The backdrop to which are the characteristic reedbeds of the Broads, a great place to sit and relax in the summer, but we didn't venture out in late February! Inside, the hotel has a definite sense of style, akin to hotels of the 1930s as seen in episodes of Poirot. We were only staying in Norfolk for a short time but we did enjoy our cups of Earl Grey tea. The menu for the evening meals is done on a day on day basis, prices ranging from around £10 for a main. When we return to Norfolk we will definitely be partaking in their cuisine, as the menu was both interesting and varied. As in the name the George has a variety of rooms in which you can stay, with several advertised as having favourable views of the unique local countryside.

You have to order from the bar, both food and drinks. The menu is varied, with an interesting variety of pub fare. I went for the standard fish and chips. It was a very good filet of fish, perfectly battered and fried. The chips were pretty good as well. The accompanying peas were kind of blah. Others at the table had a burger (seemed good), the beef pie (also good) and salmon. Not sure if I would go out of the way to come here but if you happen to be in the area, it's a good spot to catch a drink and a bite.

It is a big place with good sized, clean rooms tea and coffee making facilities and colour tv's in all rooms and ensuite rooms also availible, suitable for both leisure and business purposes. The room was an en-suite. It was clean and comfortable, (brilliant use of space for the tub and toilet) with coffee and tea mini-bar and a colour tv. The only downside of the place is the rarity of buses going to my destination which was the QE, but I guess it could be my fault as I was an outsider from town. Overall, a nice place to stay and I would definitely choose it again if I'd go to King's Lynn.

The full English breakfast was so nice. The coffee is served in a french press pot. Each table has a live blooming orchid. For a two night stay was about $150. Free wifi. One block from the beach.
