Some middle aged, rude woman who worked there treated my disabled, autistic 7 year old brother badly because he touched 1 white sample cup. We were planning on spending a lot but we walked out and chose to take our business elsewhere. I do not recommend shopping here. Horrible mistreatment. read more

If you like vinaigrettes or olive oils or adding a little pizzazz to your food, then this is a must stop for you. As for me, I can eat a loaf of bread with some oil & balsamic. . . However this place has so many options that it gives you the freedom to let your imagination go wild on how to take it up a notch. And to make it even sweeter, they allow you to sample before buying and that is the way to my heart because it allows me to taste things I may not have chosen before trying. I asked the lady how would one use some of the vinegars and she just started listing ways to use each of the different flavors from meat tenderizer to glazes to salads. I wouldn't have thought that coconut mango would be something I would buy but I can't wait to make a summer salad and drizzle this on it. Another lady suggested I mix the peach vinaigrette with the blood orange oil to which I initially turned my nose up but once I tried it I was like "oh, that's a nice flavor together!" When I left I even told them that my experience was better than I initially anticipated and that I can't wait to bring a friend back to try with her. They also sell dispensers and other dishes so you can put together a nice gift basket for someone. So if you find yourself wandering down Main Street, it's worth stopping in for. read more

UPDATE: Please read the owners response, who replied within the same day of my original review. My first thought is the owner has experienced disgruntled customers before, as she is fast to accuse me of being a liar, which is astounding as this is a public platform, and reflects poorly on her professionalism and customer service etiquette. My response to the owner: yes, your employees were in fact sitting behind the counter because one of them had to stand up in order to check us out. Perhaps they could have been circulating the store and cleaning up customers' used paper cups littering the counter tops. Instead they would rather shout to paying customers from across the room about smelling the testing bottles, whilst sitting behind the register. The snide remark about "being corrected" is an insult. There are no labels/signs asking people to use sampling cups to smell the oils that I observed. What I am objecting to here is the manner in which the employee directed her correction, not the correction itself. It's one thing to politely ask a patron to use the cups to smell the product, versus shouting from a cross the room. The woman's tone was that of disgust, as if she was tired of asking customers to follow this "rule". While I appreciate your prompt reply, I don't plan on coming back to your store. I should have trusted my instincts and walked out of the store after your employee was rude. Did you know you aren't allowed to smell the vinegar or oils? Boy, after visiting this place on and off for the last 9 years, I've never been shouted to from across the room that I am not supposed to "smell from the bottles", "because you know, people drink out of them". I was taken aback by the visual of someone drinking from the bottle, then apologized and mentioned something about dipping bread, and was given a blank stare. Neither employee bothered to leave their comfy chairs behind the register to answer questions or assist us in any way. At least the younger gal was polite when we did check out 20 minutes later; the older gal with excessive jewelry and over-indulgent eyeliner couldn't be bothered to return a smile. Check the seals! Olive oil is good. Like the fact that you can sample. We bought several bottles along with our out of town guests. Unfortunately, there were a few that the seals were faulty. Luckily it was in our pantry and still in the bag when it tipped. Our guests, not so much. It was in their suitcase when it leaked. Anyway, we happened to be in Grapevine for an event this past Saturday and stopped in to tell them what happened two weeks prior. Not only did they not offer any compensation for the faulty seals when we showed them photos, but they were condescending and borderline rude. I am very disappointed. I haven't been back to the new store front I was at the old one. I came to get my refilled and the two ladies working were so rude. I did not know you had to wash and clean before as I bought the bottle before in the old store and it was not a problem. Last time I came a few years back they just would refill for us. The ladies were rude and said too bad, instead of trying to help and understand that it was the old bottles. I asked to talk to the manager and they said sorry I can't and I can't even get her number. This place has lost my business and I will find somewhere else to get oil. Two words. Garlic Explosion. Come up in this place and taste test that flavor and tell me that is not the nectar of the Gods. You can taste test all these flavors... I could stay in here all day trying to figure out what works best with what recipes. My family loves to cook and if you do as well you'll really enjoy this place. They have different size bottles to buy I think are reasonably priced. I bought the Garlic Explosion and I've been using it for everything. Usually, I will find an oil that compliments the recipe I am working with but recently I have been looking for recipes that compliment their oil. That's how good it is. My wife bought some of their vinegars and she is excited to use them. This place is great with helpful, polite, knowledgeable staff. A friend suggested we try this place out after coming for Valentine's Day weekend. We stopped by this past Saturday and were pleasantly surprised with this little hole in the wall joint. About 25 minutes from Dallas it wasn't too much of a hike- and located along an adorable Main Street. We walked into an interesting shop. It was a tiny place with the inside lined with canisters to dispense sample olive oils and balsamic vinegars from all over the world. We loved the garlic explosion and bought a medium sized bottle ($17.95, so watch out, not cheap!- however if you bring back the bottle cleaned they will refill for $5 off). Everything we tasted was good for the most part- I was not a fan of the balsamic vinegars but my fiancé was. The cherry was interesting and he liked the blueberry. I did not like the white vinegar-- keep in mind they have bread samples cut up to try everything with. We felt that besides the prices being a little steep for the oil the girls who worked there were a little snoody however we would come back as the product is excellent. My experience was good However while I was there a regular customer walks in with her bottle to be refilled and the girl helping her made her feel bad because she left water in her bottle made about deal about it and told her no it's not my rule it's my boss. The lady real gently said if you have a paper towel I will dry it. The helper kept on making her feel bad the whole time the lady is saying just give me a paper towel.. at this point as a regular customer I would have snapped back and said you know what I will go else where. I went to Grapefest with a friend in September as this is my first year in Texas. As we were strolling down the street I spotted this cute little shop and decided to go in. OH MY! I was in heaven. They have the sample caps and you can try it all if you want! And I think I tried about 50%. All good. A lot of sweet fruit infused vinegars and oils. A few spicy ones too. Amazing little oil shop (and I do mean little) with a surprisingly large selection of regular and flavored oils. I picked up a bottle of Garlic Olive Oil which is amazing for dipping or a little drizzle over a steak or some veggies. Also I got a Green Pepper Oil and Winter Spice balsamic as well. All excellent. What a fun little place! I'm obsessed with olive oil for the past 2 years since changing my eating habits. I go through high quality oils pretty quickly...but I have never seen such a neat place like this with so many options. I sampled a ton of oils with little white bread pieces they provide. I just loved the Garlic explosion olive oil! The owner also told me about the balsamic vinegars so of course I tried those..the Dark chocolate balsamic will change your life! I asked the lady what I would do with it and she suggested drizzling it over ice cream or whipping it into whip cream! On the other side of the room was the white balsamic vinegars. Immediately the coconut mango one stood out and the owner told me it was great on fish..I was sold. I left with 3 bottles of custom oils and vinegars for less than what I could buy 3 bottles for at Target! If you bring the bottle back you can get $5 off your next purchase.
