It isn't a secret that I am a huge fan of Grand Frais. Although excellent seasonal fruit and vegetables are available at many local markets in France, Grand Frais offers a wider selection of fresh, exotic produce. Grand Frais is similar to Whole Foods in the U.S. and where I go when I want to find those items which are unavailable at my local hypermarché or what is found locally on market day. This particular location, which is on the outskirts of Toulouse, has many varieties of tropical fruits. I bought mangoes, maracuja, lemongrass, fresh herbs, mushrooms, kale (which can sometimes be hard to find), berries, pomegranates, squash, and cheese. There was lots of cheese from which to choose, particularly cheese that does not have rennet (which can be challenging here). The store is clean and checkout was swift. Great service! I will definitely be stopping here when I shop in Toulouse. read more
