You can sit outside but I would advise against it, as this is located on a very busy street. Inside it has massive wooden furniture and a nice atmosphere. I Was not disappointed, it's a place frequented by locals and visitors alike. Not having much German in my vocabulary, the spoke more English than I speak German. Service was quick and portions plentiful. I had jagged schnitzel it came with fries a small salad and mushroom gravy. It was excellent. I ordered some red cabbage it was delicious. The atmosphere is casual old style. If you want solid local food do yourself a favor and come here

I walked by here a few times, and planned to come and check it out, but there are so many other places I want to eat in Hannover that I kept putting it off. Finally, one evening, as I walked around the city center, undecided as to where I wanted to eat, I walked by this place again, and this time, I opted to go in and see if I could get a table. While I wanted to sit in the Biergarten in the back, nothing was available, so I opted for a table in the front, next to an open window. I ordered a cold Hefeweizen and perused the menu. The waitress spoke good English and I washed her recommendations, and she said that the ribs were a favorite. I was ready for something different than German food for a change, and I know the Germans can make some good ribs, I took her advice and ordered the ribs- I asked if I could get them without their "barbecue sauce" and she said of course. And I am glad I did- German barbecue sauce is very different than American barbecue sauce! The ribs were spectacular! The fries hot and crispy! This place was so good that I came back the next day to meet friend for dinner. Now I have added yet another favorite restaurant to my Hannover list!

Zuerst einmal waren die Tischreihen so eng aneinander gestellt, das es sicher dem Umsatz des Lokals hilfreich war, aber für Gäste, die öfters zu einem Buffet aufstehen sollten, unmöglich! Die Angestellten waren nur darauf aus, zusätzliche Getränke extra zu verkaufen, aber das Buffet, was von 10-15 Uhr angepriesen wird, nur dürftig nachfüllte. Brötchen waren zu hart aufgebackene Ware... nichts frisch. Ebenso der Obstsalat , der an Dosenfrüchte erinnerte. Die Käse und Wurstsalate schien bei keinem beliebt, denn die billige Discounter Salami oder Mortadella zeigte schon schnell trockene Ränder ( ob die abends auf die Pizza kommt?) Ab 12 Uhr gab es warme Speisen dazu, Kartoffelgratin und ein lauwarmes Fleisch. Crêpes sollten vielleicht auch nicht beim Italiener angeboten werden, es sei denn, man weiß,wie sie gemacht werden. Das einzige, was bei Freunden ankam, war der Lachs. Aber wer keinen Fisch mag, da war das Buffet dann doch arg überteuert in Anbetracht der 'Auswahl'... wenn denn nachgelegt wurde. In Anbetracht der Qualität der Lebensmittel würde ich das Restaurant nicht für deren regulären Speisekarte testen. Sehr enttäuschend !

I ate here the night before and the food was great, service was mediocre. I returned the next…read moreevening with a colleague and it was a disaster. First they couldn't find the reservation but sat us anyway. The concierge at the Sheraton made it and confirmed it for us. We were seated and we sat for around 10 minutes before anyone came to the table. We ordered a cocktail and an antipasto. One of the settings was missing a fork. When the antipasto was dropped off, we asked for a fork and two plates so we could share the salad. Neither item was ever delivered. We went to another table and took a fork and napkin. We ordered two beers, a water and two pizzas. One of the beers eventually was delivered. I started to tell the waiter we were missing a beer and he held up his finger as if saying wait a minute, talked to another server and then hurried away. On the way to deliver our beers, another table stopped him and he gave them one of ours. He never returned. I need to say that we waited about a half an hour before the one beer arrived. I went over to our waiter who was entering orders at a terminal to tell him. He just said, ok ok ok. Twenty minutes later the other beer arrived. I asked where the pizzas were. Was given a shrug. After a total of two hours at the table, I again went to the waiter at the terminal. I told him to cancel our order and give us the check. This was after I saw four tables seated and served after we had placed out order. He arrived back with the bill which include the two pizzas. I told him I was not paying for something I didn't receive and I wanted to speak to a manager. A manager came and just acted as if this happened all the time. The waiter came back with the bill adjusted for the pizzas. I left a twenty cent tip and left (was the smallest I had). The head chef here ought to be outraged. The food is good but is loses all credibility with the extremely rotten service. The front of the house manager needs to be replaced with someone who knows how to run a dining room.
