History

Established in 1989.

Grand Rental Station was opened in Vinton in March of 1989. At the time it was a branch off of ServiStar Corportation which later merged with True Value Corporation. SevriStar had a large market in the hardware business and branched off into the growing rental business. Now a part of True Value Corporation, Grand Rental Station has a strong name in the small contractor and homeowner equipment rental business and is very strong in the party rental business. Grand Rental Station moved to its current location at 1000 Vinyard Road, Vinton, Va. in 1993 located behind McDonald's.

Meet the Manager: Chris M.

Chris M. joined the family business full time in the summer of 1989. Chris had worked for years while attending college in his fathers hardware business and came on full time in the summer of 1989. Chris's dad had just opened a new business that spring called Grand Rental Station and it was 'nt long before Chris moved from hardware to rental. In 1992, Chris's dad sold the hardware store to concentrate fully on the growing rental business. In 1993, Grand Rental Station moved to its current location at 1000 Vinyard Road, Vinton, Va. Chris and his dad ran Grand Rental Station together until 2008 when they decided to sell the business to another local rental owner that had 4 other rental stores in the region. Since July 2008, Chris has run the Vinton location for the current owner keeping the store under the business name Grand Rental Station.
