We first chose grand hotel morado do sol based on recommendation from family in Brazil, we ended up choosing it because it seemed like the perfect place to host our wedding reception and the hotel location was convenient, the hotel looked really nice and also some parts had been recently renovated. From the time we decided to work with the hotel we were able to contact our person Erik via WhatsApp. He kept us updated on how things were going and we set up a group rate for our guests and a direct contact to book the rooms. All this sounded good but then the covid pandemic happened and our trip was in jeopardy, none of our guests were able to make it and we also had to cancel the wedding reception. We had already made the payment for the reservation and the two of us were still going to make it there. The hotel really made it so simple and convenient, they credited us the amount we paid for the event towards our stay, when it was all said and done we ended up getting money back after staying in the hotel for over 2 weeks. We also took a road trip during our stay and the hotel allowed us to keep our stuff in the room and they didn't even charge us for those days! I mean really above and beyond. The room was very comfortable, the shower was a little small but the rest of the bathroom was large, the room had big closets, a safe, a big living room and a big almost king sized bed. The hotel had room service, a pool, a gym, outdoor play area, kids play area, restaurant, bar, free garage parking, free breakfast, free WiFi, etc. As a courtesy for renting the ballroom we would get the presidential suite for our wedding night but since the event was cancelled we no longer got that privilege, however the hotel allowed us to have the room at a discounted rate. The room was amazing with a hot tub, outdoor balcony and many other amenities, we had a great trip and the hotel felt like home for sure, the staff went above and beyond throughout to make us feel at home, my wife and I were just talking and saying anytime we return to Brazil we will stay here, thank you to all the staff for making our stay even better. read more
