I would give more stars if possible. I was recently turned away from another restaurant for a wedding rehearsal dinner after they "forgot to make the reservations" for our party of 20 people more than three months in advance. I called up the Whiskey Kitchen and within 10 minutes they called me back, the flustered bride to be, and told me to come on over with the whole party and they had the back room waiting for us. They saved the day. Their staff treated us kindly, were beyond friendly and accommodating and felt bad for a mishap that didn't even occur at their restaurant. To make things even better, the food was all just as everyone ordered, it was delicious and plentiful! It was my husband and I's first time enjoying dinner here and we will now forever be patrons to this wonderful establishment. Kudos to the waitstaff and manager who saved our night before the wedding - we all appreciate you very much! read more

The chicken artichoke burgers a very good. Also the artichoke appetizer. The stake burger is not so bad but not much flavor

To the restaurants benefit we never ate an entree there, while waiting for our appetizer I pointed to the cockroach climbing up the wall behind my wife and she suddenly lost her appetite. I did try the appetizer nothing special all in all we had two draft beers and some bread with cheese on it and the price was $25 we will not be returning. read more

Great selection of food but for the price, the amount of food is ridiculously small. $21 for 3 small bites of battered fish and soggy fries, $15 for a small handful of red potatoes and a small side of seasonal veggies (mostly bell peppers). Couldn't even eat the side salad because it was over-soaked in dressing. Asked the waitress if they knew what a B-52 was, she said of course, but it was missing one of the 3 liquors. I guess if you don't order steak and whiskey, this probably isn't the place for you. read more

We ordered the baked cheesy bread and it was literally ice cold in the middle, wings were either super dry or tasted like grease. They couldn't even give me the decency to give me good carrots. I loved this place. The food was delicious and the service was pristine! I had a very fresh salad with warm, cooked to perfection grilled chicken on top. A very nice bar and restaurant in an area with few options. Sat at the bar where we ordered a bottle of fairly priced wine to drink and then take to our table when one became available. Met the owner and his wife sitting on the adjacent bar stools. Friendly, busy bartenders and sports on tv. We had one hamburger and one tri tip sandwich. Both very good and cooked as ordered. We had the absolute best dinner here. Little bit of a wait, but it was a Friday night and you can definitely tell this is the place to be. The scallop appetizer was to die for!! The sauce was probably the best sauce I've had on a dish ever. The brewsky bread is a must. My husband had the meatloaf and loved it. Tastes like homemade made with love. I had the French ribeye - and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I'm super picky about my ribeye steak and this was delicious. But the best part of the night for me was service. The food is amazing, the service is fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is the best restaurant we have been at in a long time! The only down side is we don't live in Red Bluff, but it's worth the drive! Sure makes travel sports less painful when we know we get to end the day here! The husband who hates going out to dinner actually said he'd get a hotel in Red Bluff just to drink their old fashions and eat their food. That is the highest compliment in the land. The staff is friendly, the dishes are okay depending what you order, it can be a bit pricey and if the food is good then I don't mind the price but if it sucks then it's a waste of cash. The drinks could be better, I ordered a jalapeño margarita and it was a really weak, so for sure the drinks aren't that special. read more

Must recommend their award winning PICKLE-TINI Peach-Tini is also very delicious. What an amazing meal to top off the Red Bluff Rodeo weekend! It was packed so we sat at the bar. My group ordered several different items from the menus. We all shared and savored our different choices but the highlight was the Beef Medallions with a side of Risotto. Gordon Ramsey would most likely agree. Kudos to the young chef in the kitchen and kudos to our bartenders/wait staff, Colten and John. They were in 5th gear the entire time we were sitting there. While we were finishing our meals, the owner, a very friendly and personable 'Bruce' popped over to sit and ask us how our meal went and I wouldn't shut up about the risotto. As a Jack's Grill regular (and yes it's my favorite) seldom do I order beef out anywhere else . Used to eat at the Green Barn as a kid with my parents and it was one their favorites . As a big kid was never impressed with the GB . Came back recently after finding of a renovation and new menu . Had the best prime rib I've had since the early days of CR Gibbs when they were a great place . Everything from my salad , bread , shrimp cocktail and then prime rib and loaded baked potato was great ! My husband and I went here on our 20th wedding anniversary and Valentine's Day. We had never been there before but we both wanted to try it. We drove from Redding, so expectations were pretty high. My husband had made reservations a week in advance. Good thing he did because when we got there, there was an hour wait. We were placed in the very back by the bar, and next to the door. Every time the door open, I got a rush of cold air hitting me. It was extremely loud and hard to hear one another talk. It took approximately an hour for our order to be taken and another 45 minutes to get it. We both ordered steaks. When my husband's food finally arrived his steak was cold. I ordered my steak well done and got it medium well I did not send it back, by the time we got our food we were starving. I did not want to have to wait any longer than I already had. My husband would like to try this place again on a less busy night. We will give it another try and hopefully next time I can give a better review. read more

My wife and I just came home from dining here. I have to say the meatloaf was EXCELLENT!!! (We both chose it) Kentucky Bourbon gravy was awesome! One unexpected surprise was the Texas cheese toast that was the bread you get with your entrée and all you have to do is ask and you get more. Great atmosphere and much improved since the last time we were here years ago prior to the change in management. We look forward to coming back and trying other selections from the menu. Hopefully, we will have some room for dessert next time around. Home made cobbler sounded really good but we just couldn't do it this time, sorry Lori. The food and service at the GBWK is always amazing. When our kids and grandkids visit Red Bluff, it's always a "must go to the Barn" for dinner! Tonight was no different, after we spent the day baking for our Thanksgiving dinner....we took 3 adult grandkids and 2 of their friends to dinner. we had a wonderful family meal with awesome food and dessert. Melissa / the manager , was our waitress....she and her staff are so informative about their meals, desserts and the cocktails, always a pleasure to dine at the GBWK. Sure was nice to sit and relax after we had had a marathon baking day and no dishes to do after dinner! The perfect way to start our Thanksgiving weekend! What a great experience we had here. Stopped by because it always looked busy, and we soon learned why. A great salad was shared along with a steak sandwich that she said was the best she had ever had. After sharing bites, I had to agree. Super tender and the bread was just the right chewiness. Our boy had the Tri-tip sandwich and has since been back 4 times for the same meal! We were so thrilled, we went back for dinner the next night for the rib eye and tastes of the perfectly cooked Baseball filet mignon and smashed potatoes. I have to say that one of the best things about our experience was the fact that on both visits, we got to meet the owner Bruce, who, along with his southern hospitality was able to enhance our experience.
