He mentioned the dentist is the equivalent of a used car salesman trying to make a sale. That was also my experience. No compassion or caring. I changed dentists before my procedure was complete because I didn't want him to come near me again. Don't waste your time or money as I did. Stay away from this dental office. Zero stars. The reception team, including Carla and the office manager, was extremely rude and unprofessional. There are several complaints about Carla in the reviews, yet nothing appears to be done. During my appointment, my mouth was numbed without anyone explaining what was happening, and I was then left alone in the room. I later went to another dentist for a second opinion and was told that Great Expressions had identified five additional cavities that did not appear to be necessary. After I complained and said I would never return, I received a poorly formatted termination letter in the mail. Based on the timing and content of that letter, it honestly felt like the office was trying to cover itself rather than address my concerns. Don't bother contacting corporate when they respond to your review--they offer no real help and you will never hear back regarding action being taken. Instead, you'll receive a termination letter. Based on my experience, I believe this establishment is a scam and seems more focused on making money than providing appropriate care. If I could give 0 stars I would. The staff changes on the regular; the hygienist and orthodontist you see at one visit you most likely will never see again. They never answer the phone so if you have an emergency forget it. I only came here and stayed here for a few years because it was the only dental office that accepted my insurance but boy do I regret it. In my time going there, I had to have a tooth pulled, I was told I could no longer get regular cleanings only deep cleanings because my gums were so bad but when they submitted X-rays to my insurance company for approval in paying for a deep cleaning it was denied because my gums actually didn't need it. They bill you for things your insurance company already paid for and when you call back to ask for a refund they pass your call from person to person. It wasn't until I had my insurance company filed a claim that they felt the need to acknowledge their error. I 100% feel the only reason people go here is because dental expenses can be a lot but I learned from experience leaving this dental office has been the best thing I have done for not only my teeth but for my happiness. But trying to get my own dental records back to give to my new dental office was also a draining process over the phone. I had to physically show up at the office to ask for my paperwork because they didn't take me serious over the phone. Now that I left I feel more confident with my new dentist and even though they don't take my insurance and I have to pay out of pocket, I'm getting what I pay for which is professionalism and honesty about my teeth at my dentist which is never what I felt here. read more

On February 19, 2026, without provocation, I was ambushed, verbally assaulted, abused, falsely accused, lied to, threatened, and humiliated by Mailyn Velazquez, the office manager at Great Expressions Dental/Yonkers, NY. I was also lied to and made fun of by the front desk people, Dylan, Karla, and Frank without provocation. This was all about the return of a product, which was the office manager, Mailyn Velazquez ' fault to begin with. She gave me and charged me for an extra electric toothbrush I never ordered. Then, when I returned it, she gave me a hard time and refused to give me my refund. Instead, she flipped the script and attacked me without provocation. I did my due diligence, but the irrational and violent office manager, Mailyn Velazquez decided to turn on me, without provocation. She charged towards me, screaming and saying derogatory things about me, and yelled, "You're a racist." She falsley accused me of being a racist out of the clear blue in front of everyone including other patients. I truly had no idea why she would say that about me. I was always so kind and friendly to everyone. I was very frightened and humiliated, rightfully so. I reported this to the Area Manager, Valarie Dimiero, Shawna Eury, the Division Vice President, and others in the headquarters, who at first sympathized with me, but then backpedaled and protected the staff and not me. My experience with this office was brief but terrible. I made my appointment with Thalia 2 weeks prior she assured me their office took my insurance even told me the doctor specifically. I received a confirmation email and text. I arrived at my appointment and the ladies there Jesse and Carla informed me that they no longer take my insurance and that the woman who told me they do no longer works there. They never called me prior to my appointment a whole 2 weeks before. They just had the excuse that the woman that made the mistake was longer there. No accountability on their end, they were so rude! Didn't even apologize until after I walked away. When I called back to get their names they placed me on hold continously without a word. I had to keep calling back to get someone on the phone. The receptionist who apparently hates her job, was so rude, disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. When trying to make an appointment via the phone, she hangs up on you when frustrated. Then when I went in person to reschedule an appointment due to a personal matter, she stated "you wasted the hygienist time", closed the glass window in my face and answered a call. Horrible! first off their phones don't work so you go into an endless circle of no one responding leaving a message to no response if any ,a callback may be six hours from when you called so if you have a dental emergency, this is not the place for you. I received a referral from my dentist to go see Dr. Kass who is a periodontist at Great Expressions. The girl at the desk who made the appt didn't even ask what it was regarding. I said my doctor will send you the referral & she said please get it yourself & bring it in with you because Dr. Kass won't be in until your appt. This seemed lazy & unprofessional. The day of my appt. the secretary calls me to make it earlier saying Dr. Kass wants to leave early. I accommodated her & went in early. She asks me why I was there (should've asked when I was making my appt.). I said I have a white spot on my gums that may need to be biopsy'd. She said I don't think he does that...let me ask. Then she tells me there's nothing he can do for me so I had to leave without being seen. I said this is why my referral should've been sent here & she should be asking patients what the appt is for. I would definitely recommend dr Tavarez she is truly a amazing dentist every dentist I have gone too couldn't save my bottom teeth and she did would it takes to save them, and plus she had a bran new denture made for me which came out beautiful . Also the people at the desk are also awesome especially Jackie and Nelson as soon. As I come in. If I could give this place a 0, I would gladly do so. Every time my son came, they had issues with the insurance, to find out he was right and office wasn't. To confirm my appointment, they called while I was at work, therefore I couldn't pick up. And when you show up, they said they needed a "verbal" agreement to confirm which is NOWHERE in writing agreement you sign when you first come, but are quick to charge you if you don't show. My first visit there was about 12 months ago, it was just for a cleaning and x-rays and I waited well over an hour to get into a room, and it then was something like 30-40 more minutes of waiting before seeing anyone. Yeah, it sucked, but whatever. I had to go back a few times since, one time for fillings and a couple for caps, and one for another cleaning. There was always a wait of at least 15 minutes, some times a half hour. Again, sucky, but we are all human, it's fine. So today I had a cleaning scheduled for 6:20 and I literally got there at 6:29 and I was told that i missed my appointment, that the hygienist had already left for the day and I would have to make another appointment. I politely proclaimed that it was bullshit and said no thank you to making another appointment. What in the world?!!! I am here with my kid on a Saturday. Their hours display 8am-2pm on the website! I made an appointment for 9am on the website. I was called and left a voicemail 2 days ago. It says to give them a call back regarding an appointment. That's it. Nothing else. I figured it was to confirm the appointment for Saturday. She could have mentioned their office not being open on Saturdays if that were the case. Jesus. I meant to call them yesterday but got caught up with both of my kids. Anyway, calling them and it says I'm calling at non business hours. So weird. I've been here since 8:15am, parked in their parking lot. I've never experienced something this odd. To top it off, upon looking at Google reviews, a lot of them are bad! Recent too! Very recent!! I should have checked that out before making this appointment. I would say buyer beware in this one . They are listed as in my network for my insurance. The customer service is not good, I went in for an 8:30am appointment and waited 15 mins while the staff and other clients showed up and eventually one person came in to check us in. I went in for a cleaning, of course they tack on that you need a "deep cleaning" all dentist do. It's a way to bump up the add on cost of the visit . The difference here is that a cleaning here is marked up to over $1000 to milk as much from the insurance and you as possible. I really feel like they are very over priced, the person who cleaned my teeth told the doctor that I was interested other procedures that I never asked for . They drew up an estimate that was in the $14,000 range and that my end would be $5000. In the end I paid $250 for a 1/2my mouth cleaned . I was supposed to return and do the other 1/2 for another $270. I was at first told that it was $250 for the cleaning all in. If you have other options I would shop around . read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Kaci and the staff. I have received great dental care and terrific customer service. I have had crowns, fillings, dental cleanings and extractions here and they have all gone very well. I am not a dentist but all the corrections were done with the least amount of pain, with care, as efficiently as possible in good time and left me with confidence in returning for any further issues. My children and my partner are also patients of Dr Kaci and all received great treatment at this practice. I would recommend this place. read more

Came here for the first time for a routine cleaning. The appointment started off fairly routine with the assistant taking some x-rays. Next, Dr.Kaci came in, spent 15 seconds looking at my teeth and declared me cavity-free (not sure if a dentist can determine this with just x-rays and a quick peek in my mouth with no tools). He then proceeded to spend 5 minutes trying to up-sell me on Invisaline, which I politely declined several times in the conversation. After my time with Dr.Kaci, the assistant came back and said I needed more x-rays. In total I received 18 x-rays, which is more then I've ever had in one sitting. Then, I had a long wait for a hygienist to come in a clean my teeth. During the cleaning, she again tried to up-sell me on a $200+ tooth brush that they conveniently sold in the office. This whole experience took an hour and 25 minutes, most of the time in the chair......not sure where the delays were happening, but this was way too long to be spending at the dentist. Overall the cleaning was fine, but the effort from all employees was subpar and didn't make for an overall good experience, plus the constant up-selling was extremely off-putting. I go to the dentist twice a year to have my teeth cleaned and to be yelled at for not flossing, not to spend 1 hour 25 min in the office and be pressured to buy expensive tooth brushes. Avoid this place!! This is the dental equivalent of a used car dealer. They are constantly trying to push services on you. I went in for a cleaning and as soon as the dentist walked in he immediately started to sell me on invisalign. Once he saw i was not interested, he walked away annoyed. The hygienist, who performed the cleaning, pushed me into getting a special type of cleaning claiming that she checked with my insurance and it was 100% covered. I reluctantly did it based on their guarantee that it was covered. I then came to find out it was not, and they are sending me a bill for a service that I didn't want in the first place. They claim that they are a family dental, yet, for children, they can only do a simple cleaning and nothing else, I was forced to go to a pediatric dentist to perform an extraction on my 9 year old. They would not send the x-rays that were taken on my child to the pediatric dentist so I had to pay for a new set of x-rays because my insurance only covers one set a year. Overall, just a terrible place. There are many more options in Westchester County. read more

When i write reviews i give credit where credit is due. In this case i am amazed that Dr. Kaci did not assess filling my K9 tooth correctly. why i say this? I visited him for the first time back in late 2019 in an emergency for a very bad toothache which we agreed to remove it since insurance wouldn't approval for a root C.. He did find another tooth that he called borderline to be filled and that we could deal with that tooth later after i had the bad tooth extracted. after i had the extraction done the coronavirus came and i put off visits until the infection rate in NY went way down. I went back to Dr. Kaci to address the K9 tooth (get it filled). He looked at the old xray and changed the story saying it needed a root C. which i could not afford. He said it could not be filled as it was too far gone. Here i am in 2022 with the same tooth, with the same hole, still healthy, and no discoloration, and no infectious odors. Amazing that is even possible at this point. It makes me feel like he just wanted to make root canal type money in the time everyone in the country are in financial crisis. It seems that a dentist favorite words are root canal (no $urprise) At this point I'm sure i will lose the tooth since a filling was never even attempted. Great staff, and very caring! I had a horrible tooth ache that would not go away and kept me up all night, resulting in me calling out of work. It was the day before New Years Eve so I was afraid I would not be able to find any one with the time to look at it and I would end up having to wait until after. But I called up and they seemed very concerned and were able to take me for noon that day. I went in, got a few quick x-rays and was able to have a quick and painless root canal done on the spot. I immediately felt 100% better. The only thing I would have asked for is a more detailed explanation of my tooth problem and the root canal procedure. But overall they all did a great job!! read more

This office is not recommended due to the chaos that prevails in administrative management. There is none. The office manager of longstanding quit. Another longtime employee left at the same time. A new office manager was hired and within weeks quit. One dentist's assistant interferes with his doctor-patient relationships and dental treatments. Billing for procedures such as x-rays covered under the smile protection plan are billed nonetheless and no one speaks up about errors in billing. When telling the front desk about errors they stare blankly. Dr. Deluty planned to provide a workable nightguard but his assistant interfered so that he would be unable to have the lab make one.The billing clerk bills for dental treatments not provided. There is no one in charge to staff the office competently. A patient cannot even learn if dental work is back from the lab when calling for a status. One person, Mousy, says she doesn't know what lab is making the work (crown in my case) or who sent it to the lab or who to call to find out. The corporate office recommended 2 other Great Expressions offices instead. read more
