We had the octopus appetizer this time and a large Greek salad with grilled calamari. Such a refreshing, delicious dinner to share. Lots of chargrilled octopus, sliced up to eat and dressed with parsley, capers, lemon and olive oil. Ugh, so good. Drizzle more of that awesome table EVOO for even more yumminess. The large Greek salad is...large. It's well balanced, has mild feta and we got it all topped with grilled calamari (for an added $9). It's a good value as you get plenty of calamari (vs ordering an app of calamari). Dinner ends with complementary Greek cookies - kourabiedes. Bring cash app they charge a credit card fee (my only gripe here). Great food and friendly service, Greek City's menu, execution, and atmosphere all far outshine the strip-mall exterior. I've been here a number of times for weekday lunches and always look forward to it. Highly highly recommend the Thalassomezes appetizer with combo grilled octopus and grilled calamari, neither are easy to do well and this restaurant serves some of the best I've had of either. The Saganaki fried cheese is also a must-order, every time we come we order it along with the Thalassomezes before reviewing the rest of the menu. I'm an adventurous eater, but I struggle to try new things here because just the thought of missing out on these dishes has me kicking myself. As a heads up, the Mousaka/Pastitsio dishes are quite hearty particularly for lunch--if you need an idea of the heft, think ~6in diameter, 2-3in deep dishes of rich, flavorful, incredible lasagna. When we visit my in-laws in the area, we like to get take out from Greek City. I'm sure one of these days we will dine in as well. Greek City has a large menu with a wide range of options. All of the classic, traditional Greek dishes included. I love the Thalasina platter, which comes with grilled shrimp, octopus, and calamari, drizzled with lemon and olive oil. It is priced a little steep ($37) but considering the pretty large serving of seafood, it's worth it. I also love the Maroulosalata salad, which is simple but flavorful (romaine, dill, scallions and feta with a light olive oil dressing). It's a large serving, plenty to share! I've seen this place many times but never considered it because of its location in a strip mall. I finally tried it and was quite pleased. I hadnt been here in years and we met friends there with very low expectations. They certainly impressed us. As we walked in we were quite surprised at how unbelievably crowded it was. We shared a grilled calamari appetizer along with a salad that was filled with cucumbers and tomatoes. Both were quite good. And then we each got a grilled seafood platter with lemon potatoes and everything was fresh and delicious and the portion size was excellent. We finished with a disappointing dry baklava. The only blemish of this delicious meal, though additionally id have to say that the service was not so good. Amazing!! We went to Greek City for my birthday and I am quite impressed. The restaurant is very clean and the food was amazing. The fried calamari was so light and delicious, it was not greasy at all. The zucchini chips were outstanding (my husband ate a lot of them and he doesn't like zucchini)! My kids got the salads and they were the small size but they were HUGE. I got the gyro platter and I have to say, that was the best gyro meat--cooked to perfection and not salty. The moussaka was outstanding as well. The waiter was very pleasant and attentive, but not overly attentive so it made for a fantastic dinner. Had an unsatisfactory lunch at Greek City today. To start off, we were greeted very oddly by our waiter. It seemed like he didn't want to serve us right off the bat. He didn't even introduce himself at all. Every time we spoke, he seemed so confused by our requests/questions, almost as if he was trying to make us feel dumb. He made my boyfriend and I very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Plus, when I saw him attending to the other customers, he was way more friendlier. That said, I definitely think he disliked us for personal reasons as soon as he saw us. Service/staff rate 0/10. Inside, it is spacious with several roomy booths and tables. It's also decorated with a bunch of Greek pictures. Ambiance rate 7/10. My boyfriend and I ordered... 1. Pastitsio This dish consisted of noodles and meat sauce which tasted mediocre. The meat sauce tasted like it came from a Ragu can, instead of a homemade recipe. The good thing about this dish was the crispy cheese baked over the top. Rate 5/10. 2. Lamb Souvlaki Platter The lamb was seasoned very nicely. Rate 8/10. 3. Grilled Shrimp Platter The shrimp was okay, nothing special. I wish they added more shrimp (4 count) considering they were average size, and the dish was pricey. Rate 6/10. *The potatoes on the platters had a very overpowering lemon flavor which I disliked. Plus, the side salad did not taste fresh at all.* The tzatziki dip was delicious; it wasn't oily like others I've had before. Rate 10/10. The Taramosalata dip was okay. It lacked its fish roe taste which was unfortunate because that's what it should mainly taste like. Also, I asked to substitute the tzatziki dip the platter comes with, with this dip, and they wouldn't allow it. I had to buy it as an appetizer which was frustrating. Rate 5/10. These dishes were definitely overpriced and not worth it considering most of the dishes tasted subpar. They gave us complimentary almond cookies as a dessert; maybe because their whole menu is pricey! By far the best Greek food I've ever had! I got the Mousaka. Absolutely delicious! My daughter got the lamb souvlaki. Their portions are definitely large. If there's just a few of you going, consider sharing plates. Their prices were definitely reasonable for the amount of food that you get. Sooo delicous! and a BYOB! Bonus We haven't been here in years because the previous owner was so rude and obnoxious to his staff and to the diners!!! SPINACH PIE was authentic and delicous. Crispy filo without being greasy with a perfectly seasoned spinach stuffing. FRIED ZUCCHINI was perfected seasoned and fried. It is served around a mound of skordalia (mashed potato and garlic spread). I am not a fan of skordalia so I can't comment. Eat up this dish because you can't take it home and reheat it successfully. You'll want to finish it anyway :-) CHICKEN KABOB was tender and perfectly grilled. Lemon potatoes were soft and had just the right lemon tang, tzatziki was rich and creamy, salad was nicely dressed. LAMB KABOB was very good and quality pieces of lamb, but cook had some flaws. The lamb cubes were cut to different sizes so the meat was unevenly cooked. Mostly medium well and some pieces well done. I don't mind that cook, but I know most others would not prefer it. Remember to ask how you would like it cooked. I would still order it again. Same sides as Chicken Kabob. Dessert was CUSTARD WRAPPED IN FILO DOUGH. (Greek name is Galatoboureko) It's a must have dessert. Served warm and has a rich and creamy custard wrapped in filo with a light honey sauce. Sigh!!! Place was very clean and was greeted by the host when we entered. No wait time so we got seated right away, it was busy in there as well. * They give FREE bread with olive oil and were very tasty. The gyro was very tasty, the veggies and white sauce were at the bottom which is nice since it didn't get messy eating the gyro. What a hidden gem this is!!! It's in a strip mall but don't let that fool you. The people here are the real deal and they are serving up some serious eats. I went here with a large group for lunch from my company. We all pretty much got something different and everyone raved! The lemon soup was off the hook!
