King Oyster Mushroom Tempura (good! Get it!)
Hee Y.

We arrived 7:30pm on a Saturday and it was busy! But we were seated right away as a party of two. Service was slow. It took maybe 15 min for anyone to come over and greet us at our table. Get the thai curry puffs and king oyster mushroom tempura! The cucumber sauce that comes with the thai curry puff is so good - vinegary and sweet. The peanut curry was salty! I was surprised. My mouth was puckering from the salt. The food took maybe 20 min to come out.

Fantastic Thai meal!! The coconut soup was beautiful and delicious. Noodles were tasty and not too oily. Rice and veggies were just what we needed. Next time we hope to try the cheesecake or other dessert. Great service and tasty filtered water! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Wish the table was not sticky![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The food is not only healthy and delectable but beautiful! Decided to go with a couple of apps this time and add some rice. That way could split the vegan cheesecake. The Thai curry puffs flaky and delicious. But the COCONUT SOUP--wow! Don't miss this. I will dream about this soup! Service was warm and attentive.

I kept saying that I had no idea how this food was this delicious, the textures were somehow PERFECT this is the best fake chicken I have ever consumed. 11/10 for the nuggets. The other food was also amazing we had the spare ribs in addition to the apps. Our server was fantastic he talked to me about how the food was made I was so impressed with his knowledge of the food. We will return next time we are in the area :)

Such an awesome vegetarian Thai restaurant! We ordered the Thai basil fried rice, which was fantastic, and the Siamese Dream Curry Noodles. The curry were amazing, a rich creamy broth with a generous portion of noodles, veggies, and meat alternatives (tofu and soy meat). Definitely will be coming back soon!

Green elephant is excellent for food and service - Roti canai - 5/5 Curry puffs - 5/5 Siemese noodles - it's one of my favorite items but it lacked veggies first and then when they added veggies it lacked sauce - it was also not spicy which is a bummer / hopefully they fix it for next time

Almost everything is vegan, or can be made so, and Oh. So. Delicious!! One of our fave meals all week long We ate dinner on a Friday night, and my only complaint is how LOUD the place was. The all wood interior seemed to amplify the sound. Def not a quiet, romantic or date night place, at least on the weekend. We could barely hear our server, and forget talking to each other. That being said, the service was outstanding, and the food was, every bite, phenomenal! For an appetizer, we ordered the King Trumpet Oyster Mushroom Tempura, and received a HUGE bowl of delicately crispy mushroom bites with a delicious light sauces to dip it in that took the savory factor up a million degrees! SO GOOD, I can't recc it enough! We had the Spicy Vegetable Stir Fry, at a spice level 3/4, which had a red curry sauce and tofu "meat" that was out of this world! I had a Green Curry Bowl loaded with green veggies, and spicy hot at 4/4. It was heat hot as well, which was perfect for the cold night. Overall, the food was some of the best we ate anywhere in Portsmouth, with service that equaled the best anywhere else. Don't miss out on such a fab place to eat - just find a quieter time to visit!

We really enjoy the Green Elephant, even though we are not vegetarian. The menu takes plenty of nods from Thai cuisine, the staff is always nice and friendly and the food delicious. On our most recent visit, we stopped in for lunch. It seems they do not offer a lunch menu, but the dinner menu is varied enough that you can pick and choose to scale down to a delicious lunch. We started with a few appetizers, a very delicious version of "Curry puffs", with light flaky dough and a delicious filling that did not overwhelm with the curry flavor. The Singapore noodles were enough to share for two people, especially at lunch time. Lot's of fresh vegetables, and crunchy fried tofu. I like that you can customize the heat level for most dishes. While we did not have alcoholic beverages, they do have a full bar and creative cocktails which we have enjoyed when visiting for dinner.

Nice clientele, nice light fixture, cool vibe upon walking in. My friends and I were walking around Portsmouth and wanted to grab a light dinner before a long drive back to VT. We each ordered something different: chive pockets, Singapore noodles, samosa appetizer, and peanut curry. This was definitely a trendy place with eclectic Asian fusion.

We visited on Friday night and sat at a table as the bar seating was pretty packed. Crowd was pretty chill - a mixture of people in their 20's having drinks & apps, and then older couples/families enjoying dinner. We were happy to see Smithwicks on the draft menu, and we also got a Downeast cider with a caramel/cinnamon rim. We ordered the house made mozzarella sticks, which were ginormous, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and all around delicious. We all opted with different types of burgers - sliders, fried chicken, and a pub burger. All were served with fries and were perfectly cooked. The coating on my fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. Service was awesome - our glasses were never left empty! Best of all, Dwyers has a free jukebox packed with favorites. Looking forward to coming back on our next visit to Portsmouth - we'll definitely be trying the deviled eggs, wings, and fried oreos!

Statey has just recently opened up, which replaced State Street & while I live in Vegas now this definitely was on my list of stops while home visiting. I finally got to go in last night to check it out. It is very big & kinda open but not too open around the dinning room area. They have plenty of seating on the floor & around the bar. It was great to see Mo a long time bartender still working for them. They were having karaoke night & they have a nice little stage out back for the "maybe soon to be famous singers to perform on". It started @ 7/8pm (can't remember) & went to midnight. No cover charge to get in. It wasn't very packed here on the Thursday night I went, but I have heard that it does get very packed to the point that you may not be able to get in. So keep that in mind when heading over to check them out! I didn't get anything to eat as I was not hungry. My cousin got the fish sandwich with tatter tots. He said his sandwich was good & I had a few tatter tots which were yummy! They still have their famous lobster roll for a crazy, reasonable, too good to be true price! My Mom had asked me to check on this for her as she loves their (State Street) lobster rolls. I do want to go back before I head home to have one as I have in the past & it was very tasty & they fill the bun up with plenty of lobster meat. They have one of my favorite flavored vodkas, blueberry so I was drinking those up. It was nice & cozy in there, temperature was just right. The bathrooms were clean & they have more then one stale inside their rest room so I never had to wait. State Street had less bathrooms & that would make for a long wait when needing to relieve the bladder. I saw some familiar faces while I was in there. Their door guy for that night, Aaron was a really nice guy. Friendly & smiling all the time. You definitely need to check this place out. Stop by for a drink (or two) and/or a bite to eat! I will be back before heading home & on my future trips back to NH!! So happy that they brought State Street back!!!! Thank You!!!

We sat at the bar and were ignored for about 5 minutes- and not because it was busy or under staffed. When the bartender finally came over ( not our usual bartender) my husband ordered a margarita. It was ok- but nothing special. When we looked at the slip, it was The GOAT Rita for the amazing price of $17. When we asked if this was the house margarita, the bartender assured us it was. Ok fine, it was maybe an $8.00 margarita at best. We ordered the queso app- and two burgers- on a Monday, when it should've been two for one burgers. We were charged for both, and when I mentioned this to the bartender, she said it was taken off after we rang up- hmmmm....but really? Had we not said anything, I'm not sure it would have happened. All in all, huge disappointment, the service was the worst we've ever had, food was ok.

Blue crab cocktail was covered in a giant slopped on pile of cocktail sauce and horseradish, which absolutely overwhelmed much of the delicate crab meat even after peeling off as much as possible. Why not put this on the side? Maryland sensibilities offended. Shrimp roll was good but menu should explain how it's served. Coleslaw it came with was awful.... Too much vinegar. Dinner rolls were excellent. Mac & cheese was also very good. Kids cheeseburger and fries were fine. Heirloom tomato salad was ok... tomatoes were a little overripe but flavor was good. Roasted oysters were terrible.... If I wanted a mouthful of warm flavored bread crumbs I can eat them out of the pantry. We sent back the crab dip... it very much tasted like whitefish... they checked and said it was the crab dip, but it tasted nothing like crab to us. Maybe it was just poorly balanced like a lot of the rest of the food. Drinks- 5 stars Great cocktail and very solid beer menu. Atmosphere- 1 star I CAN'T HEAR YOU?!? Maybe a little less tile and metal next time. Sooooo loud the lady we were walking out with said "your ears need a break from that place.... Never again!" Same lady... same. Service- 1.5 stars Our actual server did a very good job he was timely and friendly and dealt with our crab dip send back very well. However- we reserved a standard height table but when we got there they said that only high tops were available. We specifically chose the dining room not a high top when we reserved and the hostess completely blew this off like it was our fault. When she asked if it was a problem and we said it was she simply stared at us. Value- 2 stars A meal at this price should hit on all cylinders and this was more of a "it runs but it smokes a lot" experience.
