Review is for the women only hammam around the back of the mosque and through the cafe/restaurant!…read more I needed a super last min visit to the hammam because I was in dire need and thankfully you can just walk in to this hammam AND it's open on Tuesdays (whereas some other places are closed) No one spoke English (understandable) except for one lady but we made it work. When you enter your given a plastic pouch with a Kessa glove and black soak scrub if you elect it to have the grommage treatment. You put the soap on yourself in the communal hammam area. Then you will be lead to another room which is not private in the least because it's two showers on either end so there are people coming in and out, but that's where you get your scrub. You get scrubbed all over including the feet and so that's the one place where I wish there was a more hygienic technique because the order of body parts being scrubbed had no method only madness. So while my feet should have been the last thing scrubbed they were not. Next came the massage I had had me almost nodding off several times (okay admittedly I was extremely bone weary because I had done three other countries in the three days before that and was running on next to no sleep and having averaged 30k steps per day) but let's make this about the masseuse! I went for an hour long and it included a facial massage and tons of oil. After your treatment, you're given Moroccan mint tea and relax in another communal area on leather couches, while a fountain burbled and some soft and soothing instrumental music plays. My experience took me maybe two hours exactly for all of my treatments and I could've been there longer had I come a bit earlier so I would've had more time to relax post treatments but none of my treatments felt rushed so it didn't bother me. In total it costed me 110 euro which I consider worth it.

If you are a woman in shorts and with uncovered shoulders, you will have to pay to borrow something to cover up with. The bathrooms are truly disgusting so don't bank on coming here and using them. You're better off elsewhere. Didn't try the cafe.

Upon arriving, we actually had to find a new table since the restaurant's resident cat was sprawled across the couch, taking an afternoon nap. When we were settled in, we ordered the tagine with beef meatballs; couscous with chicken; and eggplant and carrot salad. Everything paired so well together. The tagine was incredibly flavorful - it tasted as if it had been simmering for hours. The couscous, stew, and chicken all arrived on separate platters - it was a little awkward to serve, but the sum of parts was delicious. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the vegetable stew was the optimal accompaniment. The tangy carrot and eggplant salad provided a source of brightness to the meal. Dining in the beautiful setting of the mosque-restaurant added to the overall charm of the experience.

The mint tea is probably their most famous drink and I see why it is. Perfectly sweetened, served in a glass but it is warm; don't try to chug it. There is a wide selection of sweets. Once you pick your table, a server will come with beverages. Then you can walk back to the entrance of the cafe and pick your sweets. The garden itself is very private and relaxing, away from the street noise. It was a nice little corner of heaven.

My boyfriend and I usually get one tajine and one couscous - the mixed one with all the meats is delicious. Lamb is so tender it falls off the bone. They have good vegetarian options as well. Wine is mediocre. Price is reasonable. It's my splurge restaurant when this broke kid wants something nice. Only complaint is no ac - normal for Paris, but when you're hot and trying to put away that much food it's not a good combo.
