    The Hotcakes *weeps*
    Maryam G.

A friend and I were visiting London for a quick trip, and in our search for the best brunch spot in town, we found Granger & Co. It absolutely lived up to the hype. On a Thursday morning, we found the place quite packed, but opted to sit outside where we were waited on very well despite the rush indoors. Our drinks--fresh OJ and a chai latte--arrived quickly followed by our main dishes. We got the corn fritters, which were packed with flavor and fresh ingredients, the whole corn kernels bursting in our mouths. But the real show stopper was the hotcakes. Thick, pillowy, and not too sweet, the hotcakes are absolutely divine. I am still thinking about those hotcakes 2 months after our trip and mourn that I can't return any time I want. For all those locals who can, please go and savor Granger & Co for me, your out-of-towner Yelp friend.

Excellent breakfast! Scrambled eggs were super creamy and fluffy, Bloody Mary was excellent with a kick, grilled halloumi was tasty and sourdough toast was perfectly done.

Absolutely delightful food prepared to perfection. Aesthetically appealing and brilliant blend of flavors. The servers and staff are the friendliest and most spot on crew to be found anywhere in London. It's been quite some time since we have enjoyed this high level of substance and service!

Being a certified foodie from LA, I'm not the easiest person to please when it comes to brunch. Next to Australians, we're kind of ahead of the game when it comes to the food best served between breakfast and lunch; only, we love eating it at all hours of the day. Every day. This, of course, includes the booze and coffee. It also includes the dreaded queue winding up the road, away from the door. Yes, everyone who eats here has to wait; unless they're incredibly dedicated, and are here when they open. Even then, waiting might occur. The wait times could be anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of your party. But, let me just say: Do it! Wait in that queue as long as it takes to feast on all this delicious goodness! As you'll be able to see from the menu displayed outside, tempting you with the promise of what is to come, the food here ranges from the tried-and-true, to the exotic. My friend raved about the Ricotta Hotcakes being among the best she'd ever tasted, and brought me here just for that reason; and honestly... I'm glad she did. More on that later. For most people- myself included- it wouldn't be brunch without booze; namely, cocktails. The drinks menu here is plentiful, and while I'd like to say that I was tempted by one of their fresh and healthy juices, I didn't even realize they offered them until I saw my friend drinking one next to me. Sweets lovers, remember these words: Fig and vanilla old fashioned. Yes, it is on the stronger side, but it is one of the most well-balanced cocktails I've ever had for breakfast. Now, on to those hotcakes. I really don't know what magical ingredient they're putting in there to make these bad boys so decadent and fluffy, but if you were eating a sweet cloud, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two. My friend and I shared one portion, but to be honest, I could have polished off two plates, by myself. It's the most popular thing on the menu for a reason. The rest of the meal was also amazing, and I can vouch for the hearty burger and crispy fries, which remind me of In-N-Out fries from California, as well as the Dhaal which is a fragrant and flavorful lentil soup rich in spices and other healthy ingredients. And because I like to give as detailed report about a place as possible, I even tried their coffee. Yes, that was the bomb-dignity, too. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this menu. Amazing as everything was, though, I will never forget those hotcakes. They really are what foodie dreams are made of.

Love love this place! My bestie and I were staying in Notting Hill and we decided to come here for brunch. I thought we would have to wait for a table because this place is popular but luckily, we were seated right away. I ordered the fresh aussie, which has jasmine tea hot smoked salmon, poached eggs, greens, furikake, avocado, and cherry tomatoes. All of the ingredients meshed perfectly well together. I also got some freshly squeezed OJ to go with this meal. I honestly wish my breakfast could be like this every morning lol. Anyway, I highly recommend the fresh aussie if you don't know what to order. Can't wait to be back!

Not surprised to see a Granger & Co in Notting Hill. Bet if this place was open when Julia Roberts & Hugh Grant were filming the Notting Hill movie, their bougie asses would be here because it's trendy and tasty. If you're visiting London, I wouldn't say this is a place you must eat at, but I would suggest this if you are here more than a week, staying nearby and have time, or are local. There seems to be a queue almost every time I come here, so be prepared to wait especially on weekends. Their menu changes by season, but most of the dishes stay the same and they switch up the protein. When I came here a few months ago, here were some notable dishes: +Kimchi & Soft Shelled Crab Fried Rice with Poached Egg: The crab was perfect, but small and the kimchi did not have that acidic kick. It is pretty filling though! +Ricotta hotcakes, banana and honeycomb butter: This was surprisingly really fluffy, and maybe some of the best pancakes I have ever had. As simple as it sounds, these hotcakes were packed with flavor and the texture was airy. +Grilled cheese and kimchi open sandwich: This was pretty, but the kimchi was a side chick in this and it felt like the microgreens on top of it were just for presentation. Overall, this is a great place for a weekend brunch or a leisure filled lunch. I would not go here if you were in a rush and again I would not go out of your way to go here. The ambiance is nice, but really loud at the same time.

I was taking a stroll to Hyde Park on a beautiful fall afternoon in London when I came upon Granger & Co, a very inviting dining space in Notting Hill. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on a weekday afternoon lunch hour. The space is trendy, bright, airy and comfortable. Our server was a very endearing Australian young man who took great care of us in all regards. We all toasted our last day of vacay in London with expertly crafted espresso martinis. There is a very eclectic menu with many different choices; in the end, though, we chose from the "Bill's Classics" section. I got the Sweetcorn Fritters, Roast Tomato, Spinach & Bacon with an avocado upgrade. Everything was fresh and wonderfully delicious, and I simply have never encountered a fritter quite this unique in it's taste. We also had the scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. Sounds simple enough, right? But these eggs were fantastic, they're like whipped, they have a wonderful mouth texture, and the toast was very fresh and hearty. Lastly, we enjoyed the Ricotta Hotcakes, Banana and honeycomb butter. Another unique combination, and a rich, decadent variation on hotcakes that I'd never had before. All in all, a wonderful dining experience, even to include the immaculate restroom facilities. Granger & Co is "highly recommended" for the value, quality and quantity of it's cuisine.

Ok, this was the best brunch i had in my life. We waited on the queue for 30 minutes, absolutely worth every minute. You can check my photos, the scrambled eggs where just perfect and omg the pancakes!!! With banana, caramel, spongy. We decided to have the fungus spaghetti too. I guess everything you eat here is perfect. The service was fast and the place is really nice. I am counting the days when this pandemic is over and I'll be back having brunch here! can't wait. No puedo esperar.

We came by for a casual breakfast on a Tuesday morning, and the place was still packed! Clearly a local favorite. We lucked in to some seats after only a few minutes. There was so much diversity on the menu, and I had a hard time choosing - but ultimately I ordered the "Aussie" breakfast: poached egg, smoked salmon, avocado, tomatoes, herbs, and toast. It was a beautiful plate of food - especially the perfectly poached egg and the smoked salmon. I loved the variety of flavors, textures, and temperatures. My husband ordered the Ricotta Hotcakes with honey butter + banana, which I snuck a few bites of and really enjoyed. They were legitimately loaded with Ricotta, and the honey butter was a delight.

Things were looking promising when I saw a vegetarian breakfast offered in lieu of the traditional English breakfast. I was drawn to the dish because it offered spinach and hash browns in lieu of all the meat in its partner dish. My friend ordered the regular Full English and her dish came out well before mine. I waited roughly 10-15 minutes longer for something that would appear to take less cook time. The plate came out and I noticed there was no spinach. I was not offered a choice as a substitute nor made aware of the situation. Long story short I ended up ordering the Full English and they forgot my black pudding. Waited additional time for that as well. Then they forgot I asked for the bill. Overall, I would not recommend it, especially if you're on a time schedule and multiple mishaps occurred. We're quite proud of our coffee scene, and Butter Bakery could beat out most of the options in Portland. I had an oat milk latte and an americano, plus a few food items. Let's start with the americano. Now, I'll admit, I'm not the most skilled barista. I have some sense of how to pull a shot of espresso, but I'm not brilliant at it. With that as context: I do not exaggerate when I say there was more of that delicious creamy head on the americano than I've managed on some straight shots I've pulled. The espresso roast was subtle and sweet -- I waited too long to write this review, so I couldn't cite precise notes, but this is definitely a roast I could enjoy sipping on and slowly analyzing, while still being very approachable. The americano was perhaps a tiny hair more diluted than I would have liked, but it didn't quite reach "watery" either. I choose to see this as a deliberate choice to further open up the profile of the espresso. The oat latte was expertly foamed, with the right amount of oat milk so as not to overwhelm the espresso. It was on the dry side, almost a cappuccino, which is exactly what I prefer in a latte (if I wanted a cortado, I'd ask for a cortado). I don't know which oat milk they use, but it was sweet and creamy and simple and complemented the espresso beautifully. There's also a food menu that, while not hugely extensive, is packed full of gems. I very much enjoyed the pesto mozzarella tomato panini with extremely its fresh ingredients. It's about the size you'd expect for a cafe panini, and thus a bit more expensive than I'm comfortable with, but I'll chalk that up to the location -- compared with other local options, Butter Bakery Bar and Cafe is absolutely a contender for a budget lunch. Lastly, I'll just mention: I did not try the Mediterranean mains options, so I can't speak to their quality, but seeing things like mezze on a cafe menu is a nice change of pace.
