I can't even describe the amount of jokes I have heard about my sons haircut in the past 24 hours I know they have a learning curve, and you do get a round of good stylist that come through, but that's called talent that doesn't stay long... the majority just trying to make it through making it and earning a buck... be warned... you get what you pay for. I had very long hair that it took me a long time to grow and I was start to sit on my hair, I had a long braid when I went in and told the younger blond lady just to take off four inches. I explained I couldn't se, my eyes were dilated and I took my glasses off. She cut and put back into a braid. Never brought my hair to the front. The braid felt extremely short, but I decided I wouldn't freak, and I would look at it after the eyedrops wore off. When I tell you..... There is 12 freaking inches gone! It is no exaggeration. My boyfriend asked what the hell happened and said he could have done better taking me in the back to use the ax. I have cried every day for going on a week, and I have so much anger and bad energy that I don't like myself right now. I can't let it go, and the manager gave most of the money back, but still not bringing the years of growth back, or my peace. I hate my hair and am embarrassed. I can't put my hair in long braids anymore, or even a real ponytail, because it's a stump of a thing. This is going to haunt me for a very long time. A monkey could have done better. It's not even straight. It truly looks like she was the one who was blind. I will never ever go back. Don't do it. The pain is real. read more

sure the wait times are low, that's with good reason. the demand of going to Great Clips is extremely low because they are commonly known as the worst of hair cut salons. recently, my state re-opened businesses (covid19) and i needed a hair cut. i checked which spots were open and found that Great Clips was the only open location. i knew that my hair was likely to be ruined if i had it cut by their stylists, however i decided to give them a shot. worst decision i could have made. hands down the worst haircut i have had in my entire life. i could've had a blind woman with parkinson's cut my hair better than the stylist did at Great Clips. all in all, do not go to Great Clips. they do not give great clips. read more

While out running errands and in desperate need of a trim, I decided to stop at Great Clips as there wasn't a line. I shared that I needed a trim and that I needed to have my hair thinned (it's really thick). All starts off ok. Next thing I know it appears that I am getting stacked layers. Oh, and she cut off about 6 inches in the back. How would I know as I had my head tilted down for the straight trim. Think of a square wedding cake that is tiered. You could see each tier, it wasn't event. Oh and I now know everything about this woman's divorce that is happening August 6th... I get home and look in the mirror. It is beyond awful! I was sick to my stomach about even going back. I went to Fantastic Sams within 45 minutes of leaving Great Clips. They did a great job attempting to fix my hair. Great Clips is a large chain of salon/barber shops. They service both men and women's stylings. This was my first visit to this particular Great Clips, though I've been to the one in Festus, MO once or twice, but not very often. Great Clips now offers an online check in so that you can tell them when you'll be there and skip the wait time, though walk ins are definitely welcome. I didn't know before going that online check in was an option, but I still had no wait time when I got there, so that was a huge plus. Great Clips features a system where the stylist can make specific notes about what you liked or didn't like about your haircut and any other Great Clips to visit will see those notes and act accordingly. This is a great system for keeping personal details on individual clients and one that I appreciate. I'm kicking myself for not catching my stylists name because she did an excellent job. I only get a quick buzz cut on the back and sides and scissor cut the top, but most places take about 15-20 minutes to finish it. She was able to get it exactly how I wanted it in less than 10 minutes! She made conversation, but wasn't pushy or off putting like some stylists can be. She seemed genuine. The only negative connotation I have with Great Clips is the price as it was $15 for a buzz cut where many other barber shops will do it for less than $10. After tipping the stylist, it was $20. In desperate need for a haircut I decided to give Great Clips a try. After reading some reviews on this place I was skeptical but figured I would give it a go. I did not check in online, I just walked in and was pleasantly greeted by the lady at the counter. She was very friendly and I got in right away. The gal that did my hair was very nice and did a great job. My bangs didn't get done how I wanted, I think it may be that I didn't communicate what I wanted done effectively enough, though I don't mind how they are. The only thing that bothered me was that the person cutting my hair complained about a customer she had earlier in the day and how mad he made her; to me that is not good business ethics. It didn't bother me enough to not come back-I brought my two daughters in a few days later to get their hair cut. One of my daughters had the same lady do her hair that did mine. Both of my girls got great haircuts and everyone there was very friendly. My daughters and I will continue to go there. My husband however, several months ago went there and his cut was uneven. I'm sure it depends on who you get to do your hair. read more
