We were there for mid week brunch amidst our various meetings. The food was tasty. Servings were good sizes indeed the right size. There were three of us and we had the: 1. breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon, spinach and tomato, 2. 'eggs your way' being two eggs and adding extras including great mushrooms, and 3. corn fritters. The food was a 7.5+ and the coffees were ok, a 6.5 out of 10. My one main criticism is the service is slow. We waited nearly 50 minutes from sit down to food...too long and particularly when it is mid week. Everyone is pleasant and helpful however time is not a priority which in our case meant we rushed our consumption rather than had the time to fully enjoy it. Once the slow service is addressed this joint will really hum......still a good experience and I would definitely return.

With my history in restaurants, I know how hard it is to have fresh food on a Sunday, let alone on a Monday of a four day long weekend. Each of us ordered something different and each of us commented how fresh the food was. CSC could easily have been lifted straight out of one of hip cafe suburbs in Sydney or Melbourne. The food did take a little longer, but even we expected this because of the large number of patrons, both inside the restaurant and outside. Also, the tables were a great size, easily fitting three a side. And the big, open windows make this place so open and non-claustrophobic. The menu was neat, concise and perfect for the weekend and the dishes were well presented. Also, there was a second element which made me love CSC even more - and that was the background music. It was there, it was 'up', it could be heard BUT it was NOT loud - yeeesssss! Earlier in the day, we had had a coffees and they were above average, although the milk might have been slightly burnt (too hot) in my flat white. I really recommend this place, especially for city folks travelling to Dubbo for whatever reason. I really hope they do well .... and other cafes in Dubbo take the time to visit, taste and experience what CSC do, because they do what they do really, really well.

This place was OK and they seemed to have a few local patrons. You can't really go wrong with a coke spider except if the order was not correctly taken but they got it right in the end. As for the iced coffee....it was served in a jar with handle. Not quite sure what they were thinking. The caramel oozed down the sides each time the spoon or straw was inserted. This might explain why the tables were a little sticky. It wasn't as if they didn't have an appropriate glass to put it in as the coke spider was OK. Service was pleasant and there seemed to be happy customers at another table using the free wifi. Not sure what they had as it must have been consumed well before we got there.

I decided on the Beef and Shiraz Pie-with hand cut chips and salad- it's nice to find a place that still uses real potatoes - they were great! The pie appeared to be mostly pastry but once cut into, had a very generous slow cooked filling that was very tasty. But the show stoppers were the fish and chips, and batter- dipped Prawns. We have a few places in Sydney that make nice fish and chips, but these dishes were right up there with the best we have had-fresh,crisp and perfectly cooked-the prawns were very generous and I was lucky to be handed one. If I went back I would order these dishes.I would have given this place a perfect score but two things kept that last star from being given.One is that I am still waiting for the promised jug of water the waitress said she was bringing- we would have asked again but the wait staff never checked back with us to make sure we were happy .The second thing is a common one in cafes- our meals came with salad that were drenched in dressing and were no longer crispy- I didn't mind so much but my wife has grow accustomed to asking for dressing on the side because she hates that!
