it isn't a great size making it quite hard to browse the view of games. The store also seemed understaffed and the staff members working didn't seem too helpful. They did have live demo of PS4 and Xbox One consoles, which one would play on which was nice but the location of these on the narrow aisles, made them even harder to get down, it's bad enough asking an adult to move out of the way, but asking a kid to move when they are playing a game is probably nearly as hard as the work Jurgen Klopp would have to do, to win a trophy at Liverpool. I found the overall feel, size and selection of the store, as well as the staff to be really poor, sadly to warrant a single one star rating for this branch of Game in Newcastle city centre.

All items are reasonably priced and great service always given. A nice local business rather than a large chain that does not care and only cares about its profits and not the need of the customer. This store is located in the retail park across the road from the main Metrocentre site but it's easier to get to now that the intersection is traffic light controlled. I love browsing in the Lego selection, it's enormous.
