I hate to be the bearer of bad news and all but... Wow, What a mess. So I went to Granada dental after reading the reviews on yelp. Walking in the door I felt very confident. Well first off I checked in and the dental assistant who happened to be at the front desk was not very pleasant. I figured it had just been a long day. She did come in after that and take a couple of x-rays. She was much more pleasant the second time around. I sat in the chair and Dr. Nazari checked out the x-rays. He told me I had a cavity and that he was pretty sure I would need a root canal and a crown. ( He wouldn't know until he was actually drilling my tooth) He said he was going to numb me and then call in the receptionist to discuss my insurance. She came in and told me that she hadn't checked my insurance coverage which surprised me ( since she had a few days to check it ) and that it was going to cost me (worst case scenario) out of pocket $750.00. Now I am shocked. One of the reasons I chose this office is because they promised affordable payments. She tells me that they will split them into 3 payments for me but that they must be made over the course of 3 visits total. Including $250.00 that day. The other 2 payments within 2 weeks. I told her that I couldn't afford that (the whole country is having a hard time with money). So basically I left. (Too many unknowns) Numb mouth and all. I honestly don't feel they should have done anything except the exam without discussing my insurance first. After that I went to a my regular dentist and after checking my insurance the full charge is WAY less which they will split into actual affordable payments. HUGE difference. I would like to add that Dr. Nazari seemed very nice and straight to the point. P.S the only reason why I didn't go to Dr. Roque's office in the first place is because they were full for the rest of the week and I really didn't want to wait. read more

I had a wisdom tooth extraction and even though I was whining the whole time Dr. Nazari didn't seem annoyed by it at all, he went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and pain free. The best dentist I've ever been to anywhere ever. I only wish there was a six star rating for the folks here. A background: I'm about the worst dental customer ever. My teeth are plenty good, but I get really tense just thinking about the dentist. I both am convinced that there is nothing wrong with my teeth and worried that there is something massively wrong. My wife takes the kids to the dentist stealth (so I don't stress about it for them). I've been to a slew of dentists just around the Bay Area. Five of the changes were not my fault. Two got ditched due to job changes. (For example, I sortof liked a dentist in Milpitas, but not enough to drive there when I was working in say Palo Alto.) One cut his hours way back and was on his way to retirement. One moved to St. Louis (and I actually liked him alot). One objectively sucked. After I write this I'm going to hunt him up on Yelp and give him a one star review if I can find him. Then I've seen a few dentists which may have been OK, or may have not been great, but I ditched due to paranoia and/or reasons. Anyway, long story short (too late, probably) I really like this office. The first time I went (I've been twice), Nazari spent alot of time with me, looked at the X-rays with me, and I was impressed. I got a good cleaning. This second time, I had the best tooth cleaning I've ever had in my life, no question. I love these guys. Dr. Nazari and his staff are excellent, and the office is top-notch. Everyone was super-friendly, very professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Dr. Nazari took plenty of time to go through my X-rays, and point out areas of concern. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family and friends, which I have already done. The only thing I'd remotely ding them for is not clearly communicating ahead of time that they wouldn't be doing a cleaning on my first visit as a new patient, just an exam. I was very happy with my visit to Dr. Nazari's office yesterday! I was picky about finding a new dentist in Livermore and I'm glad i made this choice! The office is so nice and clean, and i loved that every room had a TV to watch, and to also look over my X-rays with Dr.Nazari! Everyone was so nice and welcoming as well. Love this office, I chipped my tooth over the summer playing airsoft and I was able to get an appointment the next day. Every six months I go to Granada Dental and see Dr. Nazari and his staff and every time I leave with a healthy smile on my face. Yesterday was no exception. The dental office is tucked away in the corner of the Granada Shopping Center next to Lucky's supermarket. When you walk in they have a very nice waiting room with comfy leather couches and a refrigerator with drinks and flat screen TV. Unfortunately I hardly ever get to enjoy the waiting room because they see me as soon as I walk in. Also, when I walk in I am greeting with a smile and a warm hello from their receptionist/hygienist Grace. She is very sweet and always remembers to ask about my daughter and my family and on this most recent visit even noticed that I had lost a bit of weight (hey, I haven't been eating spinach salad and running every night not to get noticed). Anyway, on my last visit (which was wonderfully typical), I was shown to one of the rooms and sat down in the dentist's chair and within a minute or two Dr. Nazari was there ready to start working on my cleaning. I appreciate that Dr. Nazari does his own teeth cleaning. I have been to other dentists who always have their hygienists do the cleaning. I like that my dentists gets up close and personal with my teeth. He did a quick thorough cleaning of my teeth, Grace polished them off, took some x-rays and I was set. I hardly had time to enjoy watching the flat screen TV that they have in front of each dental chair. In and out in just over 30 minutes...Painless! My experiences at Granada Dental have all been great, and although I have never had any major work done, I would recommend them to anyone regardless of your dental needs. read more

Moving to Livermore in 2004 posed an interesting challenge for my family. Our dentist, who was located in Cupertino, was now too far away, and posed a great burden to try and take the kids when they needed checkups. We had been with this dentist for 10+ years, so we were very nervous about changing doctors. After-all we were very happy with the Cupertino dentist. After searching and speaking with some our new found friends, we settled on trying out Granada Dental. The kids loved Dr. Nazari. His warmth, and "kid friendly" personality was intoxicating for my girls. My youngest, who has always been very nervous about anything "doctor" related, took only a few visits before she settled in and became more clam when going to the dentist - something that my old dentist wasn't ever able to accomplish. (Do you have any idea how much stress that relived from me?) Being the one hold-out, I continued with the old dentist. While is posed some inconvenience for me, it was close to my work and after all, I had been with this dentist for 10+ years. Finally, in 2007, Dr. Nazari convinced me to give him a try. He had done so well with my kids, and it seemed silly for me to deal with two dentists. All I can say is "Why didn't I change sooner?" I've seen Dr. Nazari service my the kids for years now, but never with adults. I figured him to be a great "kids" dentist - but who knew? Obviously, my bad for not trying him out sooner. Granada Dental has now become my family's only dentist. We've expanded our family by two more, and they also love Granada Dental. The office staff is also great. Very easy to work with, and although they do have policies about appointment cancellation, have worked with me when misses have been outside of my control. Overall - 5 stars in my mind. read more

Granada was consistent over the phone Schedules the appointment,followed up and gave reminder calls ect However come the day of the appointment I get two calls from 2 different people more or less saying the same thing "show up 30 minutes early for paperwork" "Show up 15 minutes early" I call 30 minutes in advance from my appointment For a receptionist to come off a little loopy and go "where are you?" Mention my wife's anxieties and condition and ask if accompanying her and having her emotional support animal on hand were acceptable I was told she'd asked her manager so long as it was in a carrier it was fine. Ok So we proceed to the appointment Bad omens abound before we can even make it to the entrance. We open the door the get a couple steps in before being bumrushed by 4 dentists/receptionists who come at us with "First a few rules no family" So we turned around and left If I call in advance and ask to confirm it's ok and mention my wife's anxiety I feel like there's a million better ways the business could have conducted itself without feeling completely confrontational and unwelcoming aswell as unprofessional read more

I didn't have a sitter so I had to bring my 2 kids and they were entertained with the T.V., crayons and books that Granada Dental provided! I was referred to Granada dental By a friend of mine. I was in need of an implant, and was really worried and finding the correct Dentist to perform this procedure. My daughter had a bad experience with another dentist so I was kind of worried. The Granada staff was very pleasant and accommodating. They put me at ease about the procedure and made everything very easy as far as dealing with my insurance. I consulted with Dr.Nazari he had a fantastic chair side manner and told me that he has performed this this procedure hundreds of times and not to worry. That put me at ease right away, I was a little worried about the pain as well. Dr Nazari explained to me that there should be very little pain involved and he was right. Very disappointed with my last appointment here. First off my spouse and I scheduled an appointment on the same day which is challenging for us given our schedules and child childcare but we worked it out. Upon our arrival, we are informed no doctor on site and that we would just be getting a cleaning. For my husband, they informed him his X-rays would indicate any major needs and the doctor would call him if any cavities show up. First off we don't want to wait until an issue becomes "major" to be indicated in an x-ray. Secondly, I informed the staff before our appointment I am pregnant and unable to complete X-rays. When we arrived no one was aware of my pregnancy. During my cleaning, I was told I may have a cavity and they would take a picture and the doctor would assess it by the picture. The picture was never taken and quite honestly I do not feel comfortable with a doctor assessing a picture of my teeth to diagnose me. Long story short, we never received follow up calls regarding our "finding." I get if the doctor had an emergency of some sort but that was not communicated to us nor were informed prior or given an alternative. The whole experience was bizarre. I've never heard of a dentist looking at a picture or x-ray to assess. The staff was friendly and kind during our appointment. This review is not based on our experience with the staff. However, the way business was conducted was just odd. read more

Let me begin by saying that I do not like to visit dentists as my last dentist was horrible and made my teeth super sensitive after the cleaning. But after visiting Dr. Nazari I am a fan! I finally decided to visit him purely based on Yelp reviews and he is awesome. So yesterday I got my teeth cleaned, a cavity filled and a wisdom pulled out. The whole process took about an hour, and it was painless...yes painless and I mean it. I was very apprehensive in the beginning as it was going to be local anesthesia, but Dr. Nazari gave me enough anesthesia to numb it. Tooth was out in less than 5 mins and I am already feeling good today without any pain or teeth sensitivity after the cleaning and thats huge for me. Some things I loved- -Clean, modern office space -Hygenists were good and went over all care process later -No pushy tactics to get you into the office -I asked for all out of pocket pay upfront and they were very transparent with that. Make sure you do this so you do not have last minute surprises. -Saw a drink area stocked with coffee, water etc. However never used it. -Clean restroom -Easy cancellations but remember to do this 48 hours in advance (else you will have to pay $50) -Quick follow up 6 month visits setup right after your visit I would highly recommend Granada dental in a heartbeat! read more

I've been thrilled with the level of exemplary service and the warmest staff you could ever encounter. I'm thankful for Dr. Nazari and his staff. After 7 years of providing me general cleaning and taking x-rays, i had become very unsatisfied with the diagnostic abilities of nazari. He missed a cavity the size of a pea, thou many ex-rays had been taken. The staff made me feel welcome and answered all my question without me feeling I was asking too much. At other dentists, every time I get a molar pulled, it's a long process with a lot of swelling and pain afterward. Dr Nazari was able to shimmy my hard to pull molar with no problems.
