If you see any reviews from the last few months that are good, that's because they gave you a gift card for it, so that's probably why you see good reviews before mine.

I was honestly shocked to see some negative reviews, and upon reading them, I feel we must have lived in two different places... haha. My apartment was remodeled just before I moved in last year. I've got very reliable and new appliances, no leaks, great insulation, and it's so quiet that i'm worried sometimes that I must be the loud neighbor... haha. I live upstairs and so I barely had to run my heat in the winter which was amazing. The a/c works beautifully in the summer. I came from California where any a/c unit was shoddy at best for an affordable place. I nearly cried with joy the first time I came home to a cool house in the heat of summer. I've always felt safe here, I feel totally at ease to walk outside at night - which is new for me coming from a downtown area in northern california. I think there were a scattering of car break-ins in the neighborhood, but nothing crazy. Kenwood is an oasis in the desert of apartment hunting. It's absolutely beautiful, affordable, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the more populated areas, and yet conveniently close to just about anything you would need. I've been here about a year now and it's honestly the best place I've ever lived. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I can always count on any maintenance issues being resolved in a very timely manner. They have events to bring the community together year round, which in my opinion goes above and beyond what an apartment community has to do. The neighborhood is quiet and walkable, and full of flowering trees. Speaking of trees, the apartment grounds themselves are absolutely breathtaking. There's plenty of shade in the summer, and it's even quiet and secluded enough from the highway that you'll see fireflies gathering over the lawn and around the trees. In the winter they are 100% on top of shovelling the parking lot; I never once worried about getting stuck. There's storage available on site as well which was super convenient for me. Parking has never been an issue as there's an abundance of visitor parking as well as resident parking. I currently work just across the way at Kenwood town center, but even if my office moved (which they're considering) I'd stay right here. I can't brag enough about how much I love the home I've found at Kenwood.

Somerset had a lot of promise but falls on the lower end of the spectrum due to management. Right off the bat, I couldn't obtain, even by paying, extra keys for pet sitter, etc. Had to use a lockbox on a light post for more than a year. The apts are "renovated" (and you pay for it) but it's not done well. My vent fan in bathroom was spitting construction dust every time my neighbor walked upstairs (the walls and floors/ceilings are so thin, you hear everything - everything) and come to find out it's because they *painted over it* when "renovating" the bathroom (tub also peeled the entire time I lived there despite repair attempts). I'd report water damage from unsealed doors and windows and they'd come scrape the plaster that needed to be repaired - but then never repair or paint it. T*ffany the designated contact sent frequent texts with questions like "Did you dump clothing in front of the building?" No, I did not. The one thing they won't text to warn residents about? When two men were breaking into cars in the lot at 4am and pretended to pull a gun on me and pushed me when I startled them. Reported it to building and residents got nary an email. Mgmt enters your apartment A LOT. Like once a month. One time it was to make a list of apts that had various amenities (they don't keep track???). You nearly always only get the legally mandated minimum notice. On a work trip and can't spend 4 hours the next day doing their list to get it ready? Not there to secure your pets? Oh well! They assume no one goes anywhere and can take a half day off work. I was told after year lease that apt would go "month to month" at market rate - LOL. Market rate would've been lower than I'd rented it for, they raised it significantly, then added a "balcony charge" as well as a $200/month surcharge for being month to month. Jumped from $1300-ish to $1800-ish. Needless to say I got the h*ll out of there even though I preferred to not sign another year lease as I want to buy -- that's how much I wanted out. The place is also incredibly noisy - from both your neighbors as well as the outdoors. It looks nice when you look at it but start poking around and it's all smoke and mirrors.

The apartments are very nice on the inside and the Somerset staff is always quick with any maintenance or repairs that need to be done. We never had any issues with the plumbing, heat/air, or appliances during our time living here. There is a grill/patio at the top of the hill accessible to all residents which we utilized often in the summer. The apartments themselves are just a few minutes walking from Mt Lookout square which is full of restaurants and bars - a fun place to be on a weekend night and nearby local golf courses, parks, and shopping areas. For commuting, Delta Ave is right off of Columbia parkway making it about a 15 minute drive to downtown. I-71 is just as easily accessible 10-15 minutes to the north. Overall, I would recommend anyone to live here. The apartments are nice, the staff is professional, friendly, and helpful, and the area is great!

I'm escalating their way of business to the BBB. They need someone on site 24 or atleast a number we can called or something. Twice in the last month I have not had any hot water. It's in a terrible neighborhood and there has been a ton of break ins recently. They keep promising to put cameras up but seeing is believing. The surrounding areas for food are pretty bad. I always go out of the area to shop for grocery's or get food or anything in general. I moved across the country not knowing what was what and I really regret moving here to the apex UPDATE : 8/30 the power is out yet again. I have no clue why but this is the 5 time since I've been her since December 2023. Neighbors got power to the right the other building across the street has power but the central units keep losing power. Losing power and water multiple times is absolutely terrible. Feel like I'm in a third world apartments. Called Duke and all they can say is power will be on shortly. I don't understand why it keeps happening to this mess apartments Greatly wish I never came to live here!! Live here!! And no cameras yet! I will post when they have gotten cameras. The management is responsive and friendly. Centrally located just minutes from shopping & restaurants, it offers green space on all 4 sides w/ expansive views. Pet friendly with a Barq Park & lots of walking space. I am a senior focused on specific needs like safety and ease of entry. Maneuvering a security building far from parking was not an option for me. There are multiple first floor entry options & ample parking right out the door. Lighting is excellent and I often walk after sundown feeling perfectly safe. I really enjoy living here and it made the transition from home ownership to apartment living bearable.

Since I've lived here the staff has even hosted 2 events at Madtree for the residents. It's been a great way to get to know some of the neighbors. I love the quick, 5 minute commute to many places such as Oakley Square, Kroger, Cinemax, Rookwood, etc. The community is friendly and quiet and I love meeting up with friends at the pool during the summer. They were also great when I had switched jobs and I had a minor gap between paychecks, which caused my rent to go over the "allowable" late time. They were always on top of things and were very kind any time I needed anything. I ended up getting the majority of my deposit back, so I was very happy with that - but it was easy, considering the apartment was already very clean when I moved in. My apartment was nestled back towards the wooded area, so it made it really beautiful during the summer and fall, and my apartment never got overly hot due to the shade from the trees. I would say the ONLY downside to that would be the bugs that would come from the wooded area, but what can you expect? The maintenance staff was always careful about the pets, and ensured that they were not just leaving the door ajar or that they were entering the apartment when pets were "unsupervised." It was just definitely a plus having a caring office staff as well as a caring maintenance staff, because you usually just get one or the other. They also did a big "apartment meet-n-greet" at the movie theater to see a family friendly movie! They paid for popcorn, drinks, and the tickets, the only thing you paid for was anything else you wanted from the concession. It gave everyone a chance to meet their neighbors whom they otherwise probably wouldn't have. I definitely enjoyed every minute I lived here!

I was worried during the winter time because of the big hill but they keep the parking lot/roads clear and salted which makes me feel safe! This complex is pet friendly and residents have lots of dogs which is great because I have a dog also. There is lots of room to walk and many dog stations to clean up after your pet. My neighbors are not loud which is definitely a plus. The only CONS I have with this place is their car policy is way too strict. I understand having rusty, crappy cars is a big no no, but one little dent isn't hurting anyone or making the complex look bad. You also can't hang any flags and you only get one washer and one dryer per unit. The nice thing though is that they are card operated instead of using all your quarters! You also have to pay for water which kinda sucks because most apartments pay that for you. Other than that, I enjoy living here and would recommend it!

Honest review of centennial station…read more I toured centennial station (as a young single professional) in the summer thinking how beautiful the community was and was convinced to move here. Nearly the day I moved in, I wanted to leave. If I could summarize the main issues: 1. There is NO SOUNDPROOFING. You will hear everything, everywhere, all the time. Car door slamming at all hours of the night is common. I haven't gone a night without earplugs. You hear everything upstairs neighbors are doing. 2. This community is right next to a railroad, under an airport flight path, a major road. You hear all of it plus sirens and fireworks. 3. The management did not want to solve tenant problems and noise complaints. over a year of the same issue persisting. The solution is YOU moving out or paying much more to move units. 4. Every tenant pretty much has a pet with added pet excrement everywhere. I also witnessed the occasional large dog attack other dogs in broad daylight. Lots of barking. 5. The facility fees are exorbitant on top of high utility fees. I pay minimum 140 for utilities due to bad energy efficiency and high carrier fees in the area. For a studio, I pay 1700 a month. They raise prices every year. 6. Gates are always broken. Food delivery drivers are constantly coming in and out which totally negates the "gated community" perk. 7. 60 day notice makes it very hard to move out. There is a reason there are a plenthora of available apartments and constant revolving tenants.
