The duration of our stay was 9 days july/august 2016 ,in a party of 3 ,2 rooms.
We selected this hotel based on location , panorama and sea access ( the latter being dramatically rocky , thus fewer screaming children).
Between us our rooms were 1 street side and 1 sea view .Both spacious and well furnished ,street side was surprisingly quiet. Except for the dog across the street that would bark at passing traffic and pedestrians betwixt 7.30 and 8.00 am . Funny thing though we never heard any traffic noise ,it's a busy street at that time too .
Breakfast was a well stocked hot/cold Mediterranean buffet affair with emphasis on cold ,that's pastries ,fruit ,cheese and yogurts ,not temperature . I thought the scrambled eggs could use a little more work though . We breakfasted everyday at 8.00am ,we were never rushed or pushed ,attentive staff and tea is better by the pot ,ask to receive .
For daytime snacks and drinks the "american bar" quiet, shaded, friendly staff who sometimes forgot your order while being so friendly ,with others . However the offer of "on the house" smoothed rumpled feathers and you're on holiday after all.
Lunch buffet as served at the bar? I thought better value could be had at "Oleanders" the on site restaurant .
We loved Orleanders , dinner menu changes everyday . It took us 5 days to realise that give the maitre'd /kitchen enough notice (24hrs to gather the ingredients )and almost any meal was available . So we did and we got and enjoyed.
We witnessed several wedding receptions , definitely a romantic place to hold such an event.
It was our first visit to Sicily looks like we picked a winner , wish we picked lottery tickets with the same result . saving for our return visit as I write .
PS must learn more Sicilian/Italian . read more
