After going to Mr. Lube (7215 Winterburn Road in Edmonton) for a routine oil change and wheel balance we began having engine trouble. Diagnostics showed that during the process of the oil change, the engine air filter was put back into the vehicle backwards, causing dirt to enter the engine, which is what caused the issue with the vehicle losing acceleration power and the inability to remain running at all. We asked Mr. Lube to take responsibility (we provided proof with documentation, receipts, and even the actual filter in question) but instead of being helpful or even courteous at all we were given the run around by the Assistant Manager, manager and district manager. Even our requests for assistance from head office went ignored. I even went to the Better Business Bureau who tried to contact them and those requests went ignored. Warning to anyone! Run, don't walk away from this company!!!

I got a 2nd opinion from a friend in the car business, so I took my tires to canadian tire on richmond road sw. They had no problem putting on my winter tires (on rims). The thing is the first time I was here the experience was very good. Both times the same guy…read moreserviced me I think his name was Festum. The first time everything went smoothly and he also offered me a discount which was awesome. The second time around no discount was offered and he tried to convince me that my Oil Drain Bolt needed to be replaced. I occasionally do my own oil changes, so I know that this is not the case. I did inspect the bolt afterwards, and it certainly didn't need replacing. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that they just wanted to upsell me on that, and it's not even a huge extra cost, it's just that certainly it's something that didn't need to be done, and I don't appreciate trying to be forced into something that's clearly a lie. I understand that these places make their money partially through upselling, and sometimes that's alright if it's concerning things that actually would help the vehicle like changing dirty transmission fluid, but not if it doesn't need to be changed! That's essentially, let's say a lower form of fraud.
