However, when my Dad had his operation cancelled, TWICE, THE DAY BEFORE, enough was enough and he went private. Being admitted to The Spire was like checking into a four star hotel. No queues, no waiting time, no stressed out nurses and sleep deprived junior doctors, No busy wards with dubious bed neighbours telling you all about their prolapsed piles, no, no, no, The Spire is private darling and that would never do!! It had free parking, a lovely, friendly receptionist and pleasant waiting area which we were in for almost a minute before a porter came to fetch dad and introduce him to his room. Quite honestly, having had no experience of private hospitals before, the room was not quite as elaborate as I expected. Maybe the chaise longue and swags and tails curtains in my imagination were a bit farfetched. The Spire's bedroom looked like a nice Premier Travel Inn with a TV and a lovely white en-suite bathroom. I suppose I was regarding the whole situation from the wrong perspective. The Spire is not about the decor, it is about providing excellent quality individual care in an environment where a patient can choose their own consultant, experience tremendous facilities and have their ailments addressed promptly. Actually, it was well posh! Dad had to choose from a menu of full English or Continental breakfast, a typical dinner was chicken and sweetcorn soup and prawn salad- he didn't want to leave!. All the staff were so friendly and there were no visiting restrictions. Dad was more than amused to realise that most of the patients were there for cosmetic surgery and I must say that I did have a look at what procedures are performed there ( boobs, nose job, lipo, tummy tuck, eyelid surgery and bingo wings...... I was just curious). Great hospital, lovely staff and dad received the treatment he deserved.

The Professor is a wonderful gentleman supported by a Brilliant team within the hospital. At every stage from appointment to admission through recovery to discharge the staff have been wonderful. The Hospital Director Mr Eadsforth has continued to improve and enhance the experience of both patients and staff, and he is well- liked and respected within the organisation. The food is excellent and I highly recommend this hospital if you are contemplating a procedure in the near future.

AVOID DR EDWARD S GAYNOR…read more I'm a young female university student. I needed an emergency doctor appointment after being in crisis in the early morning yesterday. A doctor called (didn't know their name at the time), he sounded like an older male, I told him about my depression timeline and suicide attempts. I was nervous talking to him since last time I willingly had a male doctor was 6 years ago (the last male doctor spoke horribly to me). I mentioned my American fiancé supporting me throughout, and he replied: "You're not really helping yourself having an American fiancé." I was taken back by this comment and felt like I had to validate everything else I had to say after this. I called the doctors again this morning asking the receptionist for female doctor instead and to cancel the appointment with the male doctor since I was uncomfortable, explaining what happened, he replied: "The doctor you spoke to is one of the top doctors in the GP, I doubt he actually said that." I feel doubted, belittled and hopeless to chase up about my mental health now. Overall, if you're concerned about your mental health, avoid Dr Edward S Gaynor. Put a really bad impression on the GP since he's "one of the top doctors"...

Despite no longer being a student, as part of the Brownlow Group I occasionally get sent to this…read moresurgery, and it feels weird being surrounded by students who, 60% of the time, are blatantly trying to get an extension on coursework. I can understand how if you are used to going to The Infirmary or the Ropewalks surgery it may feel odd coming to a surgery in the middle of a university campus, but the good thing about the Brownlow Group is that you never have to wait longer than a week for an appointment as there are 3 surgeries to choose from. They treat you just like they would in any other doctor's, although the gossiping receptionists sometimes forget to lower their voices. Still, it's entertaining! There's an electric touchscreen self-admission point so if you've lost your voice or are highly contagious you can sign yourself in. Although, if you're highly contagious maybe you should just stay away from public areas... The waiting time is a little longer here (I blame the moaning students) but everyone gets seen in the end so no need to worry!

The waiting area is clean with magasines and a tv, water machine, toilets, leaflets and a self check in screen to save wasting the receptionists time! The doctors are pretty good too, thorough and friendly. The nurses are all really friendly and helpfull too. A great doctor to be with.

Without exception, every member of the practice team, nursing team, and GP team is incredibly lovely, kind, considerate, and empathetic. They always take their time to listen, they reassure where they can, and they truly act within the best interests of their patients under their care. I have complex health needs and have been under the care of many, many health professionals and teams for the last 40 years (since I was a young child). I honestly don't give high praise lightly. In particular, I can't even find the words to articulate just how much praise and gratitude I have for Dr Taylor. There are many, many wonderful GPs; but she really is a shining light. I feel unbelievably lucky and hugely grateful for all that she has done, and continues to do, to look after my health and wellbeing. THANK YOU Stonebridge Surgery. I saw Cariology nurse on October last year I am still waiting for my results. It is now the end of June. To say the hospital is nonfunctioning is an exageration. I have a terminal illness but that does not seem to matter as the Nurse said to me "Well after all you are 81" does that mean go home and die. It felt like it. They need in house training not University and then landing on a ward etc with no experience of people.

There is a cafe with your ususal choices, lifts in good operating order and a local community police officer. Adjacent to the hospital which is known as Ysbwty Glan Clwyd or Y.G.C. is the Ablett Ward for the Mental Health Patients. The surrounding area is lovely with the Marble Church in Bodelwyddan a short distance away and the Faenal Fawr hospital next door.

Thanks to Dr. Zein and his team's friendly, patient's centralised attitude. I had many cases when I needed Dr. Zein's advice due emergency (my boy kicked his milk tooth by accident) and he was helpful and kind to my boy. My tooth was chipped last Friday. I phoned the Practice and I've got an appointment for this week. Generally, it's difficult to get an appointment at NHS. I'm very grateful to have Dr. Zein because it's very difficult to find a good, decent Practice/dentist nowadays.

There is no designated car park for visitors, only for staff, so parking is first come, first served on the adjacent streets, crime is quite high around here so leave your car in well lit areas and hide all belongings. All the services are on the ground floor and of course has disabled access. As well as GP services, there is an onsite NHS Dentist and Orthodontist who also provide Dental Anxiety Management sessions for those filled with dread about getting their teeth treated. Treatment Room Nurses can provide all manner of treatments including blood tests, dressings and ear syringing, and the Podiatry services are taking new referrals weekly. Other clinics held here also include, Family Planning, Asthma, Diabetes, Men and Women's health. All clinics don't run daily, so telephone first before attending to book an appointment.
