Great atmosphere and decor. Restaurant is excellent. We located to all the tourist attractions in Moose Jaw. This place is a gem of the Jaw.

Words can not describe this beautiful restoration. We are still in total awe of the grandure of the building to the professional staff that go over and above to make us feel like royalty as soon as we stepped into the building. My whole family is raving about The Grant Hall, and we will for sure be back. WELL DONE!!!!!

A personalized dessert courtesy of our server!

It is hard to give this place only a 4 star review as I always try and look for the good but I am an extremely particular person and tend to grade on a curve because of that, and want to be fair to my 5 star reviews. My standards are set by my best experiences and although there are many wonderful attributes of this dining hall there are important points that are the reason I have to say 4 not 5 stars. The atmosphere and ambiance are lovely, I loved everything about the decor. Based on the crowd they seemingly cater to a slightly "older clientele" which is why I was surprised by the split in service. What I mean is, there are mostly male servers who are professionally dressed in suitable attire for this type of establishment, but then there 1 female working there who was not in any type of uniform but was in fact wearing thigh high leather boots and an animal print top that was more circa "Pretty Woman" movie (pre makeover scene) that had both myself and my husband very puzzled. He commented that she seemed more suitable for a BP's lounge then the #1 rated restaurant in Moose Jaw. We were there for our anniversary and were quite dressed up as were the other customers, so she seemed very out of place. Our server was also female but in uniform and was sweet but not quite the level of professionalism that the male servers seemed to be portraying. In regards to the food, the menu is great but I found each item we ordered to be lacking in 1 area or another. We first ordered 2 starters - the bacon and scallops ($17) which came as 3 small scallops across 2 strips of back bacon, the flavour was decent but the portion was relatively small for the price, we would have been very happy with either 3 larger scallops or more small ones if that was all they could source. The second was a Lobster and Crab cake ($14) came as 1 decent size portion. I wouldn't advertise it as lobster as it just tasted like crab and my husband got 2 small pieces of shell in his bites but the corn relish was nice that came with it. Main course: I ordered the Duck ($29) and my husband ordered the beef tenderloin ($35) We actually switched meals a couple bites in as his steak (ordered Medium Rare was Medium well) and the duck wasn't really what I was expecting. It worked out as Im pregnant and ate the overdone steak and my husband didn't mind the duck. There was nothing exceptional about our meals, both were served with the same cabbage and onion "stir fry" which had a couple slices of zucchini and maybe it was kale or swiss chard but it was soggy and bland. Ive never had duck served with a side like that, Im used to duck either being smoked or at least the skin be crisp, this was plain and large part was inedible because was too fatty as it was not cooked in a way that rendered it out. We waited quite a long time for our waitress to return (10-15 minutes) after we had finished eating waiting for our plates to be cleared and wanting to order desserts. The restaurant was nearly empty at this point but none of the other workers helped our server by clearing our plates, she came rushing back into the dining hall saying she was also serving a large private function in a back room. Fair enough but someone could have helped her with us as they were all standing around doing nothing. We ordered desserts and they were by far the best part of the meal. Extremely large portions and the taste was delectable. Hubby had the Chocolate Peanut praline bar ($10) and I took her recommendation and ordered the cheesecake in phyllo ($10) which is easily one of the best desserts Ive ever had. Ambiance : 5 Stars Service: 3.5 Stars Flavour: 3 star Yes I recommend this place, yes we would go again because we loved the hotel and want to stay there again and the restaurant doesn't break the bank but now we have a more realistic expectation of what its like. Capone's Hideaway Motel - Bed, microwave, mini fridge, TV

The room remained 24 degrees warm all night, (I'm just going by feel, since the thermostat had no cover on it) despite it being chilly outside, and having two windows open. (Neither window had a screen)The tv didn't work(for me)--apparently you have to push two buttons and be sure you're close enough to connect. Also there was no table lamp, so my choice was to either have all the lights blaring at me or darkness. There was a microwave, a fridge, a desk, two end tables but no coffee pot, no cups or glasses, to drink from. The floor had one of those restaurant carpets that are impossible to determine how dirty they are. And yes, from the night before, to when we did checkout to see if I'd get my damage deposit check back, I mentioned all of these items to the management, so if they read this there should be no surprises. I also mentioned the grime on the door and when she explained that it was the colour of the paint, I couldn't help myself and got a wad of toilet paper, wetted it, and demonstrated that it was NOT the colour of the paint. On the positive, the bed looked and smelled clean and I left all my luggage up on the several table spaces. I paid around 82 dollars and felt vaguely ripped off. I think they should be embarrassed to charge that. Nothing a good cleaning wouldn't fix. And hopefully they will fix it. Then it might be worth 82 dollars and change.

Let's see - where to begin....always start with the positive. The antique car on the motel sign is…read morecool! Location is dope! That's it! Be leary when registering as the front desk clerk has you sign the registration card in pencil; room was very outdated; air conditioner rattled very loudly; lamp shades broken; shower leaked; faucet handle in the bathroom pulled right off (clerk laughed and said to me "Oh well, I didn't charge you a damage deposit"); holes in the sheets; pillows were pancakes; towels were very rough; no fan in the bathroom; ad claims two double beds but in the room we stayed in, one was a queen and one was a full; paint chipping on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom; ice build up in freezer; provided dishes/pots and pans for cooking but provided no utensils to cook with; no fitted sheets on the beds; pull out knob to turn on shower was missing. Good thing I was called back to Winnipeg because I did not want to stay another night. Unfortunately I have to agree with Kelly L (2017-08-14) that they will not refund you EVEN after giving proper notice. DO NOT STAY HERE! There are way way better places to stay in Moose Jaw! Capone's is the epitome of you get what you pay for!
